Does anyone have the USB Mass Storage Driver for DHD? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The lack of UMS drivers means that i cannot mount the SD Card in order to use the Hackace script, i have tried everything, i even tried other drivers and installing HTC Sync, and HTC Driver still did not work, i was just wondering if anyone has the drivers present on their PCs (Mine has a problem with them) Thanks.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

AFAIK you don't need drivers for USB Mass Storage. Best bet is to Google it but I don't think it'll help in your case. Are you Referring to the Advance Ace Hack Kit?

Yes, I need to use the aahk tool to s-off my phone but the lack of drivers is causing the hack kit to come up with a bunch if errors, mainly it says that the SD Card is unmounted, I headed to Device Manager to rectify the problem and search for drivers through Windows Update, but it threw an error saying that there isn't any available, when I was on the stock ROM, Windows would recognise the phone as two devices: Android Phone, and Android Phone, the first one would be installed as 'Android ADB Interface' and the other device will not be installed. On JellyTime, its recognized as Android Phone and Mass Storage, but mass storage has the same error.

Merry Xmas!!

I could not get the drivers installed, so I installed Windows XP on VMWare Workstation and it works perfectly.

Gio mass storage.. or is it?

Hi,
Now I know that someone has asked this before, but googling through here ( as in the internets ) is near impossible unless you know exactly what you are looking for.
Now the Gio is somewhat left behind, because to use it as a mass storage device ( flash drive/card reader ) you have to have Kies drivers installed. This is, of course, frustrating. I've recently flashed to CM ( phiexz YOU ARE THE CORNERSTONE OF GIO COMMUNITY AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED ) in hopes that this would be fixed, because in my own mind it's a software issue... Turns out that it still needs drivers. I don't know what levels of complete retardness one must reach to do something like this to a 2011 smartphone ( even a budget one ).
So the question is : how do you ( is it possible ) to use mass storage capability without drivers installed on host pc?
Thank you.
Nohow.
Since the PC itself needs some drivers to recognize all of the capabilities of the phone, it is nearly impossible to have your phone making prober connection without drivers.
Although, in Linux(Ubuntu 11.10) I just connect the phone and recognises it as a card reader. This may be because of the Linux basics of both system, I dunno.

Well several other phones ( LG p500 for example) can be used as regular flash drives ( sd ) on windows based machines without any drivers or CWM's
Never mind but why installing drivers is such a big issue? I installed kies once I bought this set and since then I just connect my device to windows machine and it detects it as a drive. I don't use kies at all!
And if you find installing drivers really frustrating then try using apps that let you transfer data over wifi connection (airdroid etc.). They don't require drivers (hopefully) but i'm not sure though. Better give it a try.

[Q] USB mount and phone files

Hello,
Sorry for this NOOB question (becouse i know it's a simple question) but i can't find the solution:
When i connect the WFS to my desktop i used to see two drives: the sd and the phone itselfs, but now i only see the SD.
I turned on the USB- development mode, my rom is Wildchild, i'm S-on, and bootloader is unlocked, desktop is on Vista.
Is it the drivers of Vista or is it a phone related issue?
Joop
I never saw the phone memory on my PC............Are you sure????

It impossible for windows to see the phone memory because it is a totally different file system, which windows doesn't recognize.

You can do that by default. The phone uses MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), which is used exclusively(I think) by Windows. It should mount as an external drive automatically, unless you have PTP checked instead which will mount it as a digital camera.

Ye, indeed the problem is that it doesn't mount automatically, so i'm here asking for help.
You will never get the GNex to mount via USB Mass Storage mode. It will only transfer files via MTP or PTP, or via ADB.

[Q] 4.1.1 file transferring on mac

So i updated my One X through the OTA 4.1.1, now everything changes and stuff. Now I can't mount my hox as a disk driver, it forces me to download the htc sync manager, but it doesn't work either...
It doesn't recognize my device, it says no device.
Please help guys, i need this. Is it because i'm using a mac and that the manager has just been released recently so it still has bugs?
thanks in advance

to use usb you need to go in recovery and mount usb, if you're not rooted, well, that's the only method... HTC ha removed the USB storage from JB
lol, sorry im really new to this android thing. How do i go into recovery mode?
and plus, if i choose to use sync manager, why doesn't it recognize my device? Is it because i don't the mtp drivers?
thanks in advance
I haven't got the JB OTA, but I usually use Solid Explorer's File Transfer mode to copy files to/from my device over wifi. I don't see why it shouldn't work on JB too, so you can give it a try - download the app from the Play Store and use your favourite mac ftp client (mine is Cyberduck). Good luck!

if you don't know what recovery is then you didn't root the device so don't do that... however the Macs don't have MTP mode, it is a Windows only feature

Wait, so are you saying HTC has made the internal storage like it is on the GNex (one big partition for apps + data +user storage that can't be accessed through USB storage mode)? But could they have removed USB file transfer support without reformatting everything?

[Q] No disk drive access possible on pc in JB?

I updated to official JB and now on connecting to pc via usb it doesn't show the same notification window as ICS.
There is no option as Charge Only or Disk Drive..
Is this normal, how to allow disk drive access in this case.
You can automatically access the phone storage on both sides (pc and from phone) at the same time. AKA mtp usb storage.

Even i have the same problem. Even if we are able to access the sd card from both sides, the sd card isnt being shown on the pc. I installed htc sync manager, but that just shows your media files, not your other data. Please help out fast!
Ums made place for mtp. You can mount your sd card in recovery

I was not having Sync Manager bfore hand so, when i connected my cell, Htc Syn Manager Setup started and downloaded a file of about 106.4 Mb, installer started and after a few steps it showed an error that a CheckandRemoveOldHTCDriver could not be found..
Any guesses whats wrong in this.. I m on 32 bit Win XP.
I m badly stuck, cant transfer any files.. No Disk Drive option appears on usb pc connection, so no access to transfer files.

Some taiwanese pioneers report that it requires something from windows media player 11 too. Make sure you have these two software installed.
Alternatively, you can use newer windows to obtain simplify this problem.

I know about that.. When u connect the cell HTC Sync Manager Setup requires WMP 11 or above. I already hav 11.
Need some thing else, i have tried everything, I dont understand how can a Driver file b missing when i have run HTC Driver Installer and have downloaded the HSM setup file from HTC.com straight that too twice..
Initially the setup showed some other files missing like MS VC Redist 2005 etc, so i got them one after one then it stopped at this error...
All I wanted was to enjoy my JB but it a nightmare nw..
Remove all htc drivers.
Install the latest one from htc.
Reboot your computer
Connect the phone and let the drivers get installed.
I hope it works.

How can i remove all htc drivers, i know the device manager approach. But read sumwhere that these drivers are some times stored in system and same reverts when u connect the device..?
They have done away with usb mass storage in JB and gone to MTP storage. A decent work around is to mount with CWM recovery or TWRP recovery
Also this has been discussed before mate

I removed all drivers from device manager, then using htc sync installed the latest drivers HTC Driver Installer 3.0.0.021,
Then rebooted & connected the device.. But again same error of MTP..
I have an image of it.
