I flashed the urban karnage 1.5 today and now my cell signal is no longer set up correctly. This rom does not let you set you manual apn's. Anybody's thoughts on why I am only getting 3g where I used to get lte?
Thanks

I managed to get into the APN settings and make the correct changes but it was useless I still could not get on the HSPA network that I could get on my stock rom

Bought my phone form Rogers. LTE was working fine.
Was going to USA and paid an online company to send me unlock code.
Used it and went using Tmobile which only has EDGE data.
Just got back swapped back in my SIM From fRogers and can only get EDGE speeds.
Tried reboots rmoving SIM card.
Also made sure settigns were correct for Rogers APNs and also that toggle was on for GPS/HSPA/LTE.
To no avail.
Briefly, I toggled on and off the apn setting from ROgers LTE to tethering LTE and low and behold it seemed to work.
But now it is back to stuck on EDGE and nothibg I am doing can help.
Can this be a byproduct of the unlock?
Is my LTE faulty?
I s there some hidden menu where perhaps a setting can be changed for a fix?
I am depserate as the alternative is to return the phone and they are on backorder everywhere now.
have you gone into settings> more settings> mobile newtorks>and taken a look at your access point names and your network mode?
yes
I even confirmed with Rogers and settings are correct
Are there any service mode type ways to switch on/off data? Maybe I inadvertently did something
What area you in now and was before.
Did you tried different locations like out of your house, work, out of city.

Try setting it to WCDMA only, and then use the network operators button to search for networks

Will try this again. though not sure of that option.
for me under network mode it gives me choice of GSM
HSPa
BOth with auto connect
or those two with LTE auto connect.
Right now if I try to select HSPA only ct it does't change and reverts to GSM/HSPA/LTE (auto). Seems it will only accept a choice that allows it to default back to Edge (GSM)
Anyone know if there are some deeper settings to

If I change the sim and put it in my old s2 I get 3g speeds right away so I should at least be getting that and I know form the day I got it that LTE was working well in my home.
it depends on what they flashed maybe they flashed a different antenna because the freq's of the tmo version are diff than the rogers version
Wasn't a flash. It was an unlock code for Rogers entered at the invalid SIM screen. They were not told which network I would be using it

Try resetting factory settings again, and flash this Rogers modem.

Can I flash the modem if I am not rooted.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Does flashing the modem show evidence of such?
I.e if this attempt at a fix fails my recourse is to return the phone as defective. Don't want there to be any evidence of tampering that could void my warranty
You can flash modem.without rooted.
Zip.file.modem.through cwm or .tar modem file through Odin.
And if you are under 14 days of purchase, reset your phone to get your log minutes under 30.
But I guess you.won't need to do.that, flashing.modem and reset should work.

Well did factory reset before risking modem flash.
Low and behold while i had to reinstall and setup everything again, LTE is now working again.
Not sure what happened. Will ultimately root at least to back things up.
I am not sure if this is the right place to have this but I have a tmob s3 that I am trying to get the 3G on att to work. I know the lte won't work but the hspa should thou since it has the proper bands for it.
I have been able to get the 3G to work by manual setting it by the dialer but it won't make calls until I set to it back to automatic it. It won't go back to 3G until I manual set it back
I have tried every apn settings and nothing doing...
I am not sure but maybe I need to try a different radio? I am currently on the latest jb radio.
Any ideas?

I think you need to make sure your phone sim is unlocked. You can do it by some method on these boards or you can call your tmobile and ask them for the unlock code.

If its unlocked you should only need to pop the att sim card in and it shoudl automaticly set the att apns(on CM10 or any aosp rom, rebuild TW rom), and get hspa+, tho if your on stock rom you need to add the apns manually since the apn.xml inside framework-res.jar dosnt have them.
Yea its already unlocked and it gets service it just doesn't make the switch to hspa+ unless I manual force it to do so and it doesn't always work sometimes it will show now service

im having the same issue, how do i manual for? im running on 4.12 aokp
I have read the countless posts on the 3g issues, but when I try to access *#*#4636#*#* and change to wcdma only or preferred it won't stay the option just instantly changes back to CDMA and won't stick.
I was on paranoid android and flashed the cm10.1 12/08 nightly hoping the fix would work but it hasn't really. I read of a flashable fix and was hoping to get that but the link is down. Not really sure what to do at this point and I don't want to go back to touch wiz

Not sure wat 3g issues u speak of... 3g should be the least of ur concerns on cm10. Changing the settings in *#*#4636#*#* is temporary. Use the network selection mode under system settings in cm10. Ur problem is most likely not from 3g but from the hand off from 3g to (ehrpd) to lte and any combination of the above. It is a known issue even if ur not in a full lte covered area yet. The APN is not configured properly. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35205882.

And I'm pretty sure there's an apn commit being entered in the next nightly that addresses the problem

As a user the problem manifests itself as me not being able to get 3g back unless I reboot so that's why I called it a 3g issue, sorry for not using the correct jargon. But thanks for the link.
The zip in that link worked temporarily but now I'm back to the same issues but worse because I completely lose all radios a few times a minute, except WIFI when lte is off in settings. When lte/cdma is selected in settings I have the same issues as before.
I think at this point I'm just going back to a touch wiz Rom it's not worth the missed calls and text messages to be on an awesome Rom. When my phone came back on from the fix i had like five text messages pop up from last night. And now I'm always just going to winner what I missed. I heard this bug mainly affects non touch wiz roms

After restoring a Nandroid of cm10.1 my phone is now stuck on 4G. Data and texts work fine but I can't make or receive calls. If I toggle LTE off in mobile network settings it automatically puts it back on. Same thing if I toggle only use 2G networks.
I imagine this has something to do with me going into the radio dialer settings (the settings page you get on touchwiz by dialing *#2263#) but am unsure.
Is there a way to access that screen or one that has similar function on cm10.1 so I can test? Or do I need to flash a TW ROM and change it back? And to what, automatic?

*#*#4636#*#* gets you into the testing menu on CM10.1 where you can then go to phone info and change the preferred network type.
Ya I tried apns, sim resets, really anything I could think of that's connected to the radios. *#*#4636#*#* had the same results as the toggles in settings. It would automatically just switch back to lte.
In the end I just reflashed a touchwiz ROM, went into *#2263#, the LTE band had an * beside it. Hit automatic and Nandroided back to cm. Everything working fine now.
I guess those settings are on a hardware level nandroids can't get at. Live and learn.

I've never had an issue with T-Mobile until the last month, and I thought maybe my Note 2 was going wonky but the Note 3 does the same thing. Basically it likes to mostly switch from LTE to EDGE or even GPRS sometimes, and it's driving me insane. If you do *#2263# in the dialer it brings up the network settings and you can force LTE/WCDMA only, but then it never drops down to the battery saving UMTS, which I want to do. There has to be a way to just plain disable EDGE/GPRS completely, or at least change the priority to where it doesn't ever go to those unless it has zero signal of either HSPA, UMTS or LTE. Any ideas?
/sadface. Bump just in case no one saw this.
WCDMA=UMTS
*#*#4636#*#*
Choose phone info
Set to WCDMA only
You won't connect to lte this way but it'll disable the fallback to edge/gprs.
Also, I'd change your apn settings to use the epc.tmobile.com apn instead of the fast.tmobile.com if
you're going to force wcdma.
