[Q] Kingston microSDXC 64GB (SDCX10/64GB) - Galaxy S II Accessories

Hi all,
Has anyone tested Kingston microSDXC 64GB (SDCX10/64GB) with Galaxy S2? I've read a threads about Sandisk 64GB Micro SD where people often with troubles but made it work. Can anybody confirm the same applies to Kingston card?

haven't used Kingston brand but no problems for me with Sandisk 64GB Micro SDHC in both my Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 both formatted as FAT32.

Finally I bought the micro SD card in subject and so far so good. I've chosen to format it in S2 but I didn't use the option to format it through notification because it suggested to format USB memory which I believe is a built-in memory (some bug?). Instead I chose Settings > Memory > Memory card > Format. The card was formatted to Fat32.

Hi,
I bought it and it doesn't work in my Galaxy S2 with Resurrection Remix 3.1.2 ROM, but in my brother's Galaxy Note 2 with stock ROM works fine
EDIT: I found the problem is in non stock ROMs... Usually they have bad support for formatting new cards because it is low used feature.. Best way is to format it in some device with stock ROM and then put it into your phone.. Strange that formatting in Note 2 didn't work. But since I put it into Note 10.1, then into Ace, then into Mini Pro and in the end into some Symbian running Nokia and afterwards back into my phone, it's working perfectly So one of that phones formatted it correctly

[Q] sandisk 64gb micro sdxc ultra class 10

I recently bought a brand new sandisk 64gb micro sdxc card for use with my e4gt. When I put it into the phone the phone reads it, but will not give me the option to format it. The only option I have is to mount it, but when doing so it just says it is safe to remove which shows that it is not mounting properly. Should I try buying an sd card reader and formatting it on my computer? Or what else could I do to get it to work? Also, it is running stock leaked GA10 rooted.
I have the same micro sd. For it to work on the phone (for me), I formatted it to fat32 and it worked. Most recently I lost my old card on a trip, bought a new one, I formatted it again to fat32, tossed it in the phone but the phone didn't recognize it, but gave me an option to format it which I did. Then it worked. It might have a bit to do with roms too (I was on stock, then moved to a CM rom)
So you formatted in on your computer? If so which sd card reader did you buy? Could you post a link if possible? And thank you.
Just use any sd adapter and use the format32 gui from Ridgecrop. Roms or builds shouldn't matter once it's properly formatted and mounts.
I have the same Sd card. Sniper and Avatar turned me on to that utility.

[Q] Having trouble with my Sandisk 32gb sdcard

Like the title says, When I bought my microSDcard and inserted it in my N7105, it worked fine for a couple of weeks. But all of a sudden it appears" Blank sd card or has unsupported file system". Yes, I thought it was my phone's problem, I tried to format the card in my N7105, but it did not work( tried to unmount and mount but also failed). So i put the card in a card reader and plugged into computer trying to format it in my computer. But as u can see, Failed. I've tried different applications to see if i can solve it, like Guiformat, SDformatter(v3.1, v4.0), Formatting it through Disk Management and H2testw(v1.4), All of them are failed.
Please, i just want my 32gb sdcard come back

is there no one have the same problem like mine
some of us are having a problem with sandisk ultra sd cards 32gb/64 gb...they are working good for 2-3months and suddenly you get these problems...dont know if it is due to custom kernel or due to manufacturing problems on san disk ....
some say on touchwiz roms, you need exfat formatting and on aokp and CM roms you need fat32 because the custom kernels dont recognise exfat formats
all i can say is try to format the card inside phone or use stock kernel and see
Fill no more than 16 gb on your SanDisk ultra sdhc 32gb card. ..solved the issue for me. ..( I also formatted the sd card in phone)
The phone also formats the sd in fat32 format

[Q] P601 64GB sdcard unwritable

Hi folks,
I recently got a 64 GB microsd card ( class 4) for my galaxy note 10.1 SM-P601 ( build:JSS15J.P601XXUBMJ9,Baseband601DDUBMJ1).
This card works fine when I use it on my laptop but I am unable to write it on the tablet.I am able to read the data though.
Below is the list of what I have already tried and failed.
1)I have tried rebooting,remounting reinserting
2) As the default format was exFAT I reformatted it into fat32 using fat32 formatter.
3) I tried partitioning the card on laptop into 2 32gb partitions and then using it on the tablet.
4) I have tried SD card accelerators from Play store.
Once I mount the sdcard it shows TOTAL SPACE: 62.5 GB in Settings->General->Storage.When ever I try to write the card it somewhat gets unmounted and shows TOTAL SPACE :0.0 bytes.
Please suggest a solution to make it work

Have you formated it in the GN 2014?
Also, I wouldn't use a Class 4.. Just my opinion.
Also, they have some bad 64gb cards out there.. I would get a name brand 64gb class 10 from BestBuy, Staples, etc.. Format it GN 2014. If everything works, then the problem was the sd card.
I have a Sandisk Ultra 64gb Class 10 in my GN 2014 and my Note 3.. both work perfectly.
Hi gurus,
The Idea is to make the the 64 gb card (that working fine on my laptop) work on my note 10.1.
Please help .
What could be the possible reason.

As you have tried several things, can you please tell us exactly what your situation is now so we can help you.
If the card is a used one, it may have been formatted as FAT32, to work in a non-Sdxc compatible device. The Sdxc capable note may boycott the card because of violation of the specs, so reformat it to exFat.
It was similar with 4GB SD cards, which shall not exist by spec, but worked fine in Sd devices, not in Sdhc ones.
Experiencing the same

Hi maainux, I'm experiencing the same problem here, have you found any solution?
Mine is a SM-P601 / Android 4.3 / Build: JSS15J.P601UBUBMJ4 / Baseband: P601UBUBMJ1 (Fully Stock)
I tried 3 64gb micro sd card: SanDisk Ultra, Samsung, and a generic one. For both 3 the same results, as following:
1 - If I let the tablet format the card (exFAT), it can be mounted but gets suddenly unmounted when I try to write on it and shows TOTAL SPACE :0.0 bytes just like yours. I installed BTSync, when I tried to configure the sync on the tabled by selecting the sd card as the destination folder for the files, the app give a message saying it don't have permission to access that folder and gets unmounted. Tried rebooting, remounting, reinserting, and nothing change.
2 - If I format to fat32 as a logical partition using Minitool Partition Wizard, I get the same behavior as above description.
3 - If I format to fat32 as a primary partition using Minitool Partition Wizard, I can create folders but can't delete them, when I try to delete via "My Files" it says "deletion failed". I tried ES File Explorer, get the same. I was able to configure BTSync, it can copy the files from my PC folder, but when I delete some file in the PC it can't be deleted on the tablet and the BTSync app shows a message stating it can't identify the destination folder on the tablet.
I have some micro sd cards laying around, tried SanDisk 32gb, 16gb and 8gb, both 3 worked flawlessly on the tablet. I noticed the tablet format any <32gb card as fat32, and the 64gb as exFat, this make me think that was related to file system format, but it's not. Seems something related to permissions, like the KitKat 4.4 guys are experiencing. The point is I'm completely newbie on Android and have ZERO knowledge on Linux/Unix, so I have no Idea on how to solve this.
Can you guys help me?
Thanks in advance.
Hi guys
have you found any solution?
Thanks

128GB Micro SD Card....Do They Work?

Interested in this phone for the specs, and the fact it has root...xposed etc...
Does this phone support and work with 128GB micro sd card.
Was looking at a 32/64gb model in Red.
Hello, this is ASUS_USA. Zenfone 2 model ZE551ML Micro SD Card slot supports up to 64GB
Yes, I am using the Lexar 128 633X in the 551ML 4/64
Here is a picture of the card and the phone.
You should be able to use any sdxc card as the 64gb card is sdxc... If a 512Gb sdxc micro sd card came out you would be able to use this...
And yes I have tested a sandisk 128Gb micro sd card in my xenfone 2...
I am using the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (4GB RAM, 32GB ROM) and can confirm that a Sandisk 128GB MicroSD card works fine . Mine is formatted with FAT32; i am not sure whether ExFat would be supported as well.

exFat is and OTG USB sticks work fine too... I have a 64Gb OTG card that was working brilliantly with it earlier, shame a friend wanted to borrow it cos I was gonna load it with stuff to do at work tonight...
Looks like Im going to have to pick up a 128gb sd card soon. Thanks for comfirming this since I was wondering the same thing for my Zenphone 2.
I'm running a Patriot 128GB microSDXC myself.
By the way, whats the best type of external microsdcard to use?
Do we need to be choosy in buying??

I always like a good ol' SanDisk
I'm just gonna add a little bit more here, You need a FAT32 formatted sd card for firmware updates if you are doing it manually and haven't rooted yet. The stock recovery won't recognise an exFAT formatted card (which is what most 128gb sd card are formatted) so when you put the update file on your card your card won't be recognised by the recovery.
Rooted with latest TWRP recognises card fine...
In anyone wants to know, I'm using a PNY 128GB card (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OP2P0ZO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00).
Stock everything. No issues with the ZF2 recognizing the card or accessing.

Seems like a lot are testifying that 128gb is working with their Zenfone 2. My question is will prolonged use of 128gb sd cards have any problem in the future?

Pretty sure you can't have any more info than what's currently available. The phone's only been available for a few months, that's as long as testing with 128GB exFAT or FAT32 will indicate stability for. Card size has no impact on a phone's microsd reader, just like sock size has no bearing on the size of a person's genitalia
FWIW I got a 128GB exFAT a week ago and haven't had any issues. If your phone has issues reading any card, it'll typically have trouble reading every card. Special exception is for devices that software/hardware don't support larger than 32gb, exFAT or Class UHS1 speed cards. Your Zenfone2 supports greater than 32gb, exFAT, and Class UHS1.

Our only choices for backups using ASUS backup are internal device or SD card. If we can only use up to 64GB, some backups might not work if they are larger than that (apps and data) or close to that in size.
With unlocked bootloader and root I have no problem accessing the exFAT 128gb sd card even while using TWRP recovery.
Not sure if the newer roms support exFAT or I have a magical Zenfone 2 but it did an OTA update with the OTA file on the sd card ... No renaming of the file was needed...
My model ZE551ML is not reading exFat 64GB card. Can it be formatted to FAT32 or should be replaced? My PC is only giving me exFAT file system when I try to format it!!!

Mine (I think) is formatted FAT32 and works fine. It's just you cannot have any individual files over 2GB in size.
EDIT: Never mind. I just checked via mount command and it is listed as "texfat". Guess I didn't reformat from when I bought the card.
exFat doesn't seem to be readable at all!! Can it be converted to FAT 32?? Thanks.

[Q] New 64GB microSD not compatible?

Hello,
I just received my new Samsung 64GB card from amazon.
Formatted it FAT32 (using EaseUS Partirion Master), copied all my stuff back on, and installed into my Note 2.
But it is not recognized, or can't mount. Can't be seen in recovery. It's 64GB Class 10 Micro SDXC, just like my old one (except the old one was Sandisk).
Could I be doing something wrong? Thanks for any advice.
-Mike
Format it in your phone first then copy everything back over.
