I was wondering if the hardware was exactly the same for a sprint and verizon and u.s. cellular galaxy s3? Can you flash a rom designed for a sprint galaxy s3 onto a Verizon galaxy s3 and vice versa?

I would suggest not to. I've read some horror stories about flashing wrong carrier ROMs in this forum and others. Unless you have a test mule GS3 to try it on,I would advise against it.

youd end up with a really expensive paperweight if you flashed a rom meant for another phone
Go for it and let us know how it works out

Actually, it says "(This battery fits Samsung Galaxy S II sgh t989 by TMobile and AT&T.)", which is wrong. Probably was written assuming the T-Mobile/AT&T merger would go through perhaps. But still references it as compatible with SGH-T989, which is the Galaxy SII for T-Mobile USA specifically.
I wouldn't try it.
Hi,
Does anyone know if other careers will bring this phone or it is exclusively available on Verizon?
Thanks,
Sprint.

OK, thanks. It doesn't help me though. I was hoping a GSM based carrier brings it (TMobile or AT&T) but it seems that's not the case.
Hello everyone at XDA.
Recently I bought a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 T-999 (Base Model T999UVALEM ). Howerver I am curious if this phone can be patch with Mobilicity "Canada Carrier" Stock Rom (T999VVLALE6 )?

I wouldn't, I've heard mixing the Canadian and T-mobile ROMs is a one-way ticket to brick. Stick to ROMs designed specifically for the SGH-T999 (T-Mobile version).
We could port it. Why do you want that rom?

Don't mention it. I was so stupid and didn't look around before purchasing this phone.
I am a Canadian Mobilicity user, I usually buy T-Mobile phone, but this time i didn't realize Mobilicity carry GS3. With T-Mobile custom Rom there alot of junk apps. Such as T-Mobile Hot-Spot, Access T-Mobile else. Since I saw SGH-T999 and SGH-T999v are the same spec just wonder if I can load Mobilicity Rom to my T-Mobile GS3 phone. So that i can use their custom apps
You can jut copy their apps to /system/app/ and they should work.

I'm pretty sure you would not be able to flash a sprint phone to Verizon but you should be able to flash to boost mobile or something similar pretty soon.

According to sammobile ATT and T-mobile get update for they Galaxy s2 and Skyrocket. I know this is not galaxy s2 forum but interesting is why they have update and phone as galaxy s3 not, and why they have before galaxy s3???
Edit: i just update my friend t-mobile galaxy s2 to 4.1.2.
So strange..we'll never understand these carriers! Hope we get it soon but I don't think I'd even use multiview much!
That's an old phone we should get the update.

Thats why i'm supprice we did not have official 4.2.1 on att or t-mobile galaxy s3..:fingers-crossed:
Not even any leaks
It is rather difficult to tell why the did the update to 4.1.2 for the S2 Skyrocket before addressing the update for the S3. It is likely that the S2 update (which I installed in my S2) is less involved and less difficult to process than what is contemplated for the S3. In addition, the S2 is not seen as a competitor of the S4, as it is mostly unavailable right now from AT&T. On the other hand, the S3 is still around and a fully updated S3 may make a number of users avoid upgrading to the S4.
I saw this also. Its quite aggravating.. Especially considering i bought the phone off contract. And i had the s2 before junping to the s3...

Other devices and the upgrades they received should go in the sticky discussion
Thanks
