Hello.
I am trying to flash CyanogenMod on S5660 Gio. After rooting and installing recovery px-CM-v2.zip from Android recovery that comes with gio and wiping and installing cm10 from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414173 phone just stays on CyanogenMod logo. I know that I used on Neo V to flash custom kernel from zip via FlashTool but is it also needed for Gio? What flash tool should I use? I know only about odin.
use only Odin tool because other tools are aren't made for gio and also they can brick your device.
you need ext4 formatter
Flash the ext4 formatter then flash the rom
I think it should works
I hope i helpd you

Hello,
I've rooted the phone by flashing update.zip found on the forum. After confirming that I have root access I flashed CWR from this source:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650
[ signed_cwm-5.0.2.7-flashablezip-ext4+rfs.zip (Flash from Recovery) ]
After I saw my new recovery working, i wiped all caches+data and flashed (by installing zip) a 7.2 rom.
But I stuck with bootloop, with few roms tried.
I need urgent help please. I can access recovery but phone is a softbrick atm. Thank you.
Try factory reset and flash a stock(based) rom. Luckily you can get in recovery mode.

Try fastbooting an opensemc kernel just flashing will not fix. You must fastboot. But Rayman made some fixes in his as people were having problems - http://db.tt/LHNtaSay

First try to flash the CWM or TWRP recovery via fastboot. Then reboot into recovery and try to flash your ROM.
unfortunately thats not work

Click to collapse
Flash the doomkernel and then flash your custom rom !
just flashing not work
w/o problems i can only flash offical zip FW .200/.211 from DooMLoRD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320184
rest ROMs give me status 7 "some symlinks failed" error
Have you fastbooted an opensemc kernel yet?

Howdy, one thing i want to ask is which recovery can i flash with my unit s5660M (with letter M). I tried flashing CWM here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493932 under MyRoms because other links were dead. He mentioned that this recovery can only be used when flashing HIS rom. I tried flashing other rom not coming from him and didn't worked. I want to flash CM based rom. What right recovery can i use? Can i flash recovery for s5660 (without M)?
Hi guys,
I own both a Galaxy S2 and Ace2. I have already installed CyanogenMod on the S2 and I am about to do the same on the Ace2 using an unofficial release. I have noticed differences in the procedure between the two devices and I would like to understand these differences.
On the S2 you first need to install a custom recovery (ClockworkMod) using Odin before flashing the Cyanogenmod zip. The reason for this is the stock recovery will recognise that Cyanogenmod is a custom ROM and will not permit it to be installed directly.
However on the Ace2 it seems that you can install Cyanogenmod directly from zip using the stock recovery. Does the stock recovery on the Ace2 not have the ability to recognise custom ROMs or does it simply not care?
Thanks in advance.
I don't know about recovery recognision but I know that installing Custom ROM on Ace 2 is easier than on S2. You just need to flash the zip with Cyanogenmod but sometimes Custom ROM's need newer recovery so then you must install temporary CWM recovery to flash that kind of Custom ROM.
Hi, my phone(i9082) got stucked on boot but i can still access cwm recovery mode. I tried wiping data and cached partition but it still dont reboot. This satrted after installing touchwiz revolution v11 zip to my grand duos. Please help. Thanks in advance.
OK let me try to help you....You must need to be in a bootloader unlocked android version to flash custom rom like cm based ROMs and most custom ROMs...4.2.2 is the bootloader unlocked version of galaxy grand...So first of all you need to flash official 4.2 version on grand using Odin then flash latest cwm recovery or any other latest recovery(I recommend philz touch)...wipe data, cache, dalvike cache(from advance) and also formate storage..then flash the ROM and again do a factory reset and wipe cache...now try to reboot...if still u r in bootloop try another rom
