[Recovery] Stock UVLALJ1 [ODIN] - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Stock ODIN flashable .tar.
I made this while learning about ODIN flashables.
Why is the relevant ?
I recently found myself in a bootloop, even after flashing the factory images floating around. For some reason recovery would not boot properly until I flashed it this way. Hope someone finds this as helpful as I did.

thank u

where can I get a STOCK ROM?

like all the links in the dev section have broken links to stock ROMs.
I am just trying to restore my GSM gnex to 100% stock, anyone have a totally stock ROM or link?

I just use ODIN or what?
Im usually an HTC guy and use CWM, so this samsung stuff is new to me, I was going to flash a compiled zip via CWM then use the toolkit to flash stock recovery, but with this tgz file I just use odin instead?
edit:
figured it out, nvm

Going back to rooted stock jellybean ROM from CM10.1

I wish to return to a rooted stock JB ROM from CM10.1 . CM10.1 is too buggy for me, and CM10 had one bluetooth bug in the final release that was kind of a game killer for me. I'd like to go back to stock JB but keep my custom recovery. The only files I've found for stock jellybean are full stock in that they'll flash over my recovery as well as my system. Does anyone know where I can find a root stock image that will let me flash just the system and keep my recovery like any other rom, so that I can flash back to CM10.1 when it is more stable. PS I am also on Linux and do not regularly have access to a windows machine so I do not have access to Odin, or Kies.
after you flash to stock just flash a recovery, that's what i've done.
also, this is the wrong section and you should search first.

I searched and found only "One click" stock roms, and the "Fully Stock" roms. Neither of which solve my problem. Did you even read the portion of my post where I say I don't have access to Odin, or Kies or any of that? My only option for flashing is CWM. And I'm not sure how well overwritting CWM while CWM is flashing would work, but I don't think it would go well.

find a cwm flashable zip of a stock rom. it doesn't need to be a current version. flash that. then find the cwm flashable ota zips and flash those. you've retained root, and cwm. i have done this process as well.
i'd link you to the threads you need but i'm on my phone and it's difficult to find this way.
edit: one of the otas is here. i haven't found anything about updating to jelly bean, though. i know there's a tutorial somewhere about making cwm flashable zips, i might try making one for you after i get my sister to sleep.

go to this link:

find the appropriate version for your carrier and flash via your recovery. its pre-rooted and cwm/twrp flashable, no odin or PC needed.

When you're back to rooted TW, flash the recovery you want with Mobile ODIN.

my mistake. OP, grab mobile-odin and do that since you're already rooted

[Q] Odin Flashable Backup

I have a quick question. I would like to make an Odin-flashable file that I can flash through MobileOdin. I need to be able to do this with the stock recovery (which is no problem, just using this as an example that I won't be using a custom recovery such as TWRP). I've seen quite a few other threads on some lengthy and involved ways to do this. I don't have a problem doing that, however, I need to be sure that these will work with the AT&T SGS3. Is creating an Odin backup the same on all devices? And if anyone has a guide or a simple way to do this, could you post a link? I would really appreciate it!

Soft brick.. need the stock TAR

Accidentally flashed ROM of different note ii variant and believe I got a soft brick...
Ive been reading different forums on fixing it and have a good idea how to using Odin but cannot for the life of me find the stock TAR for my device to use in Odin and set my phone back to stock...
could someone direct me to a download and help me unbrick :good:
Thank you
Here you go. If you are still able to boot recovery just flash through the phone but if not then just unzip a tar file and go though Odin.

Well did it work for you?

[Q] 4.4.2 stock recovery download for install via Odin for sghi317?

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place or if this question has already been asked & answered. I've been searching for an answer for DAYS and haven't come up with anything.
I recently unrooted and reinstalled the stock firmware to my phone by following the instructions and using the downloads located in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal.../rom-att-i317-ucucne5-mj4-stock-odex-t2802189. However, the download did not include the stock recovery and now I'm stuck at the TWRP home screen every time my phone tries to install an OTA update.
Where can I find the stock recovery file for AT&T i317 UCUCNE5 that I can install via Odin? (Which will theoretically and hopefully solve my problem.)
In that same thread, I see a file "CWM AT&T i317 UCUCNE5 Stock *Recovery* Note 2", but I'm concerned that the "CWM" means it's only for those using ClockWorkMod Recovery. Do I need to switch from TWRP to CWM for this to work?
The stock recovery file in the OP will work with CWM, TWRP, or Philz CWM.
