Getting S-Off on an already rooted and unlocked phone - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

So I previously unlocked my HTC Droid Inc 2, but was having trouble flashing Roms. I realize now its because its still S-On. I'm running 2.3.4 and can't downgrade to 2.3.3 because Revolution is not compatible with 6.01.605.05 701RD.
Any tips on making S-off?

You can just flash a stock ruu. But it's very unlikely to get bootloops on a stock rom..

Is there any hope??? (soft brick)

ok... so my aunt brought me her phone that she said she bricked... first thing first, its just a soft brick. i can turn the device on normally ( in which it just stays at the htc bootsplash.. i can also boot the phone into bootloader.. i cant go into recovery. when i select restart bootloader in fastboot it freezes the phone up... i have came to a conclusion that she wiped her recovery out completely. heres the problem where i need help..
1. the phone is ****locked**** , and when i try to use the htc dev. to unlock bootloader it will not let me select "yes" to unlock bootloader.
2. s-on
3. usb debugging is disabled im assuming...
4. hboot = 0.98.0000
5. radio: 1.09.01.1111
is there any hope for this phone???
Have you tried fast boot flash a recovery or using an ruu
when i try to flash recovery via flash boot it gives me an error.. htc cant sign the file properly..!!!??? all the ruu methods ive seen require usb debugging to be enabled ive tried them anyways with no luck...
Use the downgrade method in the development section.

doesnt the downgrade method require you to have usb debugging enabled??? my phone will not boot...
So I guess there is no hope for this phone... I can't get anyone to respond... :/

With a locked bootloader? I don't see how it could work, but you might as well try the downgrade tool, it can't hurt.

I would try flashing a recovery through the bootloader again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185490 check out that thread for more info. I don't think its gonna work because you aren't s-off but its worth a try. I have seen some hboot flash able ruu's before. I will look around after work.

If the one at the previous link will not flash take a look at this one. I believe you need the gingerbread 2.3.4 one based on the radio version you posted. These are also signed so they should be able flash with s-on.

Google search "vivow signed ruu" there are hundreds of posts there with downloads. A signed ruu is an ruu just as it comes from htc. Because it is signed you can flash it through bootloader with s-on.
You will need a newer or equivalent version to the one on the phone or it won't flash.
You will just need to find one with a good download now.
Sent from my ICS Dinc2
Hmmm
Like has been said the RUU posted by CondemnedSoul should work. Just make sure its named PG32IMG. Dont add .zip or anything as you may not be able to see extensions if you dont have then enabled. Once its named PG32IMG and you put it on your SD card by itself not in a folder.
Once you do this pull the battery for a second and put it back. Now Volume down and power to boot bootloader. Give it a sec and see if it will load the image. If it does load it will give you the option to install by pressing volume up. It should start to install and should fix the problem. I have used the file before on my older Inc 2 so I know it works. Hope you get it sorted out.
So I get the ruu to read finally and it freezes on this screen...

Installed AOKP custom rom, phone constantly reboots

Okay, I've gotten the bootloader unlocked, Team Win Recovery (which is the only one that works) installed, and AOKP installed. My phone is constantly rebooting. How do I get past this?
this is commonly seen when you have the OTA Updated radio. probably best to RUU and get stock radio back on and start your unlocking and rom flashing all over.
I'm sorry, but what does this mean?

[Q] going back to stock rom but stuck on htc screen

I'm cleaning up old phones and putting them back to default, however my Desire Z won't listen to me.
I've got the stock _WWE-2.42.405.2-signed ROM and flashed it, but it boots up at the HTC screen and stays there for eternity.
Tried making goldcards and nothing works.
None of the links to other files seem to work anymore (RUU_Vision_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.5.exe or Virtuous Fusion (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21640886) - which i know isn't a stock rom but it at least looks like it.
Any help would be appreciated.
I still have access to clockwork recovery and the phone is in S-OFF, just not sure what to do from here.
thanks

Can you get into fastboot ? If you can there is still hope and it isnt BRICKED ....... Fastboot usb ... fastboot flash recovery again , then flash a correct rom . if recovery still isnt working try fastboot reboot recovery ..... and you may have to RUU . but as long as you have fastboot you still have a fighting chance .
I've tried to just flash the recovery through boot loader. Does the same thing. I'll try fast boot reboot recovery. How do I RUU? Can I flash a rom in fast boot?

We don't have that ROM? You flashed a sprint rom? You flashed the wrong kernel flash arom for this phone and you are fixed. You are not bricked until you cannot turn on your phone

I would REALLY start reading about all the things NOT to do with an S-OFF phone if you think you bricked your phone on a bootloop.
I honestly don't want to see your beautiful phone actually get BRICKED. which means just that it's a brick.. it doesn't turn on, no charge light ANYTHING, that is a brick. And can happen, but if you are careful you will be fine. but Not knowing how to flash an RUU and what a bootloop is, those are things you should learn BEFORE you S-OFF. Just don't want to see you end up with an actual Brick.

Hey on the positive side if you brick it you can re-enforce your home...
Lol! Learned allot in the past week. Andy, everything you said is on point. I took the time to read and learn and you'll be happy to know I'm now running TWRP with bone stock. I now have a better understanding of it all. I have rooted and unlocked many phones. Eris my first. But this is my first S-off and thanks to all the help from xda members like yourselves I know what I have.
