Hi, since upgrading to JB, I've noticed that my battery drain on standby is a lot worse than on ICS. So I downloaded better battery and basically I have a partial wakelock from audioout_4. Looking at system usage, Android system and media server are rather high, and were never that high before.
Any ideas on how I can sort this please. I'm not sure what app out process thus represents. Cheers

I have the exact same issue,
Do you already have an solution?
By any chance any of you use a bluetooth headset/speaker or something? I can't find anything on Google regarding this so I'm just giving some random tech advice
Also, do you have a kernel wakelock screenshot?
I just checked my wakelocks and I'm having the same issue lol ~_~

it seems that we all have the same problem with the same AudioOut_4 wakelock.
In the first place i thought that "networklocationprovider" was the culprit for the phone not entering into deep sleep, but after the last update that problem is gone and only this is left.
and, very curiously, there's no solution on google, either..
If i found something i'll go back and report
AudioOut_4 must have something to do with the speaker.
I also have the same problem. Could is be somehow related to the music player?

I don't use my phone much for music, and wakelocks shouldn't be happening when the phone is idle and in deep sleep /: Still getting this wakelock ):
Anyone figure it out? I'm getting this as well... Although it is strange because I just saw it today. I've been running BBS for a few weeks and this is the first I've seen of it.
I wasn't using a music app or Bluetooth, so I'm scratching my head on this one as well.

Maybe it something related with google now? I change speeach output to handfree only and still monitoring how it goes.
One X Fueled by Tegra 3 Driven by IceColdJelly
Any solution for this problem? Got One X+ and same, phone is 3h off charger and AudioOut_4 is 50m on, top of the list for partial wakelocks...
I believe audio_out can be stopped by going to:
Settings - sound
Then Disabling touch sounds and screen unlock sound.
Not 100% sure but give it a try.

Have you tried installing current widget to see what is exactly happening, or how much voltage is going through your phone, even though it's sleeping? (ie, screen off)
I have not tried yet

This happened to me a few times (with almost no apps running) on RC7. Updating to 2.01 seems to have fixed that for me.
If that doesn't help, try using a different kernel and/or a different radio version and see if that works for you (we're reduced to experimentation as nobody has ben able to determine what exactly causes this issue).
I'm well impressed with mine. I went to bed with it fully charged, used it a bit in bed, always play a game and check the forums. Not plugged in at all and woke up this morning and its still fully charged!!
Amazing, since I have yahoo messenger running always. Been using it a lot since I woke up and now on 96% but I know its mainly the screen that uses a lot.
Brilliant ROM tbh
See if this helps:

well it's not really going to save your battery life, it just lets you see when/how the battery is being used up
Yes we can atleast know what apps are eating our battery.

I have RC1 and my better life is terrible. Gotta figure out why.
Hi everyone,
I got my Nexus 7, so I thought I could ease on the HOX a bit, but I found that something is still running rampant in the backgroundm but I can't find what it is, even using GSam Battery Monitor. Screen has only been on for 25 minutes, and already at 43%!
I used the HOX as mobile hotspot this morning in the train, when I arrived at work, it had 80% left. Rest of the day I only used it for the occasional whatsapp. It's not even closing time for work now, and it's close to 40%, so something is eating the battery, but I can;t find what!
See enclosed screenshots, I would love to hear some advice!
Kernel, but who knows why?
Also, your crappy mobile signal on the way to work when you had no WiFi... It didn't like that much.
yeah I can get into that, but I don't get why, at the last part, the screen isn't turned on, but it the kernel is switched on ALL the time, I guess something must be running rampant in the background. I've just started going to apps and force stopping a lot of things to be sure...
Try using watchdog, it tells you which app which above threshold, gsam never tells u what the kernel was upto. U can also try better battery stats and check kernel wake locks.

Thanks, I hadn't heard of watchdog yet, installed it! I will buy better battery stats when things get really out of hand

Hey all, I have a very annoying issue with my One X, it seems to have much trouble playing music..

Anoybody else with the same problem or a way to solve it?

Same here every once in a while. If I am not mistaken then this is an issue caused when the phone enters deep sleep or something along those lines. Does it always happen to you or just every once in a while ?

Same problem over here..
Pretty annoying!
by Lag do you mean stuttering at times ? Mine does that at times and can be quite random. Tried doubletwist and ubermusic players but same thing happens in those as in the sense music application.
When it starts for me I just do a reboot and it usually corrects it.
no issues with spotify here.. are you using a custom kernel? are you rooted? bit more info

More likely to be when the phone is switching from power saving core back to the main CPU.
Mine used to lag when skipping songs, over clocking did that trick

For now I have rooted my phone with CyanogenMod 10 ROM using the TripNDroid kernel they suggested.
After I did this the lag has got less, but I haven't really tested it, but I had some lag unfortunately

Hello everybody, I have a really annoying problem. I'm in cm10 nightly, latest version, and with ncx kernel.
I spend some days like this and my battery was not really good, I could get 3 hours on screen on like to much when I saw people have 4... so I decided to install the better batery stats app to watch if any app or something was drain my battery and I discover this strange wakelock about gtalk, I didn't understand why that was happening if I don't use talk, so I unnistalled it but the wakelock was still in there, in fact this screenshot is after uninstall it and some rebooted.
This morning I change the ROM to slim, but the wake lock was in there as well,so I can back to cm10.
Can anyone help me please?? I really do know what's happening...
Thank you very much!!

You need to check this after at least running the phone from full charge for a few hours. Ten mins is not enough to get an accurate picture. It may lead you to wrong conclusions.

Yes I knew, but I took this pictures after all day with the same wakelock, but I tried lots of time to reboot and wipe cache and it didn't have any effect, is for that I took the picture and I ask, cause it was the all day and today is being the same...
Please anyone know what is it? Thanks

Disable automatic back up in privacy settings. This is a cm10 related wake lock.
Also your audio out wake locks are high, disable un needed sounds in the sound settings like screen lock sound etc.

Thanks for the audio, I didn't think about it lol
And back up was the first I disabled but the wakelock was still in there....
Do you know what else can I do? Thanks
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I think i discovered what's the problem. That wakelock is simply because, like you can see in the picture,I'm connected with data connection but don't have Google services connection(know that because I was reading when the icon of connectivity, doesn't matter if WiFi or data, is grey you are not connected to Google)
I realised because I've have connected to Google services for a moment and this wakelocks disappeared.
So now I have another problem, why dont I have connection to Google services when connected by data? Even if I go to my Google account and sync it manually it connect and sync the gmail and everything but the icon is still grey and there are no connection... Because when WiFi I have and this wakelocks is not in there...
Please anyone know how to do?? Thanks you very much!!

Seriously I'm upset, I change the ROM some times and this ****ing wakelock is still in my phone, just when I use data connection, in wifi it doesn't appear.
Anyone have an idea how to fix it? I thought might be for the carrier, I'm t-mobile uk. Anyone have any idea? Thanks

In the beginning I tried just cm10 Rom and in everyone of them it was that problem, and after y flash sense toms as well and exactly the same.. and yes, I asked in the ROM posts but nobody reply me, so its for that I asked in here.
Thanks

From your posts it looks like you have a problem when off WiFi. It could be your data network. Are you sure you are using a radio with matching ril? That could cause connectivity issues.
Alternatively, Do a fresh install after full wipe of a sense based rom or go back to your stock Rom. Sync your contacts etc and then disable all Google related sync and then run better battery stats after a decent interval to see what wake locks you get.

What do you mean when you said radio with matching ril? I didn't change the radio, I use from stock one.
I will do it, I'll disable all google sync and I'll see witch wakelock will be in there. Thanks you very much Skywalker for your time

Just to clarify whether its your radio causing issues, do this and tell us your results:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sibbor.getril&hl=en
Its called GetRIL and checks your RIL against your Radio version, if they don't match then thats probably your issue. If they do then sorry I couldn't help.

Thanks mates, I downloaded the app and see that but I didn't understand really good, I have the radio matching ril, so what's that means? Thank you again!!
Edit: and what I have to do? Download and install ril or not necessary cause its matching ril??thanks
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I guess its not your radio so you will need to do it the hard way. Use a process of elimination to see which app is causing the wake locks.
Would strongly recommend that you run better battery stats after charging the phone to full and using it for the full day.

I think that's within usual standards of our Sense 5.
but if you are really complaining about it
1-use system wake detector from play store and see whats wasting your battery
or
2- try factory reset your device
I did a factory reset, charged to 100% and left my phone for a night to see wakelocks.

If you don't use google now, google + disable them in settings/apps/all, you will have more free ram and better battery, i did it and everything work the same.
