Problem In Flashing PARANOIDANDROID

Hi Guys! I've got a problem in flashing PARANOIDANDROID ROM Port by Yasir.
Every time I try to install the ROM i get this error after few minutes:
Creating symlinks
Symlink: some symlinks failed
E: Error in /sdcard/PARANOID... .zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I'm using latest 4EXT touch recovery, JellyHboot as recommended, already tried with full wipe, SD format ( also EXT etc...);
I thought it could be a bad download so downloaded again and got same error.. The strange thing is that I get this error ONLY when i try to flash PARANOID ROM.. With the other AOSP (CM9, 10) , SENSE ROM i don't get any error, just flash fine... so, what can I do!?

that happened to me the first time, all i did was after wipe/factory reset, wipe cache + dalvik then format all partitions except sdcard n it worked. strange coz i do that anyway but with that rom i had to do it twice.

Thanks for your reply Jmcclue ! I've done a factory reset, wipe cache, Dalvik etc (like every time I flash a ROM) but nothing! It just seems that this ROM has some problems with me Jokes apart the strange thing is that when Yasir released PARANOID v1 I've installed it without problems but now with v3 got this problem.. I also tried to flash it on Stock Hboot, just for try..nothing! Really strange.. By the way thanks again!

you r correct. download the "mirror" of v3. i checked md5sum and its correct and i just installed no probs.

Finally I've got it! Wiped everything about 10 times lol but in the end.... I've flashed the one from the mirror as You said! Thanks man!

I've managed to install this rom. It works well (smooth and fast). But I am unable to install all my apps due to memory space problem. I managed to install about 10 apps only.
Anybody has a good idea on how i could install most if not all of my apps?
The rom is good, dont want to revert to my previous rom.

By the way thanks.This was solved already by int2sd, but i had no time to get back to this.

Hey guys. I'm trying to flash PARANOIDANDROID v3.00+ and having exact same problem. wiped & formatted more than 10 times! no salvation so far! Is there any absolute solution?
P.S: I downloaded the Rom from "goo" instead of "mega" (having problems with this host). here is the "goo" post:

Make sure ur on stock hboot, format all partitions except sdcard twice, reboot recovery, flash rom, flash gapps, reboot, open terminal emulator n type "a2sd install" grant permissions then type "y" "n" "y"

installing rom is simple... there is no tutorial... just wipe everything (not sd card ) and install the zip in recovery... thats all...

Whoa there! Kishoke when he said wipe everything he meant data cache and dalvik cache. Always wipe those three. And don't forget to backup! :thumbup:

[Q] [Boot loop][init.d script][HTC Desire] Pimp My Rom

Hi guys, Today i installed the app Pimp My Rom on my HTC Desire, and i was just going through stuff and i clicked install init.d script, then my mobile was rebooting, i noticed it got stuck on a boot loop. Please help me i am really worried about my mobile. I don't want to re install the rom (CM007 [Custom built rom {not made by me}]) as i have around 125-130 apps [SD-EXT 4: 4GB Partition] so please help me guys :silly:

when you install pimp my rom, it gives you an option to download a "Rescue Package" which lets you revert all changes if something goes wrong by flashing the zip in recovery
.
They also strongly advise that you make a nandroid backup before using the app.
Did you do any of that?

if you have 4ext recovery, there is an option to backup only the sd-ext partition.
I would recommend booting into recovery backing up only your sd-ext,
then reflashing the rom, and restore the sd-ext.

[Q] Manual update of CM-10.1.RC-v3.0-[Marvel].zip

I've theCM-10.1-RCelease-Candidate-v2.1-[OWLPROJECT] and i want to update it. Usually it's simple by using the "update" application included in the ROM but I dont have a compatilbile Recovery so it tells me that i have to install update manually!!
I tryed by renamed it in "update.zip" and choose "install update from sd card" from recovery but not work (I have to reinstall rom :crying.
How i can do ?

You can flash an update of the rom by installing the RC3,0 zip without wiping data and cache, but I would recommend a clean flash(Wiping /data, /system, /cache and /sdext if you use it) to avoid any uncessary FCs

so you advice me to do a clean flash wiping all. After i will do this steps?
1. install back version
2. install update
3. install int2Ext
4. install gapps
right? thank you!
I try these steps but it doesn't work... it say that configuration wizard is blocked in an unusual way

i think the only way is make an update of recovery.. so i can install the rom's update from stock application of CM10.1

Try without int2ext4+ perhaps. And wipe system before reflashing .

If the rom works without int2ext4+, you may try int2ext+ (without the 4) as ext4 support may not be enabled in kernel. You will also need to reformat 2nd partition to ext2. But I'd suggest to try link2sd if possible as it has never failed me.

I use INT2EXTV2+ and I don't have any problem for now.

Same problem for me but solved
wipe the data using the superwipe marvel edition application in xda (u can find it in searching forums)
1-flash the superwipe marvel edition
2-flash the rom and REBOOT (reboot is important)
3-after boot completed again switch off and enter recovery flashcamera patch and REBOOT (reboot is important)
3-after boot completed flash int2ext or any use i recommend int2ext2 rather than 4 and REBOOT (reboot is important)
4-Flash GAPPS 4.4.2 kitkat versions and reboot.
NOTE - keep in mind REBOOT is mandatory after every flashing of each component.
I to got the same problem as urs but it solved now in the above process.
