I've tried almost every ROM here, and LiteRom is the only ROM I can use on the daily, every other ROM i've tried is missing things.

LiteRom=TouchWhiz Samsung ICS=:thumbdown:
SlimBean, CM10, CM10.1, AOKP=AOSP Jellybean=
Not even a comparison.. ICS was missing massive hardware integration that jellybean fixed. CM10 is missing Nada. I use it every day since I released it.
The day Samsung decided to "TouchWhiz" ICS, it was all downhill from there. The features you say are missing are tiuchwhiz features which are not features at all, but in fact Samsung's bloated brand. AOSP is pure vanilla android the way it was meant to be.
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda premium

:good: for dman.
yea pure vanilla android is better then touchwiz. yes most of the bugs in current versions of cm10/10.1 and other aosp based roms is not exist in TW's version of ICS - like bluetooth, physical keyboard fully working and other stuff - and yes there are some nice touches in TW like their accuweather changing wallpaper. but the the overall expiration with JB is like using different OS and not just a minor upgrade so it's almost incomparable.
i will skip this rom co of testin the cm10.1 ans want to stay on that version - sacrificing using the keyboard for now, but the rom just so sliky.

I truly like CM10, but the fact that the capacitive buttons don't light up and that there's no Swype is a deal breaker for me. I'm waiting for those issues to be resolved to switch.
Edit:
Having tried this ROM, the home button doesn't work, even after a complete wipe. The calendar crashes, and most of the settings crash as well.

i too have no home key but i look in the about the rom is 4.1.2 but the gapps say for 4.2.1 maybe we r installing something different
edit: installed 4.1.2 gapps home works again have to get gapps from dmans cm10 page:

yea I tried this as well. Had no home button, apps were crashing all the time, also (AOSP) virtual keyboard force closed. Even after reinstalling this, and then other roms (CM10, cm10.1), keyboard was not working, I had to install uclj3 first to get virtual keyboard working again.. something is really messed up here,guys..

Wasn't the stock keyboard issue listed as a known issue? Did you try any keyboard other than stock? I haven't had any issues with the home key. The haptic feedback did not work on the soft keys but that's me being picky.
Dman and the other devs are working through the issues. If a ROM does not work as a DD for you then you are not forced to use it. I myself have not settled down with a 10.1 as a DD but I also understand it is important to read threads for issues instead of clogging up thread re-reporting known issues.
Sit back and chill if a particular ROM isn't working for you and let the devs work. If s for some then there something is not working for some users and working others then there has to be a logical explanation.

The makers of BusyBox, Superuser, Solid Explorer and OTAUpdater for allowing me to include their apps in this ROM.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know!
Flash with care! This ROM has been tested and should not brick or harm your device, however I am not to be held responible if it does!
You should probably credit anyone responsible for the extras so that this thread isn't closed.
And what extras are added? I'd love to an AOSP ROM with a power widget in the notification area.

Like butta!
I kind of miss some of the CM mods of CM10, but still. It's a great looking rom so far and there's no jitter or lag which was pervasive in CM. Nice work! I'll be looking for your updates for sure!
I think my only request would be the toggles in the notification drawer and a battery percentage mod. That being said, I'm sure I can find the latter around here somewhere.
Cheers!

I will add the battery percentage mod to my list!
Toggles looks like it might be hard to find out how to incorporate. I might just have to grab the CM 10 code and try to pull out the pieces that are related unless someone knows where there is a good tutorial.
I've been having problems with the native tethering (either USB or WiFi, but particularly the wireless) with any of the JB roms....this one doesn't seem any different for me....otherwise, seemed like a pretty smooth ROM.

Hmm, Well I haven't modified much of the system yet so it shouldn't act too much different. USB Tethering worked just fine for me, I can test wireless in a bit.

BIG THANKS TO MOLESARECOMING FOR ALLOWING ME TO PORT THIS TO THE NS4G
ORIGINAL THREAD FOUND HERE
PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT.
This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.

PER-APP-COLOR,
Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.
HOW TO INSTALL.
download rom
download gapps (skip if you have gapps)
place rom and gapps on root of sd
reboot into recovery
choose "install zip from sd"
choose paranoid-xxx-ns4g.zip and install
repeat for gapps
fix permissions
reboot
enjoy

TROUBLE?.
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.
THANKS.

Well done mate! Now that i've built CM10 with Dman's guide, next step would be to learn building the AOSP, AOKP ROMS out there. Can you guide me through where you started or can point me towards a couple of guides that helped you out.
Edit : Porting doesn't seem so much fun, once you can build through source

Just bundle the covenant kernel with your ROM, so its easier for users to apply.
Yup I think even allocating 130gb won't be enough and I'll have to increase that as well. Maybe somewhere to 300 gb should be good.

I tried the ROM, and it was pretty good. Some of the keys on the keyboard were a bit sticky (I noticed the U/7 key in particular), and torch doesn't work. I've been using Paranoid Android for quite a while on my Nexus 7 and I definitely love the ROM, so I'm looking forward to using this as my daily driver once it's capable.
Also, there is no way to change the status bar icons (time, wifi and battery indicators). I don't know if that's something you can fix, or if that's up to the PA team. I can do it on my Nexus 7, but I also have PA 2.99 on it. Overall, it is a very good ROM, dbrannon. :good:

:good:

I put a message in to Utacka about how to update to 2.99 but the official repo is buggy and has not been updated in a while! his repo however was forked when everything was stable for building. when I attempted to build using the official repo, I got tuns of errors! only had one with Utacka's repo wich was an error on my part!
Thanks
Thanks for the rom
Issue I noticed:
no back-light keyboard
no torch
As for the rest it seems perfect

That is the thing I noticed. At least for the Nexus 7, they are on Beta 9 of 2.99, so it may be worth waiting until they officially release PA 3.0 and then update it. As I said, though, very good ROM, and I look forward to future updates on it.

What is ChameleonOS?
"Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button," (http://www.chameleonos.org).

3.0.72 kernel, I see no reboots, but this isn't my daily phone, so idk
looks good, I'm going to try!
Someone know if have the problem with heaset-aricular battery drain ¿ I will try this rom and later say how work
So far so good, though the Chameleon OS itself doesn't have many themes so you need to use MIUI or the other options they give. Haven't had any random reboots just some force closes. Like that it has 4.2.2 which has many awesome features so will see how that works with the themes. Good job OP in porting this to our phone, thanks.
This is looking great so far, liking it very much ...

I'm pretty sure it is kernel related... Coderz .62 and .64 kernels had a fix for the heat. I wish I knew more about it. I think the MIUI rom had the first 3.xxx kernel with the fix in it.
I believe elgin has a pretty firm grasp of the problem, but no time to find the fix and implement it:

If we flash the MIUI kernel you mentioned, will it fix the problem?

its not that simple. last i checked miui was on android version 4.1 point something. The ramdisk needs to be modified even before flashing. and even if that was changed, that's still a completely different kernel.

A ROM that we want it to be. Smooth. features. Creativity. Without those in the credits in the box, i guess, you won't see this ROM being a combo.
What is Xylon?
A Generally based of many kinds of features around the Android Development and fits into minimal customization. It may act up like AOKP, but totally not at all. Overall, we're still in work in progress state of changing the base to slightly minimal like FNV before. This ROM is built off with GCC 4.7, O3, Linaro Strings enabled. (Galaxy Nexus Kernel, fusion with anarkia's horn, O3 and Linaro GCC 4.7.3 enabled.). Feature list will be available in the 2nd post. Changelogs. We don't usually write up but we will starting builds of 2.2.

blue and black tickle my fancy, so ill be flashing just to see whats up
update: flashed, and everything seems to be working fine have been looking for a rom like this one. finally found something thats not stock based that i liked since coming to the s4. nice work question though, any plans to include cyanogen mods focal app?
noticed the play store isnt updating automatically, so i updated it myself. But when i try to update my apps, it keeps saying invalid package
Nice Rom! I used the inverted 6/21 which probably didn't need to that since the Rom has a dark option. Most of my apps installed. I did have the invalid package error. Turned on WiFi and it the app installed. It's a bug in the new play store. Will themes work on this Rom?
thanks
Anyone wondering this is an excellent ROM, I have been using it since it was just fnv kang for maguro... one of my favorite ones. How can I get back to stock DPI ?? Maybe op could p put a fllashable in first post. I really dislike hybrid from pa and as such have never learned to use it
Edit: just turning of hybrid mode will bring back to stock dpi

the invalid package error also occurred in older playstore versions
update: flashing PA gapps fixed the issue for me
You are gonna force me to root my beauty and the beast. This was my only rom in the Nexus 4 before I got my GS4. Got to see first if Koush' chromecaster is built into this rom if the build is CM based.

What issues have you been experiencing w/ cam? I haven't seen anything (issues) on any AOSP ROM to date.
Like mgbote I've found camera issues on most as well. Specifically HDR mode. This ROM was no exception

This rom is solid, great rom by this young dev. The only issues that I found (phone and contacts) are related to 4.2 CM scripts, like every AOSP Rom.
But still, excellent work and cool features right?
