[STICKY INDEX]NEW TO AT&T GS III - I747 {Guides/ROMs/Root/Recovery}
There's a link that has a how to for mac. Please try doing some research before asking to not clutter the forums. (I read through a good majority of the stickies before even purchasing this phone, they really help)

From my Research There is no method to root Jellybean on Mac. The method above is for ICS.

You clearly missed this in your research, which should work on any platform you can get Heimdall 1.4-rc1 running on (and yes, it is buildable for OS X).

I clearly did. Thank you for your response, but it seems a bit over my head.I will wait for an easier less risky ( for a lack of a better phrase) procedure.

i agree i just tried 5 different versions of mac rooting and none worked.. all failed and couldnt detect my phone..
wine didnt work
i dont have boot camp or a mac..
i tried heimdall and onin or whatever thats called.

Dude, there are literally ass tons of threads in the t989 android development forum on ridiculously easy root methods please use the search feature instead of clogging forums up with questions like these.
Galaxy s2 is much easier to root than evo3d which i also owned previously due to the fact that Samsung phones do not have a locked boot loader like HTC phones.

one click root , means one click u can get any easier then that!
I'm coming from HTC phones and, really, they're generally quite easy to root once it's all figured out. What I like about them is that they include Mac and Linux users, too. Despite searching, I could only find rooting methods for Windows on this phone. I feel like us Unix users are left out here

You can start your search for info HERE.
And when you are done reading that you can try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473373 . Which is currently the thread right below this one. There's probably literally hundreds of threads here on rooting. You have to read...especially the stickies.

I suggest sticking to our device development forum Herr until you get your feet wet with the sprint gs3.
And read entire op. Don't just look at its features and pop thee download link.
Read. Otherwise we will see you posting a bricked thread, and I doubt you'll get any mercy.
Read. Read. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and read some more. When you think you're done, read more.
One day there will be a quiz.....or should be...

I'm wondering what it is about Omega Rom that's so amazing... I see that they have a 4.2 version of it (I believe the 4.2.x version is based of a leak and not an official update). Other than that, though, I didn't really see too many other options that we don't have on TW Roms over here at d2spr. It might be a bit more polished, but I think ours are pretty darn good.

You know I went over to the international GS3 forums and I think I figured out what the problem is. On our forum on the main page is says "Samsung Galaxy S III L710" but on the I9300 forum it just says "Samsung Galaxy S III". Maybe someone can get a moderator to change that to include "International version" and maybe we'll have less people with bricks, because it seems like the mistakes usually aren't between variants within US, it's usually a mistake involving international vs US carrier ROMs

None of the international phones say "international" and this has not happened there. There is an international Note 2 and GS2 that do not have this problem. Even a capital letters sticky that says these ROMs are only for the international version has not stopped some. If people are going to blindly flash their phones without reading it does not matter what the phone is called. They should be checking model numbers.

[Q] need help regarding SUPERSU

Hello all,
I'm new here and this is my 1st thread. I have Samsung galaxy s3. I upgraded my phone manually through odin to 4.3. I was trying to root my phone. I installed superSu and all but it is saying that "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
I tried many tutorials but not worked. Anyone plz help me regarding this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Waste samsung. Buy iphone
This is ouya and not ****ty samsung cheap phone.
U wont get any answer here. Buy iphone. Cuz everybody nows Apple best.
Ugh. Sorry. What the rude guy meant is you need to find the galaxy s3 forum. Google galaxy s3 xda. There are tons of guides. Rooting isn't as simple as installing an app....usually.

[Q] SGH-I717 Android 4.3 Root?

I've done a quick google search and I haven't found a root for it... All I found were ROMs and etc. I am very new to rooting phones, and the last time I tried to root my Note 1, I bricked it and I had to spend 3 hours unbricking it. Does there happen to be a guide on this forum or YouTube? Can you use any roots for 4.3?
EDIT: This is for the SGH I747, not the I717. I am wrong in the title. I thought my phone was the I717, but it's not.

Sorry, I didn't notice those. I'm rather new to this forum. My apologies.
If you are having problems finding anything, or getting used to the layout, check out XDA Assist in the main General forums. Its a group of RC's that will help you on your way. In the spirit of xda, they won't provide answers for you, but will help you to find the answers yourself. Basically, they will help by pointing you in the right direction for what you need.
