How to delete Need for Speed? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

To the Community :
Anyone know where the 1.8 gb or so of NFS is stored? Definitely itching to free up that space.
Also, should I transfer it to my pc so when it's time for the next Android update I can reinstall it, or is that something that's included when I flash the stock rom?
Thanksies in advance..
Sent from the hands down best device yet: the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, using XDA Premium.
Ahh, the JOY of GREAT DESIGN, hard-, firm-, and soft-ware included!!!

internal memory / data / com.ea.games.nfs13_na
Next time you want to search for something download Solid Explorer and use the search function. Very neat. Combine Solid Explorer with Disk Usage for Total Ownage. Good luck!

thanks for your reply.
When I go to "Properties" for /data/data/com.ea.games.nfs13_embed it says it's only 17.99 mb ?

I don't think you actually downloaded the whole game then. You have a demo by the way since the file ends with "embed." Did you ever play the game? If not, I dont think you downloaded the real big game files yet. Either way, download Solid Explorer and search for nfs. delete all the results.
ps - please read the results to be sure they're nfs related though lol who know if some system files contain the letters nfs.

Hes in the wrong folder it should say android/data/com.ea.nfs <<<<< something like that

its strange - when i did it with an empty folder i got a folder and an empty file in the folder - deleted the file..
that's the only way i found to do it so far.
also when the top link is full (50GB i think is max?) feel free to use mine to give you and me an extra gb storage
edit: my account is maxed out

i havent got 50GB - but you can get that much free I think from referrals - Android Police said they maxed theirs out a few days ago on Google+ and I am sure I read at 50GB.
you start with 10, 11 if you sign up from a referral.
Free 25gb here (skydrive)
http://www.appbrain.com/app/sorami-skydrive-beta/shoozhoo.sorami
easier mount as network drive on PC
http://www.gladinet.com/p/intro_microsoft_skydrive.aspx (trail works fine also suports other cloud storage)
Linux
http://skydrivesync.codeplex.com/
also when i registered my phone with dropbox they upgraded it to 5gb (for 12 months) just install the app on your phone after installing on PC
hope this helps...
Without (proper) Android app is SkyDrive useless. Microsoft is suppose to release official one, but I have no idea when.

looks like if you upload a file too, you click on it to open it there's a 'rename folder' option at the top left - so you upload a file it creates a folder automagically which you can then rename - and add more files to that folder
my account is maxed out
50GB storage space
Is it possible to move files between different folders?
Edit:
If someone want he's ref link in first post PM me, as my storage is full aswell (50gb)
So Is started using Minus and I must say the comfort of using it is nowhere near DropBox.

<APP> Post your argument for your favorite file manager!

I've been using it for a long time but still I see people suggesting ES file manager or even Astro. (Not "bad" apps btw) But File Expert is hands down the best file management program I've used for android. Supports root file management, smb, nfs, ftp (and other network shares including clouds) archive management, and bluetooth filesharing. Best of all it is free without ads. Let me know if you enjoy it as much as I do.
Tried it... like root explorer better... probably just because I'm more used to it... might stick with this a little bit to see if it grows on me... hasn't plagued me like es with not mounting rw some of the time so that's a plus....

I just couldn't see this thread and not jump on here to represent Super Manager. Root explorer, APK manager(system too), task killer(system too!), app protector, backup, and way more. And this is the lite version. Go give it a look see!

Antek explorer ftw. Try it, just once. Zip management is slightly wacky but best file manager imo

Root Explorer does multi-select, but I'm not sure what people are talking about when they mention zip files. I'm guessing it's the same thing I want, and that's the ability to remove things from a zip file without having to unzip and rezip it. Adding them would be nice, but just removing them is what I'm after.
Obvious example would be downloading a ROM to my phone, removing some of the APKs I don't want and flash away without needed to use my PC.
FWIW, I've been a Root Explorer guy for a while now, but I used Super Manager quite a bit a while back. I see they have some pretty neat things now. I may have to buy the full version of it and see how that acts.
Totally agree with you on file expert... the http and ftp servers built in are AWESOME and it can do everything else.

I agree. I've uninstalled it because it's just not the same app it once was. I use Root Explorer because I paid for it.
I have tried:
File expert: ok but not as finger friendly and smooth scrolling as I would want. However lots of nice stuff.
Astro: awesome since day one, however no root mounting and access...
Antek: meh boring ugly
Root explorer: liked it for a week or 2 then started to be unreliable...
My best and favorite is:
File Slick
Best regular and root file explorer with themes and finger friendly and reliable, also free and options to turn off ads!
Get it now!!!
It replaced astro and file expert as well as root explorer and the other file explorers I listed

speed up media scanning?

does any one know of a way to speed up media scanning of external_sd and usb storage upon reboots?

in ROM toolbox app they have a tweak for that but ive never tried it to be honest but its located in the peformance tab when you open up the app and of course you must be rooted running a custom ROM
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Try sd booster or sd speed increase in the market. Raise value to 2048 and set on boot . It made a slight difference on mine when booting up.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
most the custom roms already increased the size of the cache for the sd cards...i might be wrong but from what ive read its the cache size that determines the speed ...but as someone posted earlier speed increase worked great when i had my evo...especially if ur on a stock rom

thats because the evo's was defaulted to like, 4. it helped SO much lol. i used the sd booster in rom toolbox on both my evo and e4gt and set it to 2048. worked GREAT on evo. but imho, the speed increase is only slightly noticeable on my e4gt. not so much that i swear by it like on my evo. but, i still run it lol
i'm not really speaking on speeding up the process itself, im more or less wondering if we can get it to trigger faster. upon a fresh flash its always fast, but as time goes by and more and more apps get installed it starts to initiate 20-40 seconds after phone is up and running and lock screen hss already been opened

Add a .nomedia file to folders of any files that you dont need scanned on boot up. I do this to my folders with all my Roms and kernels and anything else that I dont want scanned on boot. This will save a good bit of time if you have alot that it scans. Sorry just read your last comment and i am not sure on how to make it start sooner. I dont know if that is possible.

Weird thing I noticed after playing with that setting is SD card bench marking apps, the read and write speeds slowed down after raising the value.

Sure. Use a file explorer app like astro or es file explorer. Pick the folder u want to do it for. Open it up and create a new file. Name it
.nomedia so for instance if u did this on the root of your SD card nothing would get scanned (btw I don't advise that) hope that helps guys.

What is changing to a new rom going to do for him? If his music is gone it's gone... Unless I'm missing something? Why isn't your music on your computer or somewhere else? How did you get it on your phone, lol? If it some where and you can't find it, pull everything from your storage places and put them on your PC and search both files with in your computer search index and see if you can find them... If they are there, then create a folder named /music and you will good to go. If they aren't there then get new music or however you got them there in the first place.

I would start putting the music somehwere other then only on phone storage, just in case. I've accidentally wiped internal storage once, and I've had External sdcards go bad or just randomly out of no where lose all data in it. make a dropbox and do TiBu once a week and move them there your self with some type of file manager if you don't wanna pay the money for Titanium Backup pro. I also bet all your stuff is there you are just looking in the wrong places. What file manager are you using to look for your "lost stuff"?
