I'm looking for a seperate boot.img of the jop40d (4.2.1 takju). I'm currently on vacation and the wifi here is horrible, a bit stupid to download 230mb for a file 1mb big. Can anyone post a link or the boot.img itself?
Thanks

insecured is "rooted boot.img" so you can use ADB commands that needs the root permission...

Overkill. Kinda like using a jackhammer to punch a hole in a piece of paper.
The kernel is located in the boot image, so all he had to do was download the stock image from Google's site here, extract the boot image, and flash it.
Hi,
I want flash a Custom kernel but how can I return in stock kernel if necesseraly?
Thx
Sorry for my english

You can use advanced restore, and just restore boot.img. you dont need to restore all.
Download the stock image for the 4.0.4 update for maguro: http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
flash the boot.img via fastboot
fastboot flash boot.img

You may try this kernel. If you like it then stick with it. Some users did comment that after flashing Note2Core the bootanimation will work on other kernel.
Not too sure on this...as I'm using this kernel only.
For this kernel...located at system/media

I just downloaded MIUI.us_toro_V4.12_3.1.25 Does this OS contain the Gapps or do I need to flash Gapps separately? The reason I ask is because the download direct from miuiandroid says that you need to flash both.
Also I presently have an older OS system MIUI-2.9.14 I assume I can use flash over it.
Also if anyone knows How is the new update? Is it worth doing it in the first place.
If its from miui.us u don't need to flash gapps they are included in the ROM.
