PDF reader with a good pdf selection interface - Nexus 7 Themes and Apps

Hey
I am looking for an app with a pdf selection like the play magazine app or something other. I am tired of book cases
Thanks

"Or something other", in that case Mantano Ebook reader (premium). The best one that i've come across so far

I just checked out that app. Its very smooth. I hate stutter when flipping through pages. The iPad excels with PDFs and epub files. Annotation with Mantano requires the paid version though.

Oh, I've been using the premium version far too long to remember that. The only downside with Mantano is the price I guess.

I don't care about price. I like to help out development of apps by contributing to the Dev. $7 could be wasted on something else, so why not an app that I like?

Most of my time in nexus 7 is spent on reading and annotating PDF files. There is unfortunately no single PDF solution. My favorite is ezpdf reader. Lots of options for editing PDF files. I also use repligo and iannotate . must say most are not free.

Until that time, iAnnotate is the best in my opinion, it's free.

Of course ezpdf reader is the best.

ePub Reader

Does anyone know the best ePub reader to install on the One X? I have a few books I am currently reading and want to be able to import and/or access them on my phone ideally.
Thanks.

What a brilliant app; it can even open and access books that are stored on my dropbox. Thanks for the recommendation.

Well, IMO, Moon+ Reader is the best. Tried Cool Reader, Aldiko, Go Books and bunch of others but found moon reader is better. Ridiculously customizable, fast and clean. You could give it a shot.

Still using montano pro. Love it.

I like Aldiko, but it has 2 issues: lack of highlight text option and 3 dot menu bar on One X. I've been using Mantano and I'm pleased with it.

I am using aldiko reader alot, but find moon+ also a good alternative

Agree with Moonreader. It's brilliant, and is also the only one I've found that fully supports ics, so no 3 dot menu bar at the bottom!

Just tried Aldiko which is really good... Going to give Moon+ a try a little later. Thanks for the advice.

ePub reader?

Anybody know a good epub reader with an excellent interface?

I had moon reader but tried mantano recently. Both of them are good but i find mantano is very well polished. Try both of them and see what suits your taste.

Moon+ Reader has excellent page flip. Like IPad. Have to turn it on though. See options.
Aldiko is one of the best ebook reader on the play store. It doesn't have a page turn animation(just slides).
Another good reader is kindle, if you take the epub file and covert it to mobi using zamzar, then put it in the kindle folder.
I like Mantano reader. It's good for epub and PDF.
Fb reader has a lot of options

The new Aldiko UI is beautiful, but no page flipping.
Aldiko is what my GF swears by although I did notice FB reader today that has got screen lock

I think the nook app does epub exceptionally, just save the epubs in sdcard/nook/mydocuments really nice reader app and not limited to their store
And very nice page flip.

Mantano is current best for epub, works great with PDF too.

Mantano ( I have the premium version) is good for epubs. Not sure about the animations cause I never use them if it has it I would have turned it off in the initial setup and never looked back. It looks very nice and polished. Alot of sorting and viewing options for the bookshelf/ library area. You can tag books and also create collections and even sub-collections (which I LOVE :victory.
Moon+ reader is also nice. My pet peeve there is that you can't sort by date, like sort it so I see the most recently added 1st which kinda annoys me . The premium version says that it allows you to password protect the app itself. I guess that comes in handy if you are reading some questionable/embarrassing things

You should, with the latest update the page turn animation with epub files is just butter, slick and real.
Not sure if there is one for pdfs
I've tried all the readers mentioned and have bought a few, but my current favorite is moon+. its the visually most appealing, and I love its dropbox support for synced books. I also like that it gives number of pages left in chapters.

Aldiko, but like everyone else said, there isn't a page flip animation.
OK back and found a good reader called moon+reader it has loads of nice options and page turning. I am using the free version but you can also pay for a pro version.

My vote would be aldiko. I don't even like to read the books I've purchased from B&N using the nook app, aldiko there also
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Just bought Mantano here, I've tried them all and this is the nicest one I've used, its fast to load, loads all the book covers quickly and it has night mode and nice cataloging features to group your books, all the rest just didn't feel right to me, thanks for the mention of Mantano as I didn't know about till this post

I tried all of the readers suggested here and none of them have a 3D page flip animation?
Is there a way to use the Google Books app to read epub files?
Moon reader has the 3d page flipping animation, at least that is what I see in the pro version.

Best PDF reader for big files rendering

Hi
I have a collection of magazines in PDF some of those are 90MB files and I wonder what would be your recommendations for a good PDF reader that can render files quickly when moving from one Page to another, I'm currently using Kindle for this but I don't think is fast enough with pdfs.

I'll be honest, I realized almost by accident that the android Kindle app really does a good job on my larger sized files.
Mantano premium is the best but is expensive

RepliGo Reader was the first app I bought, when the G1 first came out. Handles everything I throw at it and more. Best $2 I ever spent on an app.
I'm currently reading a 95MB magazine PDF on it with absolutely no problems.
I still haven't found one that does everything perfectly.
I haven't tried EZPDF yet, but RepliGo is what I'm using right now. It's not as smooth as some of the others, and doesn't render as quickly, but I find it's the most reliable. Some of the others get stuck during scrolling, or scroll weirdly.
I'm waiting for someone to release a perfect PDF reader.

I have the premium version and its slow for large PDF. I have many PDF with graphics, charts and diagrams and the apps choke on opening this. Going to the next page results in "loading..." message for about 1-3 seconds..painful when you are reading.
I found out that Adobe Reader is the fastest, but I really miss horizontal scrolling like in the kindle app and EZ PDF REader.
Thanks for your opinions!

Select "Single Page" in the View Mode option and you can swipe left and right.
i'm struggling to get a decent experience viewing building / construction / architectural plans. The file itself is no more than 2mb. However I suppose it is a graphically intense pdf, compared to say text.
Kindle reader seems to be working the best!.....but it's really not a viable solution....
Any other ideas??
+1 for kindle. Wish it had bookmarks though.

Weird... I'm using fairly large pdfs with graphics and even on the stock pdf reader I barely ever have to wait for loading between pages. DTG pdf is even a tad faster in my experience.
I recently found RADAEE PDF reader, it's fast enough rendering 100mb pdfs, however the app UI its really bad some pro features must be unlocked using PayPal, for basic pdf reading is ok.

For heavy graphic files I noticed that adobe reader is a bit faster than ezpdf. The latter however is my first choice for daily usage.

very very smooth imo.
I've tested maybe all readers.
But no one give me experience like on iPad 1,2, 3 with goodreader app.
Why it is not possible on android to view technical structure and large pdf files?
Is iOS using graphics chip to render them?
How can we get the pdfs rendered fast on android too?
Edit: ok, have to say adobe renders fast.
But why there's even no way to turn pdfs 90°? With non of those reader apps.
I'm missing my iPad 3. Got stolen on my trip. ;(

Need help finding the best possible pdf reader/annotator

So far I'm not having much luck finding a pdf annotating app I like. I've tried iannotate and ezpdf reader which either crash often on me or load pdfs and page turns slow as balls.
Anyone out there find something that works great? I don't care if it's a paid app as long as it's fast.
I use ezPDf. It has been consistently the best for doing everything from highlighting to written annotations.

Same here on my Note II (basically the same hardware and 4.1.2). Works good for me. I haven't received my Note 8 to try it yet...waiting for the 3G version.
Maybe you have another app or process running that is conflicting or causing lag? I uninstall any apps that I don't use on a daily basis and don't use live wallpapers. My Note II is rooted, but running the stock ROM.

Qpf Notes is the best I have tried and used. I use it on my note 2 every day. I use it to note site maps created from google maps, coolect signatures, fill in diocuments, note existing documents for future changes, and besy of all it has allowed me to be completely paperless in a paper dependent company.. It is perfect for me. Very well supported with updates and improvements. It is a paid app, but if you need somerhing capable of doing this tge price is very low. I love it.

I bought QPDF, RepliGo, EzPDF...
None they all look the same, but I found EzPDF rendered each page faster than everybody else.
RepliGo was better designed, but every page showed up blured at first and then it would finish rendering.
QPDF have a weird scroll system, but it loads multiple pages at once
So i'm sticking with EzPdf for now
Annotating PDFs
Hi guys,
I have just released a new slim pdf annotation app that targets those of us who want to annotate while we are reading documents. This app is not for note taking (for those who need that I recommend Papyrus).
My app is the slimmest PDF reader, with pen and marker annotation, I have seen. It is easy to use, and it allows you to annotate and highlight as you read. Exactly as you do on paper. It is extremely easy to switch between the pen and the marker; and to toggle colours.
Also – the app recognizes the difference between your finger and the stylus. Fingers are used to move, zoom and erase. The stylus is used to annotate.
A free version of Stylus Annotator is available on Play. Please try it and rate it.

Good Ebook reader app

Ive been using Aldiko and it seems to be doing its job just fine (I need an app that also can import pdfs), anyone have an alternative or better app ?
Maybe Moon Reader+
I just use Google Play Books. With the ability to upload your own books and the apps style consistent with the other android applications, I see no reason to use anything else.
