I know that in apex/nova/go launcher you can apply a theme to the icons but is there an app that can change individual icons of apps?

put the icon on your desktop of android hold on it click edit then the icon and change the icon images to your liking
You can search your browser for "icon".png and download any picture you find to your gallery and change to it ("icon" being the subject you are searching for).
Desktop visualizer is the best for that sort of thing. You need to grab icon packs from somewhere first though.

I think "Folder Organizer" is a good choice for what you're looking to do. It's not a full launcher that takes over the U.I., but it allows you to create folders, have nested folders (folders in folders), assign custom icons for folders and apps (using icon packs or .PNG images), and it helps keep tabs on all your apps. One of the features I like the most is the various folder widgets that allow you an extreme amount of options for displaying open folders including icon sizes, text captions on/off, border options, etc.. Lots of other features but the ones I listed seem to address what you're looking for. Here's the link:
Folder Organizer by Fabio Collini (there's a free version as well)
Thanks for the apps, but I would like to be able to change the icon in the drawer too!

I dragged the icon out of my app list onto the home screen and now I want to change the icon image. I have a bunch of icons on my sdcard just not sure how to change it...

I have been using 7zip to replace icons for my docked apps. The only one that has eluded me so far is the phone icon. I found the stock green phone icon in res\drawable and replaced it but it did not change on the app or dock. Usually the icon for others was in res\drawable-hdpi. Soooo my question is where the heck is the one I need to change. Thanks.
I believe its in dialertabactivity.apk
Thats where it takes the icon from

Now, any idea where that default apps icon is stored? The white 16 square rectangle that Zeam, launcher and LP use? Is it in Framework-res? I can't find it in Zeam so think it is in the system somewhere. Thanks.

What launcher are you using? It is in the laucher. I use adwex, one of its features is the ability to change the icons....I change them all the time.

Zeam. It's not in the drawable-hdpi where I found all my other icons for apps.
The way I do it sometimes it just open the apk with 7zip, the take the res folder and drag it to the desktop, or whatever, open it in windows, and change the view to large icons, then you can look at all the images in the apk and find what you want.

Yeah, that is what I have been doing, but Zeam has so many drawables... I guess I have no choice but to look at them all. Really though the apps icon was a system default a lot of launchers used.
Got it! Had a wierd name action_apps_grid or something like that. Thanks for the help. I have made my phone my own now...
Hey, I'm just looking for a widget like My Library that you can point to a folder full of apps, and it'll generate a nice looking tile launcher widget for them. Is there anything like this?
Thanks
Edit: Extra points if it'll change the size of each app's tile based on usage.
I use folder enhancer to create specific app widgets

Im looking for the same thing
that would be pretty nice. i haven't seen/heard of anything like this though.
i used to use desktop visualizer to give a similar look to this. i am also sure you can get UCCW to do this as well, by adding game images in a "grid" and applying a hotspot to the images to open up the corresponding apps.
Let me know if anyone makes something like this!

I have been searching online to try to find an app that will allow icon labels to be changed. ie, I might have two camera icons and both say camera. I might want to change one of those labels.
Does anybody know of an app that will work with 4.1.2 on the Note 2?
Try Icon Changer Free

Just read through icon changer free and it doesn't let you change the name only the icon in question.

If you are using Nova Launcher you can change or remove labels on the homescreen or maybe you could change the icon to another one so you can tell them apart. If 1 of those does not get used at all by you,you could go to system/app find the one you don't use,re-name it to .bak instead of .apk and reboot. That way it is removed but not deleted.Hope any of those can help.
thanks for the replies. I want to be able to change the icon label in the app drawer as well as the home screen. I don't see a solution here for the app drawer. I am not necessarily interested in changing the actual icon.
Is there a simple way to manually change icons? Not just for homescreen but in the app drawer as well
I don't understand you

Install a 3rd party launcher like Nova. It'll change the icons on your home screen as well as the app drawer. That's after you download and apply icon pack.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jy.iconchanger.ad&hl=en Icon Changer? Idk Ive never used it.
Also I know theres some Icon packages by Black Bear Blanc over in his thread that Themes EVERY icon, no matter what it is.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804627
or look at the icons here on his playstore:

Personally, If I ever feel the need to really change an icon, Ill photoshop it myself and replace it in the res folder of the app and re-install.

Well then there is no easy way to do it. You'll have to do what the guy above me said.

That icon changer app only changes the homescreen icon
So unzip the apps apk with 7zip then replace the icon file in the res folder? I might be able to do that.
I had a Meego Icon pack once that I could just add icons using a template from Nokia. It was packed as an apk so I could just add icons using 7zip and install it.
Do you know where icon pack apks are located? Maybe if I can pull it off the phone then I can add icons to the icon pack
If you're using a launcher like apex or nova you can change the icon and name by holding down the app icon and choosing edit
If that's not what you want then use the icon changer app above
