Facebook sync

I apologize if this has already been asked but how can you get your contact picture to sync w Facebook pictures? Is it available on custom roms?

Ok i have now rest the phone to stock and linked facebook for htc sense and i still cant get my contacts to sync with facebook pictures. A search didnt show much for the evo.

I can;t link anything since I'm stuck as a junior member (for now), but from what I've read this is a Facebook issue and not a Sense issue. Something about Facebooks protocols changed recently and seemingly behind-the-scenes. Until the application is updated it probably won't work.

Try to delete HTC sense from your Facebook apps on the website?

USE THE F'ING SEARCH. Seriously, this problem has been going on for a week now and there are threads with this problem in the title and mentioned 1000 times. Stop being so lazy and looking for spoon feeding of answers.

This may not be the place for this. I'm sorry. I just flashed cm7 and i cant get all of my contacts to display facebook pics. it shows a few of them, and the second thing is that i dont know how to find the visual voice mail apk.... please help.

You will have to install VVM yourself since it's a Sprint app and not part of AOSP.
Search in the general section for a thread on how to do this.
Facebook: First, make sure the names in your contacts match the names on your facebook account exactly. Also check out the free market app called syncmypix.

hi all, browse some chinese forum and found this nice rom, it even start up with Onepiece anime animation! full transparent design and some really nice status bar icon, he even modded the menu. and its snappy.

one thing it does not have is google play (market) and after i installed that, i'm unable to add an account to log in,
it says com.sonyericsson.sync.ui stopped unexpectedly when ever i click done when creating account for sync. all my contacts are save in gmail, ill need it to sync.
just need to know what do i need to look for to make it work, get com.sonyericsson.sync.ui.apk and put it in? or are there other stuffs?
developers help are very much appreciated, hope some one can help me

Have you tried flashing the GB gaps package? It can be found in FXP CM7 thread, should sort your issue out let me know how you go!

in China,we could not used Google services,so usually we delete them by oneself.
so you should add Google services which we had delete.

hey dude i have a way to make Google market work on ristricted countries because i live in syria and i use it all the time
if you need it pm and i will tell it to you
i don't wanna share so that google won't find a workaround

yes i did, it just FC when i try to download, some wont even start

[Solved][ICS] Non-working Google Music Player + Double media entries in Gallery.apk.

Hello,
Here is a solution for the issues with Google Music Player + Double media entries in the Gallery app.
If you see double media entries in the Gallery App and at the same time your Google Music Player doesn’t work, then:
1. Use a root explorer and delete external.db from /datadata/com.android.providers.media/databases/
2. Replace the Gallery.apk in /system/app with the attached Gallery2.apk and give it the right permissions.
3. Reboot and wait for the media to refresh.
4. Done!
Tell me if that works with you. Good luck!

sorry guys, but why i have this problem with all roms except the CM9? i explain.. i was with the CM9 for about 3 month and didn't have this "bug", yesterday i decided to flash aokp with all wipes and have double entries in gallery than i come back to CM9 and the problem vanished. why?

As rescanning all the media can take a while if you have lots of music (I got 12GB so a full scan usually takes 30-40mins), I've figured out a way to fix the issue without rebooting and without the need for a full rescan.
1. Go to /datadata/com.android.providers.media/databases/ and take backups of the external.db, external.db-shm and external.db-wal files when media is correctly scanned.
2. When this issue happens, goto Settings -> Applications and clear data for Google Play Music and force close Media Storage.
3. Restore the backups to /datadata/com.android.providers.media/databases/ and set permissions to rw-rw---- (in Root Explorer).
4. Run media scanner. (Lots of apps for that in Play Store)
5. Wait for a few minutes for Google Play Music to import the database again.
6. Done.

I don't think this works for the newly updated play music released yesterday the 18th of July? I erased my external.db files.. (they had numbers behind them not just external.db) but didn't replace the gallery apk as I am not getting duplicate gallery entries. Any one getting the new Google play music to work with out FC?

In the gmail app, you can only select items individually. There is no select all. So if you have fifteen emails in your inbox and want to delete them all, you need to select each one individually then you can mass delete them.
Doesn't bother me as I rarely have a whole bunch at once to delete. But it would save time.

I wish they would it would only makes sense

I also HATE (I know it's a strong word, but I'm goin there) the fact that I have to go to the web page to permanently delete my email!
Unless there is a way to do it from the app, and I haven't figured it out...
