Share your FL16 Tips, Tricks, Hacks, Add-ons - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Good day XDA (We have a first timer here) I have been flashing and having fun with my Epic 4g Touch for a while now and am beginning to try new things and see what works, what doesnt and so on... Which leads me to my first post.
I am running Jellyverse 0.4 fl16 kobridge tw 4.2a build. Which I love, and I just loaded the extended toggle tweak which left me salivating for more!!!!
Link to the above mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35942576&postcount=153
So I would love to add a screenshot link to the power menu or other handy mods and addons. Whutcha Got???
Thanks and I'll see ya round!

Same rom here, Jellyverse 0.4. Here's my setup. I'm not sure if this is what your looking for, but here ya go....
1 - init.d scripts all set to 0755
2 - cpu sleeper running
3 - batter saver app running, when needed
4 - setcpu to underclock 1000max-200min ondemand/noop
5 - connection optimizer off
6 - various pimp my rom tweaks
7 - extended toggles
8 - limit background processes to 3 at most, settings>developer options>apps
Great performance, lots of battery and most importantly....running perfect!

Beautiful!! I am going to check out pimp my rom, first ive heard of it and I am excited!!!! Thanks!!! Anybody else having fun with FL16??

I have Dan's ripple lock screen and the Note 2 gallery which are really cool (both can be found in the apps and themes section).
Edited features.xml to get the homescreen transitional effect and shutter sound silent menu.
Had some issues while running the tweaks so I'm not using any right now.

So does that mean that you have transitional effects on touchwiz? Without a launcher? Do you have more info or a link explaining how to go about editing features.
Thanks!!

Yes the touchwiz launcher. The wallpaper doesn't scroll but it has that cube transition effect. Go to /system/csc/feature.xml and open it with text editor, under launcher you'll see the tilt effect and change it to true, save and reboot.

Would it need to be changed to false?

Enabling Nav-Bar via .buildprop?

On my old T-Mobile Vibrant before it was an option in CM we were able to enable the nav bar by editing the .buildprop. Can you do this on the T-Mobile S3 running CM10?

I'm sorry if my reply wasn't up to your exemplary standards, but I fail to see how was this^ or "Got me there lol did you try Google?" are any better. What I posted was actually a viable option that the Op may not have been familiar with. It allows for an easy addition of the NavBar, customization of the icons, resizing of the bar, and it's based off of the AOSP just as CM is.
Not everybody that posts an alternative is screaming (if you want to do that, you're dumb of not using this). Some are really just informing.

Telling someone to run a completely different ROM is not a solution to "enable nav bar via build.prop" however making a suggestion in an alternative ROM is different then commanding someone to do something. My first post was very helpful thank you very much. As was my second. The op and I were throwing ideas back and forth, I asked if he tried Google because that's what my next option would have been. Not to mention Google is solving his issue, not commanding someone to change their ROM. At least my posts were on topic.
Now to remain on topic, I think the sizing is determined by framework files and values.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I believe size cannot be changed via build.prop. You have to change the dpi but that makes everything bigger or smaller.
Yes you have to decompile and recompile the framework-res.apk to resize the navigation bar or to add power button to it.
Thanks for the replies

Hello. This method works great and actually adds the Nav Bar menu to your phone settings, which lets you modify the position and functions of the Nav Bar (including adding a menu button). Just flash the appropriate zip in the below thread and you should be good to go. There is also a zip for removing the Nav Bar as well.

You wont see any bars in your signal icon unless you flash a skyrocket radio. But at&t speeds are only edge...not 4g...ptmr3 is working on a fix

Stock Samsung keyboard ( Modfied )

Modfied Samsung Keyboard.
Thanks to (Arsaw) for the smali edits.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2110841
Was able to modify the smali settings to enable:
*Long press from 500ms to 300ms
*System Font same as keyboard Keys
*Auto correction enabled.
*Space bar enables Highlighted words.
*Backup your Current Samsung Keyboard!*
*To Enable secondary keys you must have a Rom that has the feature.xml included..
Or add one to SYSTEM/CSC folder. Must change permissions and owner.. Reboot
Feature.xml http://www.mediafire.com/view/?c0hbhfcbuac0rv6
Place APK in SYSTEM/APPS change Permissions and Owner to Root/Root...And Reboot. ..and remember to enable samsung keyboard..
*Modified Apk alone*
http://www.mediafire.com/?4lx9610rj094hh6
*Flash zip*

Strange.. it shouldn't have anything to do with that..The zip only contains the apk and a script to install it and to change permissions...The keyboard is modfied with some smali edits... But might have just been coincidence..
No worky on SkyNote. Side loaded, set permissions, set owner, rebooted. Android was set as default, set Samsung, no keyboard. Rebooted to twrp, wiped caches, fixed permissions, no joy. Went into app manager, wiped caxhe and data, still no worky.

The option is available in root explorer, just long press it. I've noticed one issue with the keyboard. If you don't spell a word the way the keyboard has it, it will continue to auto correct no matter what, instead of allowing you to add the word.

[REQ] MB4 Mods - Transparent Widgets - Ink - Themes

I just flashed MB4 and it seems my transparent Music Player zip, I was using on earlier ROMs doesn't work anymore. Also I wondering; has anybody has taken a crack at Google Keep's widget yet? And last but not least, I use Precious Metals Price Widget and was hoping somebody could tell me (or do it for me. please!) how to get full transparency for it's background. Thanks in advance, any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Any other MB4 related mods are welcome too, like pen-free ink on lock screen, compatible themes etc.
1. The transparent Music Widget from the Alexander Theme thread works!
2. I found a transparent Google Keep in a thread in the S3 forums. The widget is transparent but the actual notes still use the built in colors.
3. Samsung Keyboard Mods By akapaul26 are now compatible with MB4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158377
4. T-Mobile MB4 4.1.2 4Way Boot and CRT-OFF
5. AOSP Theme Deodexed LK8/LL4/MB4 WTH CRT-OFF 4 WAY BOOT + EXTRA MODS

Yes, I am sure they will be. In the meantime I would like to find ones which are already compatible. Surely lots of people are trying various mods and it would be pretty convenient if they could share their results in one place.

That would be awesome, Alexander is my favorite theme out right now. Motomoto00 is good too, but I don't think it has been updated in a long time.

Nope, flashed the transparent zip, added the widget and it works fine. Maybe try clearing the app data or caches. You can also make sure the file permissions are correct, or just fix permissions from recovery.

Try this, copied directly from my system/app folder
https://www.box.com/s/ijb4f6n1cc39tnd142gc <---NON WORKING, DELETED!
I tried attaching it but it says something about a security token being missing. Don't forget to change permissions after moving it.

Wow...works great! This is a must for those of us with gears. Having the screen turn on for no reason when I can read it on my gear was soo annoying.
So...you can delete the odex and apk files an replace them with the odexed version no problems?

What app did you use to mount the system I have tried es and root explorer. Either seem to mount the system as rw although the root permissions are working

ty for sharing and the work..best fix for my 3 since root, and have been searching..donation sent, all options work flawlessly !!:good:
Does this do anything different other than the screen on/off?
I can't stand that the stock messaging app doesn't give you a preview of the message or a pop up.
