Hey, I recently installed cyanogenmod 10 for my wind mobile s3 (SGH-T999v) using ROM manager from the Google play store. Everything works fine except for the play store itself. I don't understand why it shouldn't work because I installed the Google apps zip file using the recovery boot. Other than that I have tried other methods of fixing it but none work. I am still new to the whole rooting scene so any help on the matter would be much appreciated. I really like cyanogenmod 10 and I don't want to go back to the stock settings but I don't really have a choice because I need to have a working play store. If anyone knows of a way to fix this issue that would be great. Thanks

Hello,
I just installed BCM RC2.2U4 GSM on my Desire.
PVT1 AMOLED
16gig Class 6 SD-Card, 2 gig SD-ext
no swap
Stock hboot
latest radio
I went through the Aroma Installer and chose Play Store to install. Dalvik and Apps m2sd.
Everything went fine so far, I booted, did a reboot - then stuck on boot animation.
Pulled battery - second boot worked fine. Everything looks good.
But the PlayStore wasnt installed? Tried the same process again - same.
Then pulled the APK from the gapps.zip from cyanogendmod wiki and installed it myself. Install went through, but the PlayStore keeps FCing. I did clean cache and forced to stop and tried again - same behaviour..
No I dont know what to do?!
Thanks for you help,
David
Additional Info:
Chose Nova Launcher
I came from BCM version b0.3.6_1 so first time with HWA
And I installed the update for Camera Preview fix
If your "Android Market" works, just be happy and let everything as it is. There is no "need" to upgrade to Play Store.
Hi,
well I did have the Play Store on my previous installation, too. And it did work fine!
Just tried it again. I can open the app now and browse all the apps. But when I want to update an App it FCs immediately...
Also I noticed that the Play Store seems not be a system app. It appears under "downladed" in settings->apps

Try to unistall market using root explorer or root uninstall and then extract market .apk from RC2.2U4 or older version and then install it
Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not...
I got it to work with a complete reinstall, this time choosing the "old market " option in aroma.
Still it is shown as play store?! I didn't know about the different apks so I guess I had the regular market before, but it just has a new icon and name.. I was not aware of this.
Now everything works just awesome. Love this Rom!
And thanks for your help!

Okay So I am tired of trying this on my own and failing so heres the deal... I rooted my Kindle Fire a while ago but for some reason something went wrong in the process. I couldn't browse on the internet without getting an annoying error message and the android market wasn't getting installed. So today I tried fixing it.. AGAIn but today I managed to reinstall CM7 and now I can browse the internet with no errors BUT I still can't get the Android market/ Google play store to get installed properly. So everything seems to be working fine but I can't install the market/play store. So can anyone help me? I tried a few guides most were a little out dated.
If anyone can link me to the proper up to date files for installing the google play store app on my Rooted Amazon Kindle Fire ( running CM7) please post here.
Hey. So you need to install the Google Apps (aka Gapps). I couldn't tell if you had outré if you just installed the play store. Either way, I would reflash the Gapps designed to work with cm7. You can access the Gapps from this thread of hashcode's. Just download the right one and flash it with TWRP in recovery or by adb if you're good with that.

thanks but I fixed it, well not really "FIX" but I installed Jelly Bean and everything works great and I like it better than what I was running before so I guess even though I really wanted to run CM7 this was a needed upgrade. Thank you for your help .
I recently bought a Zeki TBD753B. It was cheap thats why I bought it. It has Jelly Bean on it.
I have read through every possible post I could. I found out I had to root the tablet and install google play.
I have followed a lot of the posts I have seen. I was able to root it, but for some reason Google Play just will not work properly. I can get it installed but everytime I run the app it crashes on me after 5 to 10 seconds. I get "unfortunately Google Play has stopped working". I have even used Link2SD to change it from a user app to a system app. At this point it won't even load and i get the stopped working message right away. I can only assume that I am missing some kind of file. I tried the newest versions of Play and even an older version down to 3.5.19. I have tried clearing the data and the catche. I am at a loss.
The only reason It is such a big deal to me is that a majority of the apps I want to download seem to be only on Play.
forget this post
I finally got it figured out.
It had something to do with the version of Play I was using when I installed it.

Which version did you get to work and do you have a link to it?
Hi there,
my old S720t died yesterday (with ICS). I managed to root that one and also install Google Play. Everything worked fine...
Today I bought the same phone again but this one comes with JB and I cannot get Google Play installed anymore. I read many threads in this forum but nothing worked for me. Did anyone successfully install Google Play under Jelly Bean on that China Mobile phone?
If not, where can I get the really latest APKs for the google services?

Thanks Matt95, that actually pointed me in the right direction. Normal market did not work out but installing the black market via CWM recovery has been successful.
Looks like just putting the files in the system/app does not work; but installing the black market zip via CWM Recovery worked perfect. :good:

Okay, so I've had the Galaxy S3 for a while now. It was rooted and was running the original rom. I rooted it to be able to use wifi tether and other applications that weren't available from a non-rooted stock rom. All that said, I have been having issues recently and when I try to load and install the OTA upgrade, it fails to install correctly.
All of this said, I am looking to install the new stable Cyanogenmod 10.2.2 but after several hours, it isn't working.
I've attempted using Odin to root the phone, downloaded, copied and pasted the .zip into the phone along with the latest GAPPS, but the only one that installs is GAPPS, which doesn't really matter because my play store still doesn't work. I do get the "PASS" for the rooting, but without being able to use the play store, I'm pretty much stuck with a smart phone that can make phone calls and nothing else.
I originally attempted to use GOO Manager, but it kept failing and now my backup is no longer available.
Additionally, I have been getting the error "Unfortunately, Remote Control has stopped working" when I try to use the Google Pay Store.
I am looking for the "Root & Install Cyanogenmod 10.2.2 for Dummies" assistance here, as I'm not the biggest techie. I've rooted my phone in the past and had no issues, but this time, I'm at my whit's end and am on the verge of saying @#^% it and just getting the new S4 at a cost of about $200 that I wasn't and am hoping not to HAVE to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
