If it was working before, I dont think it is hardware related. Download and flash a new modem. Or download your stock rom with your contry specified modem. while flashing custom rom, dont update modem.
That shall do it

happened to me as well after a nandroid restore.
Just reflash the modem. I also had a EFS backup and restored that also. Worked like a charm.
If that doesn't work, then ODIN a stock ROM - it should definitely do the trick. Be mindful though that it will erase your internal SD card unless you go for the modded ones.

i did every thing not working .. i took it to the service centre they say the radio is broken .. and corrupted coz of flashing the rom and now i hav given it to samsung to change the motherboard

Hmmm - tough one.
I guess this could only happen by flashing a wrong modem software...
Hope you get it fixed soon

Not registered on network

So I'm running Omega V8.0 and suddenly my phone stopped making calls or sending SMSs or getting a data connection. I checked the imei, it's not the real one, instead it's 00499-something-.
I thought this might be a damaged efs problem so I restored my efs from a backup but still the imei is the same.
Any way I can change it back manually? I have been researching for days but I can't find any reliable fix.

And finally you have paranoidandroid or back again in the previous rom? With a little search in the forum i found this "Hey...I found out why I didn't have service and was able to fix it. When I had flashed AOKP, there is a setting in the Mobile Networks screen to change the CDMA subscription to RUIM/SIM. Somehow (probably playing around) I changed it from the NV to RUIM/SIM. THEN, I nandroided back to stock, and had no service. As far as I know, that CDMA Subscription option isn't on the STOCK ROM...so I was baffled. Good thing I remembered what I did."
Try it and report..!

i'd recommend that you flashed again your previous rom to see if it is rom related or not. I ve read somewhere that some people had problems with the signal when flashing aokp.

i going to take it to the samsung cc....... lets see what they will say about this problem
I am suffering a very similar and strange problem. I have a Dmc3 deodexed and rooted Rom with NEDLK1 baseband (3 ITA operator) since 3 months. I have done nothing special (no new apps nor flashes) in the latest weeeks. I have never flashed any other ROM. But 2 days ago I saw NO service. I have correct imei, could even surf the web but no telephone functions. Rebooting the phone did not work.
I thought of a SIM card issue and yesterday I asked my operator for a new sim. While I was waiting the new sim to be enabled, today I pushed in my Note 2 another SIM by another operator. After some hours I had the same trouble with this SIM.
So the problem is the Telephon. I don't know if hw or sw, but there is an issue.
Now to see what may be, first I changed the baseband Modem and flashed a stock XXDLK7 and inserted the new Sim inside. Now I will wait and see.
In case of continuing issue, I will try and go back to full stock operations.

Hello guys. I had the same problem, and it was a hardware problem. The solution is really simple: put onto the left of the camera, inside the chassis, a small piece of papero of 3 mm. It's enough to strenght the connections of the flat of the SIM card connectors to the motherboard

Ace 2 Unknown baseband/blank imei/phone unknown.

Cant fix it even tried 10 diffrent firmware..But cant restore baseband or imei..any1 know how to fix it ?

not worked bro :/
It happens with me as well(unknown imei & imei sv)... & get fixed by reboot. But it happens only when I try to activate Airplane mode & the phone hangs in the process...
If installing stock firmware doesn't fix ur prob., then give it to care centre coz it's not in ur hands now...Only they can solve it out!!
To fix unknown baseband and null imei, dial *#197328640# and choose [6]Common and select [1]FTM and press [2]FTM: OFF 2 times... and reboot your phone... and dial *#06# to check if your imei appears...
I got the same problem!

IMEI number on i9082 is garbled, No Calls/SMS

Greetings Folks,
Yesterday, I was trying to install the Resurrection Remix Kitkat ROM on my GT-i9082, and it got installed fine, but I wasn't getting any network, no network bars. So I tried that SIM in another phone, and it works fine. That thread said that this might happen, and I may need to flash another modem, which I did, but still nogo. Here is the loist of 3 different modems which I tried:-
I9082XXUBML1 (INU)
I9082XXUBMK3 (INU)
I9082XXUBMJ3 (INU)
I had taken a ROM backup through ROM Manager before flashing the new ROM, so I tried to restore that backup. Restore completed, and I could now see some network bars, but I still couldn't make calls/sms. I noticed that my IMEI number was coming up all garbled, which is probably why I can see signal bars, but can't make any calls/sms. I tried a different SIM in this phone too, and same issue. I have 2 old ROM backups taken from ROM Manager when the phone was working fine, but no separate EFS backups taken, as I wasn't even aware what EFS was until now. I know what the IMEI number is for both the SIM slots. Is there any way I can fix this?
EDIT:- The funny part is, in the status bar, I can see an "Insert SIM" icon, as well as full Network bars, even though there is no SIM inserted in either slots. Sounds fishy?

the same problem
I had the same problem after flash any custom rom the network working and the calls /sms not worked . this problem disappear after flashing official rom.

Elephone p8000. I think i messed up bad.

Ok so i got the phone is stock form with android 5.1 and a few bugs common to this phone( screen flicker and poor wifi speed). I read more than a few forum posts that said flashing the rom to various other roms would fix it and this wasn't my first modded phone so i did. I am not too sure these flashes took as android looked and acted the same as well as had some of the elephone software. It did however screw up the phones imei. after a google search i reset the imei. I no longer have the invalid imei message but now i have a big NO SERVICE message. This is the us market phone. I really hope you cant somehow change the frequncy bands by flashing the rom. any help would be awesome.
Ps. the screen still flashes.
edit: ok tookjfer671's advice and flashed the us rom. it killed the imei (again) so i reset the imei. now somehow the imei numbers got on the wrong sim cards. They are backwards. will this affect anything ? they wont reset at all.
Edit 2 I guess you can mark this one as solved. The reflash with the us ROM worked but the backlight still flickers. Not a launcher issue the entire screen goes dark and its random.

Yup, I believe the US version B doesn't have any other alternative custom roms to flash...although you can root. Version A (Asia/Europe) regions have a whole lot of roms to choose from...it would've been nice if we could flash those as well and keep the baseband out of it so we don't lose network connections.
Anyways...I flashed as well a version A rom and found myself with a no connection to my network (everything else worked fine), flashed the link above and got device back to full working order. Hope it helps you out.

Sorry for late reply...I was rooted with the A version and on TWRP recovery, flashed stock recovery then flashed B version and now on CWM recovery. All using flashtools.
