Use the hack kit or flash a ruu (ruu will keep you s-off if not mistaken.) Check the hack kit to see if that will work for you.

Thanks. Gonna try it and see what I can do.

What does any of that have to do with the Desire HD?
well, it is stated that it works with all devices. so was wondering has anyone tried it. Am downloading now will try it out of curiosity.
I think its referring to any xoom Device/model. It wont work on any other device.

asked the developer... if its for XOOM only then my mistake.
flashing Rom of a different device may kill your phone
Hi
After some advice a friend has ask me to root their desire and when I tried to boot into recovery the following symbol came up! Has anyone come across this before? I have also attached the boot screen in case this helps. Thanks

I think that's the stock recovery.

Cool so there should be no issue rooting with unrevoked

Yeah that's just the stock recovery.. to be honest I don't see why people still use unrevoked if they're gonna change roms anyway... might as well s-off with revolutionary, back up and then flash.. its quicker too, and you get the bonus of s-off which makes "fixing" things A LOT easier.
Thanks for confirming, as for rooting with unrevoked it is the way I am happy doing it especially as this was only my 2nd go

We just got a used Desire and after using it for a day, it suddenly went into a boot loop. We can't boot into the ROM, we can't boot into recovery, it just crashes and restarts. We can only reach the H-boot. The phone is S-ON and on a stock HTC ROM. How can we fix this? Also, it might be covered by warranty, should we contact the store to see if they'll fix it?
What exactly happens when you try to get into recovery?

Haha. You know we extra friendly.
OP. If you are running cm7 then you flashed it on your phone via recovery. It is the same process just flash in recovery. If you are doing UKB it opens aroma installer. Just follow the steps.

But thing is that I would have to go to downgrade to 2.3.4 or 2.3.3. What would happen if I get out of cm7? How could I? So that u could do the process. I didn't flash it, I installed cm7 to my phone so I could reboot anytime. When I delete it would my.phone go back to the sstock dinc2 rom?

No, if you install a custom ROM it'll do what you want it too.

What do you mean? I have tried to install so many Roms but my done wouldn't boot up.correctly and would stay at the Htc start up for a long time about ten minutes so I just restored my backup.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
Are you s-off or just htc-dev unlock? That will make a big difference and maybe why your having problems.
I am only HTC dev unlocked and ne'er to do the s-off to get the leaked rom workin. But the cm7 gets it to 2.3.7 but I think I need to downgrade. To get the s-off. I have a Mac though but I can use my friend's pc

You don't need to downgrade unless you're hboot is the wrong version.
Sent from my KangBang'd out vivow
Wait really? But then how.would I be able to?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
My hboot is 0.98

Well then yeah, you'd need to downgrade the hboot to s-off. It isn't anything about the android version. Restore to your stock backup if you made one and relock and downgrade/s-off.
Sent from my KangBang'd out vivow
I would need to do that? But I don't.have my stock back from the original sense software. What would I need to downgrade the hboot to?

Look for the thread in the development section about downgrading. Also, you'll have to flash a stock ruu

Generally, "best ROM" threads get shut down. Because every user has different needs and every phone (even the same model) is slightly different, the answer is always to try them out for yourself. And, please don't bump.
