Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone could direct me to some working emulators for the nexus 7. The ones in the gaming thread don't seem to be working.
The primary one I'm looking for is n64 but any help would be appreciated.

SuperN64 (N64 Emulator) is what you're looking for
Just watch out it sometimes prompts you to download applications, so make sure you read all the pop up windows. Otherwise compatibility and smoothness are awesome! Overall good emulator
Use My Boy! Free - GBA Emulator for gbc/gba. You will need to find the bios for this though.
I'm sorry I can't post the direct links because I'm new here and probably my last post since the captchas are annoying lol

My personal chart:
N64:
Super N64 (tried Super Mario 64 and Smash Bros both flawlessy)
Mupen64Plus AE (a bit outdated but will be ported to OUYA in near future so we can expect a better optimization for tegra devices, to be IMHO monitored)
GBA:
GBA.Emu (Compatible even with golden sun 1/2 music tracks, have a problem with mario advance 4 music otherwise i'd say perfect).
My Boy!
Gameboid (Not available on market anymore)
PSX:
epsxe (Tried only Tekken 3 and it's perfect).
NDS:
NDS4Droid (Around 30-50% speed but I'd say good compatibility).
DSoid (Less compatible but with some games emulated up to 80-90% speed. Games like FF XII Revenant Wings and Fire Emblem don't work correctly).
SNES:
SuperGNES
Snesoid (No more available on market)
PSP:
PPSSPP (No other alternatives but to be an early version it's IMHO very good).
Awesome guys I appreciate the help.

I'd recommend FPSE for PSX and for NDS, NDS4Droid had pretty much been abandoned.
Tiger arcade for mame. Happy bay is also a sort of jack of all trades, its awesome

I just started playing with SuperGNES. It is a very well made emulator. Downloads coverart and lots of neat features. Scans your storage automatically. Very easy to use. Probably the best emulator I've ever used.
I also do PSX using FPse but it is a crap shoot. Games play great mostly but the interface is clumsy and require lots of tweaking each time. Some settings don't seem to want to stick after a restart. OpenGL plugin makes games look very good though. I'm currently mid way through FF7. Games play full speed in normal mode and a about 40-60fps using OpenGL.
Those really are my two consoles I really like to emulate.
I also use a Moga controller. I also have a PSx tethered (4.2.1 screwed up sixaxis wireless support afaik).

About FPSE i hand't the cash to buy both a looking on web I found epsxe to be more reliable but I will be happy to try FPSE too :good:
About NDS4Droid, check this
https://twitter.com/jquesnelle/status/282357884598251520
I expect to see something during these holidays However DSoid improved very much with last update even if it completely lacks options.
I get all my emulators and ROMs from roms4droid.com
Its easy to navigate straight from my n7 and has a pretty good selection.

Way to go guys, you just recommended the same exact emulator, but one is riddled with adware and downloads, not to mention the author probably stole the source code and is profiting off of it without the permission of the guy who actually ported it. (Paul Lamb, paulscode.com and author of Mupen64plus) Also, Mupen64 Plus is NOT outdated. He simply hasn't pushed the latest updates to the Play Store yet. Version 2.0 is coming out soon with multiplayer support (Multiple controllers on one device) and a nice cheat system. You can try some bleeding edge builds here. - http://www.paulscode.com/forum/index.php?topic=723.0
Plays great and the interface is much better. Please don't support those assholes who take other people's work for a quick buck.
Yup, there are recent builds of mupen64 - ad free and fully open source. I'd say the games run almost as well as n64oid, but I like it better because of its great gamepad support.

I'm guessing English isn't your first language. The line about "good positions for playing of various gender." Makes absolutely no sense, so it's hard to understand what you are asking. Do you want some good game recommendations?

Yes it is not my first language very good perception, however you guessed very well what I meant (and very good imagination), anyway I've a little complicated the grammar and sorry for that.
Exactly, the question is: what games can you recommend to me. I am interested in all the types.
Thanks a lot once again and forgive me next puzzles if any...

N64oid!! - I know you know what a N64 is And I know you love Super Mario 64
Something newer ?
OK, the games I have installed right now are asphalt 2, cubes free(kinda old school graphics, but lots of fun), gun bros (one of my favorites), heavy gunner, nfs shift, spectral souls (very expensive, but well put together turn based RPG), squible (it was the first game on the market that captured my attention), zenonia 1 and 2 (Zelda style RPG) and also live holdem pro(free live poker game, very addicting)

I think the word you are looking for is "genre", not gender. Genre is a group or category of something, and gender is sex (like male or female).
In any case, Pocket Legends is pretty cool, but the games I limit myself to these days are Angry Birds, Slice It and Wordfeud...all puzzle type games.
-- B
I'm a gamer myself and have literally tried every game available on android. Pocket legends is pretty fun to have for a portable mmorpg. It has some obvious tones similar to world of warcraft. Another fun rpg is crusade of destiny. Its got great graphics and fun gameplay and kept me busy for a couple of weeks. Spectral souls is a well made game for sure but its more one of those strategy rpgs that lacks the ability to fully control the player. It reminds me more of an amped up chess game so it wasn't my taste.
Also if you're running a high end device, which I can assume you are because you're in this forum, I can reccommend any of the gameloft games. They aren't available on the market so you'll need to visit their site. Just google gameloft. They are a little pricey and some of the games can be a little buggy at times but as far as graphis go and playability there is little comparison out there. Games like splinter cell, hawx, modern combat 2, and avatar come in high definition formats and stick pretty close to the full size counterparts.
Other than that you should bury your gaming urges in one of the several well made emulators on the market. A lot of good games from the days past and some fun memories too!
Happy gaming!

Another game I would highly recommend is Project INF. It's a top down multiplayer shooter. Somewhat addictive once you get into it.
I think someone already mentioned it but GunBros is also a good shooter game.
EA also has a bunch of mainstream titles on Android like Sims 3 and FIFA 10.
I hate to support companies that refuse to support Android by refusing to put their apps on the market but Gameloft really has some of the best Android games. I currently have Modern Combat 2 and for an FPS with 3D graphics running on a phone, it's absolutely stellar! It even has multiplayer. Not sure about the price but I think I got it for $3.99 or $4.99. Just Google "gameloft".

Have you even looked into the reason WHY gameloft games are not on the market? It has nothing to do with them not supporting android.
It has to do with the fact that they have different .apk's for different gpus in different phones, the games are optimized for specific gpu's, that's why they look so good. The market doesn't allow multiple apk's or detect phone gpus so they can't put it up there properly.

One game that I can heartily recommend is Majesty. Plays pretty much like the PC version. I'm in the same boat as you otherwise, just got a g2, only had a g1 beforehand, in which I ran nesoid and gensoid, nes and genesis emulators.
I did run across some apps about emulating Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and the Baulders Gates/Planscape Torment games...but you need the data files from the games, so either have to own em or....
Search Pelya (the maker) for those. I havn't been able to test them out fully yet, looking for my old discs now >.<

Wow i have both of them original versions ,please tell me how they can be launched on the our little machines and if they are not too slow?
By the way i am still looking forward ADOM and Fallout distribution if it is possible.

Yeah I would kill for Fallout, never really got into the BG series. As such I don't own the first one, and after reading more gemRB is only allows bg2 demo, so didn't bother.
Free Heroes 2 on the other hand, works pretty well. Was just playing some Heroes of Might and Magic 2.
Quick run down on what you have to do.
Download Free Heroes 2 on your g2/desire z
Install HoMM2 on your computer, go into the game files, copy the data folder, go into your sd card and put the data folder in "app-data/net.sourceforge.fheroes2"
You will most likely have to make the sourceforge folder.
Now start the game, make sure the "where to download application data" tab is pointed to your sd card, and then go to "downloads" tab, click game data I guess? Then dl midi music and essential map pack, get the additional and mega map pack if you wish, and any of the translations.
Now you should be able to run the game, but will run into the issue i had, crashing after the first turn I imagine
SO, remount your phone to the pc, open up your sourceforge.fheroes2 folder, and look for "fheroes2.cfg"
Open it with notepad, then look for "videomode = 640x480"
Change it to "videomode = 800x480" and save. Now should run with no issues...hopefully. I tested a few turns then attacked a graveyard....suffice to say I died
Took me a little bit of scouring to figure out exactly how to get it to run, and still havn't messed with any of the more indepth tweaks, so if you figure out some that work real well, be sure to pass them along
Has anyone tried the new PS1 emu yet? The word generally is that it is miles ahead of psx4droid, however i dont have a G2/desire z yet. Im looking at getting this phone as my next purchase.
Yes, ofcourse. It is way much better than psx4droid! There is a thread on xda discussing FPse!
trust me its a hell lot better than psx, fpse is so much cooler and it runs a lot smoother than psx

The word would be correct. Just don't confuse savestates with loadstates. That made me lose about 4 hours of FFVII when I was drunk. Its badass though. I went online and found a FFVII savegame and put it on my SD, fpse read it just fine and I was back in business.

FPSE is ok. a lot of the games that work on psx4droid, dont on FPSE, which can get quite annoying.
But the frame rate and the over all smoothness is better on FPSE.
AND if you get sixaxis pair tool from the market, you can play the games with a ps3 controller (FPSE)! The controller doesnt work however on psx4droid.
(Just a little input)

Hi people
I been trying out all sorts of different emulators to find ones which best suit the phone. I come to a conclusion that emulators for super nintendo and sega megadrive and anything else which is based off of 4 button and d pad controllers are the best playable on phones. obviously people will want to try and get the most up to date graphic games emulators but i found without good game play these do not matter. but i was hoping that everyone who uses emulator could share their own opinions in this thread for people who are looking for the answers that myself and others once did
i cant seem to find a sega master system emulator to work on sgs2 if anyone knows of one please let me know. snes9x ex is great for super nintendo and its totally free from the market
Im using 2 emulators now,
FPSe for PlayStation 1
N64oid for Nintendo 64
They both work well, though not perfect. On the FPSe I play Final Fantasy VIII, Tekken 3, Tony Hawk 3.. Quake 2 is weird to play, Metal Gear Solid doesnt work for me.
On N64oid I play Zelda Ocorina of time, which again works but not perfect. Some graphical glitches and sometimes crashes. I also tried Mario 64, Zelda Majoras Mask. Super smash bros doesnt work
So overall they are great, but I really hope the devs will start optimizing these emulators for the Galaxy S II!
Oh, and good thread. There should be a big thread emulators in general.. At least. Maybe seperate thread for each emulator.

For me it's not so much the system but the game. For example Mario Kart on snes is not great as it's awkward to use the "bumper" buttons to jump round corners. Whereas Diablo on PSX works perfectly control-wise.
It's all just trial and error to see how controls translate to touch screen devices.

Hi there, for a while now I thought the 'oid' series had the best emulators, like N64oid, GBCoid, Genesoid, etc...
I guess I thought they were the best because they were the first I've come across. But after recently browsing the market I've discovered that their are other variations of these already existing emulators, maupen64 & NES.EMU being 2 examples. Through little research I found that the 'oid' series usually have the best game compatibility, but yet while comparing them to similar apps in the store I discovered other emulators include interesting features such as new play, multi touch, and minor things of that nature...Especially PS1 emulators, there's like 3 of them! FPSE, EPSXE, I think PSX4DROID is still around? IDK.
My question (s) to you all is what game emulator do you like the best, and why.
Like maybe list the pros & cons and give your final decision on which you like the best?

i have been using xperia play for over an year now....i have tried almost all emulator related stuff that is available on market....i used psxperia(and fpse for some games). epsxe: well good graphics OpenGL support but too laggy on GB....psx4droid : too laggy and unplayble, So fpse is best as its new version supports touchpad on GB so u dont really need Psxperia conversion...and if u have ICS and overclocking enabled...it is best option for me..... and for nitendo 64......i have tried mupen64, n64droid and emu.n64....mupen64 supports touchpad that is good for some games but the performance is far behind n64oid....emu.n64 is average, a little lag but less supportability .....So if u have n64oid and you are using ICS 4.0.4 stock by markphyton with custom kernal .....it supports touch pad and is fastest available on market yet........so n64oid is best choice with ICS -nothing better......and talking about other emulators....u can use any since they work almost same ....no big issue!
thankyou and sorry for my bad english
Thanks for the input.
I'm on GB so I guess I'll stick with N64OID & FPSE. I am a little disappointed that N64oid does not support touch pads tho...

Reasons why...?
I like anything that has to do with all gameboy variations. Playing OOS or ooa is just awesome. Yay for Zelda!

For GBA emulation, I was using Gameboid and it was fine, but now I tried MyBoy and I prefer it because it doesn't need a bios file and you can disable linear filtering (so the image is pixelated instead of blurry, which I like better)

Best emulators are Tigers. Especially the tiger mame/arcade.

I even bought neo.emu from the market and its good but tiger plays what neo.emu won't. And all tigers emus are free.

Any news on the Yabause Sega Saturn emulator being ported by the Mupen64 guy?
My XPlay broke in March and its taken me until today to get a new one so Im pretty far behind on whats been happening
I haven't seen an update for that recently... if ever...
I played sonic R on it a few weeks ago. It works but its painfully slow and has graphical issues.

I have not herlard of any news since last July. I am also stoked about playing Albert's Odyssey on the Sega Saturn emu. Nevermind the fact I own the game and my original Saturn.
