[Q] 2 quastions ( system apps and rooting) - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys !
My name is Arik and i have been digging around this forum for 2 days and not being able to solve my problems
I have rooted my arc s two month ago, and while me being a newB i accidently deleted too many apps from system/apps/ which made the play store not work anymore
however yesterday i have found a rar file containg all the original apps and i have just installed the missing which fixed it
but i would like to move them back to the system/apps ( which i have tried with using a root enabled file explorer, but getting a "read only" files error )
and to my second quastion
I have tried installing cyanogen mode 9
following the instructiions made my jader on his youtube channel
after pressing the "select kernel to flash" i got a message saying that my device must be rooted first
eventhough it is already rooted ( i have the super user app on my menu)
I have tried doing it again after factory reseting and the same thing happend ( which btw returend the google store problem, which is why i want to move those app files to the system folder)
thanks alot !!
happy new year

Well either one or both hasn't been done properly. So recheck you are actually rooted then do the same with your bootloader.

No, your bootloader is not unlocked. Superuser and SuperSU apps have nothing to do with bootloader, they are not even related to each other!

You can not properly flash .efl files using Flashtools.
Follow The @DooMLoRD's for custom elf flashing.

You have not unlocked your bootloader. Just follow Sony's official guide to unlock your boot loader. After you unlock your boot loader, the status in your service menu should say - "Boot loader unlocked:yes"
Then you will be able to flash the custom kernel.

Rishi Raj Is Right!
Finally I have done it! Yt? Guys for the help
Yea if the bootlooder is unlocked EMMA will not detect and well prompt "unauthorized modification detected "
But if we relock the bootlooder then no one will understand that it was unlocked
I have already tested it §§§§§

EMMA is meant only for unlocked bootloader. After unlocking your bootloader, you won't be able to update using Sony Update Service or PC Companion. EMMA is officially provided by Sony so you can still update

[Q] Please help with Sony Xperia Arc S

Please help as soon as possible, I need this for my work!
I'd put the following ROM on my Xperia Arc S: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290527
But now, I only see the sony logo and not more. I tried to go in recovery, but this also didn't work...
My question is: Is there any way to restore it? I did back-up the previous, I don't need that hardly, all I need is this phone working again!
Can someone give me some steps and/or links that might fix it?
Thank you very much!
Matthijs

Ok, for flashing kernel you need fastboot drivers. I think you can install fastboot drivers while installing Flashtool. You can also use app called QuikIMG. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551073

To flash a kernel you have to have an unlocked bootloader. That's why it tells you the device has to be rooted first. Unlock the bootloader and it should be fine
How to do that is in my guide on how to unlock the bootloader

Is your bootloader locked or unlocked? If it's locked try to unlock it if you can, so you can flash kernel. Here's the tutorial you might need: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034087

I think you've flashed a wrong kernel. Can you tell me which rom you're currently using?

Ok, look, Xperia Ultimate HD is ICS based rom so you need ICS kernel for it, while SJB is JB Rom and you need JB kernel for it. If you want to try SJB you must flash JB kernel (Fusion/Lupus/nAa are those which I remember) after flashing them you can flash the ROM itself.

1 install android sdk from here (just leave all the stuff like it is & press on install packages): http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
2 go to: [install location of android sdk]\sdk\platform-tools put kernel (boot.img) here
3 click in some empty space in this folder, then HOLD [SHIFT] while right click in this folder & choose ''open command prompt here''
4 power off phone. hold the menu-button while connecting to pc. the blue led will lit which means the device is in fastboot mode:good:
5 now in the command prompt enter ''fastboot flash boot boot.img'' it will flash kernel & tell u all is okay.
6 done
i get same fail that device must be rooted first oO its kinda wird because my device is rooted i use SU daily im 100% sure :/ maybe fastboot can't get permission for root but i don't know how to do that :/

okay some guesses.
1. you use win 8/81 ? --> there some driver problems there is a solution here in xda just google. need install these
2 you need install fastboot driver from flashtool in its install dir in driver folder
3 can try this to see if device connected (from sony site):
Enter fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version, and verify that you get a response back (for example "0.3"). This means your device is connected properly.

good luck
No root here means your bootloader is locked...
