Desire x bricked - HTC One X

I wasnt sure where to put this..
Ok, i got a desire x off a friend he bought it new two weeks ago but he went on holidays and i swapped him an iphone.
The phone is unrooted. Last night i sat down while it was in my pocket and my car keys cracked the digitalizer. I was extremely annoyed so i left it down on the table. I had installed a new android launcher team that day but when i had the phone in my hand after it broke i remember the battery was a red icon, but i was low im just mentioning. Anyway long story short it went dead i brought it up to my room and plugged it into the wall charger. The orange light came on so i went to sleep. I woke up and the light was still on. I plugged it out and the light went off but the phone still wont boot nor go into recovery, safe etc.. Can somone ples help me as i dont know what to do.

I don't have a solution for you but you are at the wrong forum; not to mention that you are on the wrong section too.

Desire Bricked

Hi i recently had my desire repaired by HTC, i had the rebooting issue and they replaced the motherboard everything was working fine for two weeks then last night while browsing the internet the phone froze, None of the buttons would work couldnt power off i had to remove the battery, now it wont switch on at all at first i thought it was a dead battery but i have tried another battery and it still wont start.
I plugged my charger in and the orange led came up but as soon as i press the power button it goes off i left it charging overnight and now the led light is green but it still wont turn on.
I havent rooted it and it came back from HTC with the latest firmware installed
As its compleyely syock, Id send it back to htc again and give them hell.
Not ideal, i know....
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Well have phoned HTC and they seemed as confused as i am, the phone is completely dead booked in for repair for the 29th december

HELP! HTC Desire issues

ok guys, I have a HTC Desire, been using it about 2 months now after HTC sent me a new one . but anyway now I'm in a bit of trouble with it. I plugged it in over night like I usually do to find it perfectly fully charged and ready for its days work. However today was different. I found my phone to still have the orange light on and found this a bit strange, and what added to it was that my phone had not charged AT ALL from last night, but had not decreased in battery either. So I decided to restart the phone, and now it doesn't want to charge or switch on. However if I take out the battery and plug the phone in, the red and green LED's flicker like usual when the battery is not inserted. Any diagnostics anybody? I think my battery died but I don't want to spend £35 on a new one if the phones broken anyway..
symptoms [more in detail above]:
1 It didn't charge
2 after turning off, it didn't charge or turn on
3. if i take out battery, LED's flicker as normal
Never mind guys I found out it's broken, took it to the phone shop and tried a different battery and still didn't work, and mine did with another phone :'(

[Q] Bricked phone or battery?

Hi,
So my girlfriend just got given a used HTC Desire by a friend last monday. It was locked to Orange. Like all android based devices in this house, the first thing I did was unlock all the various bits, flash a decent rom, update the radio etc. and all was working fine all week including the battery dying totally at least once.
On friday, she had to do a 22 mile charity bike cycle for work (chump) and after she got home, she spoke on the phone for a while. Then the battery died. Now it's foobarred.
When I put it on charge, light doesn't come on straight away (hinting usb-brick)
Eventually the light comes on and goes orange.
It then goes green
When I press the power button, the green light goes off and NOTHING happens.
I can't get it to connect to the PC at all.
But since I can't boot it, I can't get into recovery, I can't get the PC to see it so can't use ADB.
I've tried all sorts of combinations of removing the battery, leaving it charging for hours, leaving it with the battery, sim and microSD removed for hours and can't seem to get any life out of it.
The phone looks fine, the water indicators are all still white. My only ideas aside from some catastrophic failure on one of the boards is maybe it's the battery that's shorted itself or something. Does the Desire turn on at all when plugged in with a fudged battery?
Anyone else had a similar problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? Phone or battery?
I'm trying to hunt down someone with a HTC Desire at work so I can test their battery with it - is there any chance this phone could make an expensive paperweight from another battery too?
Thanks in advanced.
Hi.
Maybe the battery, in his last breath, overcharged some circuits and burnt them. But I hope not for you. If the red light/green light works, it means at least that some of the circuit is working so continue your chase and find yourself another battery for testing.
Try and test the battery with a multimeter just to be sure ! Also what about charger was it original htc one ?
Did you ever sort it out?

Did you got this solved? I've got myself a new phone (giveaway ) and gave my Desire to my wife. I could flash another hboot and back to cm7 without any issues, she configured her google acc etc and put it onto charger over night. But it didnt charged. On yesterday morning it then died cuz of empty battery and dont come back now...

[Q] HTC One X violently died but I think I might've resurrected it?

Please look into this guys;
Last night, I charged my HOX from 18%-28%, used it for a few minutes and then turned it off (it was still at 28%). I then plugged it into the HTC "black box" usb charger (I've been using the same one since I got the phone like six months ago) but turned on charging after 2 hours - and left it charging for like 6½ hours.
EDIT: My brother actually switched on charging two hours after I switched the phone off. [IT WAS TURNED OFF FOR 2 HOURS]
In the morning, the red LED wasn't on, so I disconnected it and tried turning it on - it didn't work.
I tried holding all three buttons for minutes and all of that, but it still didn't work.
I googled the issue and went through a bunch of threads where the exact same thing happened, and most people said the battery either died permanently or something similar. This one person said he fixed his HOX by using a different charger, apparently the chargers themselves can die.
I plugged my HOX into my mom's Samsung charger, and booted it into bootloader, and selected RECOVERY. After a few minutes and to my orgasmic relief, my phone turned on.
I'm still confused as to what happened.
1) Is there something terribly wrong with my phone's battery now? (When it turned on it was at 1%, whereas I turned it off 6½ hours prior at 28%)
2) My HTC black box charger is obviously not to be used now, right?
3) Is there any problem with using a samsung charger on my HOX from now on? Or should I search for another HTC Black Box Charger?
I'll leave it on charge until it reaches around 60-70% and test it out, and let you know if it's fine. But until then, could you please try answering my questions?
THANKS!
On a side note:
I recently had my HOX repaired at the UK service center under warranty. The phone actually had a bunch of issues; yellow spots on the screen, the ruined wifi antennae thing.. Well, they replaced the screen and display, and replaced the Wifi wiring. When I got it back, it turned out that they forgot to remove a plastic cover from the in-call speaker. Thus I cannot use the phone for phone calls outside of extremely quiet places, unless I use earphones with a mic. I let HTC know this, and they said, "Oh, no problem, just send it back to center"
I reside outside of the UK. I had to send it there with my own money and bring it back with my own money. So now I have to choose between spending another $90 or being able to use my phone for phone calls.
Thanks again, whoever bothers to read this and helps me

Help with dead M8. (No forum for m8?)

Hi - i hope its ok i place it here.
So, i got my friends m8 for free, since its completely dead.
This is what he told me.
He started doing system reset thru the pc software, the software or phone crashed and he couldnt start the phone, he started it to recovery and pressed factory reset, the screen went black (screen where on but it was black, nothing on it) and he couldnt do ****. after a while it eventually died from no battery and since then its been in his drawer, this was in dec.
today i got it, put it in the charger, at first it randomly showed that it loaded with yellow light going like yellow like 2 seconds, no light 1 second, yellow light 6 seconds, no light 3 seconds on and on for 2-3 hours completely random, never stable yellow light that its charging.
now its not showing anything at all eventho the charger is in, the phone obv wont start, and best of all when i was at my mate i lost my xperia z3 compact somwhere in swedish town stockholm, we ate at a fancy resturant ant went to alot of places so thats gone.
what can i do? i run a small pc support business so i cant be without phone and having bought 2 new computers today im totally on zero money, no friends or family that has some old crap either.
please give me any advice.
i just put the usb into the computer and on a dead phone not showing its charing and not on and not able to start it, my computer goes "installing drivers qhsusb_bulk". gives me a bit of hope.
btw my friend said the he tried to recover it by the phone, not the pc software, and then the phone hang up
You are so very much opening yourself up to a load of piling on here.
The M8 is a very popular device and has loads of support from a strong base of users. Post your question in their Q&A forum to get help from them.
