[Q] Stuck on CyanogenMod 10 loading screen - HTC One V

Hello, first off apologies for being a stupid noob.
Here's a bit of background as to what happened to get my HTC One V stuck on the CyanogenMod startup spinning circle screen.
I unlocked my bootloader, I flashed ClockwordMod Recovery, I performed a backup of my stock rom, then I rooted the phone. All of this worked well to my knowledge.
Then I connected my phone and as per the instructions on this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996761) and I extracted the boot image from the ZIP (I copied it out, it remained in the folder) and flashed that in fastboot. That seemed to go okay too. It was at this point I realised I forgot to put the zips for CWM10 and Gapps on my SD card....oops. I don't have an SD card reader and I couldn't find a way to access the SD card in the recovery (I tried mounting it from the menu but it didn't seem to do anything).
At this point I figured I really need to get the zips onto the SD card so I can finish the flashing process, but the only way I can get onto the SD card is to connect the phone to my computer, so I rebooted the phone and then became stuck on the HTC One V screen. I don't know the technicalities of it, but I then thought it was something to do with flashing the boot.img and then not following through with the rest, so I thought why not just reflash my stock rom from the backup I had made and start again.
So I went back into recovery, installed my backup from there and hoped it would work, but nope still stuck on the HTC One V booting screen.
Then I hada "brainwave", I'll put the SD Card back into my old phone (HTC Hero), connect to my computer, add the zip files, then put the SD card back into the One V and flash the boot.img again, then flash the CWM10 zips from the SD Card. This all seemed to work again, but no, I'm still stuck on the CyanogenMod circle loading screen.
Sorry for being so clueless, but I figure where I went wrong was forgetting to have the zips at hand for flashing when I needed them, then when I rebooted it without them I just messed something up.
Any help would be very much appreciated, I've managed to brick my Christmas present within an hour of getting it

[Q] Another Is IT bricked! question.... please help

my desrie has been running fine until today.
was running the open desire rom but changed the pinky desire 1.8 a few weeks ago.
when using phone today a few apps kept force closing so i decided to reboot the phone.
it kept sticking on the loading screen, it would go black for a second as if it was about to load as normal but then it would loop back to the loading screen.
i tried factory reseting from clockwork recovery console then wiping cache and data and then re installing a rom.
now it just sits on the first HTC screen the one you get after powering up.
EDIT ; i have googled and had a bit of a search for answers. have tried most of them with no positive results.
have probably made things worse,
while waiting for a possible reply on here and various tinternet searches for my problem i was tryingh all sorts to get it working again.
and have now wiped the SD card data completley. so now i cant load a rom from the SD card.
i tried coping my sd card back up data from my pc back on to the card but it cant run the update.zip file to get into the recovery mode.
will i have to use my gold card to get some sort of working rom on my phone now?
OK first thing to try is ensure the SD card is formatted correctly, so boot into recovery and partition the SD card. You want 0swap, 512EXt2, and rest fat32. Then still in the partiton menu upgrade ext2 to ext 3.
Once that is done, while still in recovery you should see an option for usb toggle or or something it's called. With the usb lead plugged in this will mount your SD card on the computer so you can copy your rom onto it.
From there you should be able to flash in the usual way.
Edit: just re-read your second post, and realised you can't boot into recovery. You will need a card reader to put the update.zip on, or you should be able to flash an ruu. You'll likely need your goldcard for that, and then re-root afterwards.

i take it i dont need my gold card if my phone has been debranded?
the stock roms are ruu files and all the guides i have read including
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189
this one im guessing you need your phone to access htc sync..
if my phone is not loading up how can i put a stock rom or unroot from the recovery console?
i have managed to put back in the fake flash update zip and have that working now at least.. tried installing a custom rom zip from the SD card from recovery console on the phone but it is still stuck on the HTC screen.
Have u tried a stock rom, running an RUU? Do it like this enter bootloader and connect the phone to the computer it should be found by the computer, in your phone should apear fastbootUSB or bootloaderUSB, something like that..
Hope it works
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
case closed, thanks for the help and input guys..
i followed the guide
from benko286
1. Download this
2. Turn off Desire and then turn it on while holding back button to enter bootloader(white screen)
3. Once in "white screen" press power button again to enter bootloader
4. Connect Desire with PC
5. Press Volume Down and than Power to enter Recovery
6. Now the red triangle should show up, go to folder you downloaded file and press recovery-windows.bat, recovery-mac.sh or recovery-linux.sh depending on which OS you have
7. Now you are in recovery mode (green screen), press Wipe and than Wipe data/clear storage, than press optical tracker to confirm it
8. After that press Volume Down to go back to main menu in recovery
9. Navigate to Flash zip from sdcard using optical tracker, select .zip confirm it and wait until process finish, after that press Reboot system and unplug you Desire
10. Enjoy your new ROM
and it worked, for some reason i couldnt flash the rom using clockwork recovery mode, but this worked a treat..
was really pooping it cause i thought it was game over and welcome to a posh shiney door stop..
Nice one. Glad you got it sorted.

need help with looping boot

Hey guys. I rooted my phone and it worked great. I installed clockwork and saved my ROM to where if I went to another ROM I could set it up easier. WRONG! So now I have wiped my data and cleared my cache and reinstalled revoked. when I reboot the phone it just keeps booting up on the white HTC EVO 4G screen. I have let the phone site for 30 minutes and when I came back it is stilling rebooting to this screen for a couple of minutes, then reboot to this screen and repeat. How can I fix this?????
right now I have wiped my data again, cleared storage, and installed unrevoked again. It now says install from sdcard complete. What do I try from here??
Need to choose zip to install to sd card
Then navigate to the rom zip that you downloaded/choose
That should load you up, sounds like your rooted and now just need to flash your rom of choice. Good luck
Swyped from a galaxy far far away......
ok I wiped date, wiped dalvick, cleared storage. I then ran unrevoked. I then went to the sd card to unzip my ROM and it wasnt there! So I pulled the battery, I pulled the SD card and inserted another card which I installed the PC36img.zip on. I did a hard reset and it booted into HBoot. I then went into recovery and I then went to install zip from SD card. I choose the PC36img and then it did something really fast and I couldnt read what it said. I did see clockworkmod at the top. I then rebooted and now the phone goes to the HTC EVO 4G screen for about 1 minute then reboots and does it over and over. Im stuck and I dont know what to do.......
It sounds to me like you need to zip a rom to your phone.
Put a copy of the zip of your rom of choice onto your desktop and plug your phone into the computer.
Boot your phone into hboot. (volume down + power)
Choose recovery
When you are booted into recovery choose usb-toggle option.
Your phone should then show up as a storage device and you should then copy your zip to the sd card.
toggle usb off
Wipe data, cache, and dalvik-cache
Flash zip
Reboot
The initial boot might be a bit long, but your phone should be up and running. If so you should perform a backup, and then save that onto your computer to avoid loss if anything should go wrong.
*you don't need to keep flashing the pc36.img file, and you don't need to keep running unrevoked. you should already be in root with nand unlocked, so just flash a new rom like Myn's or Fresh or whatever you want
I got it. Thanks for your help!

[Q] Desire is stuck in a boot loop

Hello. My HTC Desire, that was rooted and flashed to a LeeDroid ROM back in July, just stopped working today. I was listening to music earlier today when all of a sudden it stopped. I took a look at my phone and it says "Unable to play file" or "File not supported"
My phone restarted and it was just stuck in a boot loop. I tried going into recovery but everytime I got there, it restarts again. I was out of options so I went to recovery and erased data and then went and tried to flash a new ROM (CM7). It installs but again it gets stuck in a bootloop.
Any ideas what's wrong?
How is your sd card partitioned? I had the same problem when my 8gb sandisk was damaged. It would still work as an external fat partiton, but forget about using it as an extention to the internal storage.
It has happened to me too, just as you described.
I was able to revert to some old nandroid backup of leedroid 3.0.8.2
Any new rom results in reboots, or something doesnt load completely and im stuck on the unlock screen.
I suspected the SD card but it wasnt it... Replaced and same result
I now suspect the internal nand mem (flash) but couldnt find a way to test it...
If anyone knows the source or solution to this problem please post it
Thanka
Hey, I think I fixed it.
I took out my SD Card, and in my computer, I formatted it (quick format). I put in another rom's zip file in there (I used Cyanogen Mod).
I booted into recovery, went to install zip from SD Card, chose the CM zip, installed it. After installing, while in recovery, I went back and selected clear data and memory (something along those lines). That will remove everything currently on your phone.
From there, I rebooted and everything seems to be working okay.
What if you try some other mod?
Something with sense 3.5 for example ?

go for it. But I think the key here is that in recovery, after installing your rom, you need to clear the memory.
Or try doing that first before installing a new rom
Yes, after flashing a ROM do a FULL wipe.. and everything will be okay.... you can trust me! after all you're taking advice from a drunk man!

[Q] Need Help to Unbrick Phone

Hey all,
Recently I tried to format my sd card from my phone to create extra space, as it was getting clogged up. I pressed unmount, expecting to mount it again as the format option was greyed out. However, I was unable to get it mounted again (ie my phone no longer recognises a sd card is inserted).
I tried to perform a factory rest to get my phone back to the settings it should have once had. However it didn't manage to do this properly and now its stuck at the htc logo screen. Formating or partitioning the sd card didnt do a thing.
I can get into the bootloader, and it was rooted beforehand. I was running the official Miui ROM. Now I am unable to start my phone normally, nor get into access my sd card.
Unfortunetly, I have had my phone for quiet a long time now so I doubt the warranty is still valid. I need help urgently.
Thanks in advance.
Try clearing cache and data and then install a new rom for example Jellytime r26.2.
if it dont work the first time try one more time. I had the same issue ones and had to install the rom twice before it worked.

Are you S-OFF? Can you get into recovery? through the bootloader? If so, just flash a new ROM through recovery.
How did you try to do a factory reset? If you can get into the bootloader, go to recovery if you have it. Then see if the sdcard is being recognized or not. If it is getting recognized, put the zip of any ROM on it and flash it after wiping like the guy above me said.
Post what your bootloader screen says here. Your phone is far from being bricked as far as I know.
RESOLVED
I've managed to resolve this issue. For the benefit of others I will explain what I did.
1)I went into fastboot mode and connected my phone to my pc (running windows 7). Using cmd I reflashed the recovery image.
2)Went into recovery and installed a custom ROM.
I hope this helps you as it really saved my life.
P.S Cheers for all the help guys, you've been amazing!

I formated and wiped all the data i could from the phone itself and the from recovery. Lucky you were right about me being far away from bricking it completely.
Since I firstly unmounted my sd card from my phone settings, it didnt get recognised at all. I couldnt mount it again. So i formatted it with windows, then in recovery made a backup image despite the phone being stuck in bootloop. That allowed me to finally access my sd card for some reason.
Then as you all suggested, i just needed to reflash everything, including recovery using fastboot.
Bit of a strange scenario really
Lesson learned ? :
1.) If youre going to start from scratch then start in Recovery;
2.) wipe all partitions (twice)
3.) enable USB drive and transfer new ROM to SD Root
4.) flash new ROM

hi lachy92, by formatted all the data, you mean wipe data/factory reset in the recovery? coz i have same problem with you, i tried to install new rom from the recovery, but the recovery always shows cant open sd card, installation aborted, can you help me pliz

***edit***

unlocked bootloader no problem, installed cwm recovery (cdma) no missues, but when running bat file from primo superboot pack, cmd prompt screen says downloading boot image, and sticks. phone screen stays in 'htc quietly brilliant' screen with develpoer message in red... no other action after ten min... Also, while in recovery, it wount mount my sd card as if I was going to flash a zip... Any and all input GREATLY appreciated!
***EDIT***
So I re-downloaded primoC pack and got root, installed cwm recovery, but although my sd card is read fine within the normal confines of phone use, (file explorer, music app, even through usb to pc, etc,) no recovery program seems able to access my card... That being said, obviously I cannot back up stock rom and I dont think I can flash new roms... titanium back up performed a data back up with no issues. Tried back up after erasing sd card and even tried my 2gb card thats been lying around for no reason, still no luck.
Currently formatting card and attempting again.
***EDIT 2***
no further help needed...
Are you using the superboot pack for primoC?
Are you doing it in fastboot mode? If not, do it

Im going to re-download the primoC and try again, but yes, Im pretty sure thats what I was using.
And I was definitely in fastboot.
I was having trouble getting a cwm recovery to function, so i flashes twrp CDMA and it works fine, except my sd card will not mount, under any circumstances.
Oh, I even got the install_superboot app to run, my phone booted on & off a few times and rebooted, but after a root-check app ran, it said I dont have root,so what the f? LOL
