Aeroevan's unofficial CM9 thread was closed for not complying with the GPL, but if you read the second post in the thread (the change log) he did actually link to the kernel source.

Am I missing something? I notice that the source link is listed under an older build, his newest build being 2012-09-05. Maybe the newer builds use a newer kernel and don't link to the updated source? Is that the problem? Or is it because the source link is in the second post rather than the first, so it's not noticeable enough?
I think Evan has pretty much moved on from the dinc2 already anyways
Note: This is for the CM9 thread only. I searched for the word "source" (without quotes) in his CM10 thread but didn't find any links to kernel source.
Maybe the GPL compliance issue for the CM9 thread is about something other than the kernel?
xHausx says the source link I referred to is for an older kernel, but the thread is also closed because Aeroevan isn't supporting that ROM anymore.
If the thread isn't dev supported it has to be closed?
sent from my OG Droid (until my iPhone arrives)
Doesn't that mean almost all threads in the Dev section need to be closed?
There have already been multiple threads created about this, please do not continue creating new ones.
Thread Closed.

NOTE: Sold my I9000, hence can't support this thread, not that it needed much support
I have compiled a list of kernels that work on CM7 base. I used to have these in my signature but looks like this might be worthy of a thread considering the questions people keep asking on what kernels are compatible with the latest cm7 nightly etc etc and I don't see a similar thread.
NOTE: These kernels only work on roms that base on CM7 Nightly 123 and later ( CM7 nightly 123 and higher, Insanity 40 and higher, MIUI 1.9.30 and higher). Make sure you are on these before you try these kernels. I will keep this thread updated but if you see a newer version of any of these kernels posted in IRC, kernel thread or wherever, post it here and i will update this original post.

After flashing this, if you are looking for stock CM7 kernel, try the attached Cm7_stock_kernel.zip. I pulled this from nightly 143. Worked fine for me. I flashed neo first, then flashed this and got stock kernel back.
If you screwed up something and lost recovery, try the attached KernelCMW2.tar file. Flash it using odin/heimdall, pull battery and put back, enter cwm and flash a CM7 based rom.
If any of the kernel developers have an issue with this thread contact me by PM.
Thanks to the following kernel developers/maintainers
TKGlitch/Sixstringsg ( current maintainer of glitch)
Zacharias Maladroit ( Neo Platypus)
Nikademus ( FuguMod)
CM7 team/pawitp ( current maintainer for stock CM7)
This pleases me ^^
would be great if you could provide some basic info about those kernels (features included) and/or link to their source. appreciated.

There are only 3 different kernels and you didn't even provide any info or comparison beyond the linux upstream version.
What a completely pointless thread.

thats the goal of this thread. There are also links to learn what each kernel offers. No point providing info on battery life for each kernel etc as it would vary phone to phone.
Since Aeroevan's CM9 thread was closed, I felt the forum members might want a thread to continue community support for the ROM. Feel free to create community support threads such as this for all the other ROM threads which were closed because of lack of dev support.
To continue with the last post in the original thread found here:

Really? I haven't had any Netflix issues. Are you on the latest build?
Without any new developments this is more appropriate for the general section. If in the future you wish to start maintaining the ROM feel free to PM me and I can move this back for you.
I have seen a lot of people refer to this kernel: AK.801.Cylon kernel. Is this the same as the ak kernel thread, like v.99 or whatever the newest build is, or is this a separate kernel? If so, link? If I google it, this page pop up, is this the latest of this kernel type:
Search google, AK.801.Cylon kernel:
http://server1.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390355257214632219
Is this the latest? And is this and AK kernel thread (Diamond and Rubik) the same? Can someone clarify, I am new to this phone so still trying to piece everything together, thank you.
Yes. It's the same thread. The dev anarkia1976 aka Stefano and his team of testers are extremely active towards the kernel development. The latest experimental version is SKL v200 and stable is Rubik v16.
Diamond was the name if the earlier experimental version.
(The dev is so active, that by the time you read this, there may be another kernel out.. )
Is there a CM 10.1 ROM with Linaro? Like just the exact same as CM but built with Linaro instead.
Look in development section
a manta wrote this.
Ive looked, but i cant find it. Can you provide me with the link please?
Many improvements by the Linaro team have already been merged into AOSP, but details regarding the specific toolchain used to build a kernel should be available along with the kernel source code as required by XDA-Developer's GPL policy.
You can ask the ROM maintainer for the toolchain and if they're unable to provide it please use the report button to flag the thread for GPL compliance.
Look for tiny's cm10.1 ROM if you want for toro. It's built with linaro. He doesn't update it to often but it is solid.
This is what you're looking for:
Euroskank CM10.1
I have done a couple of searches both on Google and within the forum without success. Maybe my search strings were to specific or not specific enough, but I do know that we don't have an 'Official' CM10.2 flo thread in the Original Android Dev section, while we have several 'unofficial' ones in the regular Android Dev section (I do love DJ's Kang ROM.)
Point is, why isn't there one? Are we still waiting for team CM to designate a person to head up project Flo/Razor? Just curious as to why it is still missing from our forum? And new flash addicts may not be aware of the get.cm link.
There is an official Nightly. There is no official stable release.
