Hello all, I am looking for some help. The advanced search is down and I am unable to find a remedy. I have been a crackflasher since my OG Droid.
I have been using WugFresh's Toolkit without any issue until now. I have used the various versions. Today upon wiping the phone clean by reverting to stock, relocking, unlocking then rooting, I ran into an issue. When the Toolkit prompt says that it is booting into bootloader, it doesn't. Nothing has changed. I upgraded nothing. A computer restart produced same result. In trying to root, I get to that point as my device in connected and I get the fastboot issue. I power the phone down, boot into bootloader then the process continues until it reboots my phone via the prompt and the "waiting for device to boot up" window shows and rremains on the screen. My phone has already booted and there is no SU app.
In problem solving, I uninstalled the PDANet and Nexus items on the device manager as per the instructions in Wugfresh. Used the alternate USB program attached and uninstalled the items from PDANet,Samsung and the two VendorId's. I rebooted and reinstalled the drivers per instructions. Everything connects as it should but once I get to the boot into bootloader in the rooting option, it does not reboot the deviceinto bootloader. I manually do it to only get the same result again.
Any ideas? I didn't change anything until I troubleshooted. Basically, I can't re-root my device via the toolkit.
We can try to use a direct CMD command and force n fix ur phone. This issue happens sometimes with wuggy, so suggest a time u r free buddy and will try to solve your issue by taking remote assistance of your system.
Cheers !!

Don't use a toolkit? I think that should fix all your issues.

My apologies. I found the error if anyone else runs into the issue. Since I had my GNex I was able to use the front USB ports on my desktop, using Win7 64 GB and Wugfresh without any probs.
There was a Windows Update downloaded (had to be critical) to my machine for a Samsung driver. I had to then revert to the back ports. Prob solved. Thanks for those that assisted.

Hey
I know this is a greatly discussed topic but I have been through countless threads and tried everything so please bear with me! Long story short, my phone is in a massive rut at the moment and nothing seems to get it out of bootloop (tried fastboot, odin etc; yes I'm not an expert at all but I'm not exactly a noob). Odin is/was my last hope and for some reason Windows XP seems to keep crashing it the minute I hit start. I read through numerous posts on the Galaxy Nexus forum and have also tried numerous other methods including trying to go back to stock via fastboot and toolkits, trying to flash .img files individually etc etc etc and I basically need all the help I can get if someone wouldn't mind? The phone does turn on to fastboot and is detected on toolkits and drivers are fine.
For those who need the info its a i9250 GSM maguro (UK version i.e. without google wallet) running JB 4.1.1. I did try to flash maguro ICS 4.0.4 and when I go into fastboot, the bootloader version has changed to PRIMELA03 whereas I'm sure JB isn't that but I may be wrong! The phone crashed 2 nights ago and ever since then it gets stuck in bootloop when switched on, the images are noisy and fuzzy as if the phone has some kind of virus and nothing flashes on it! Fastboot just crashes requiring a battery removal all the time. Odin crashes too so I cannot flash any other firmware. The phone is not rooted but the bootloader is unlocked and I have no SD card (obviously).
Sorry if I have posted in the wrong thread or done anything I shouldn't have -_- I just need help so someone PLEASE guide me in the right direction!
Thank you in advance!!
Update: I just tried to flash JB back over the bootloader version and it changed from PRIMELA03 to PRIMELC03 so the bootloader version does change however nothing else seems to flash!
Update 2: Think i finally managed to mess my phone up. Got the yellow exclamation mark triangle between a phone and pc -__- anyone have any insight on how to go around this? Everything I have read up has more or less got to do with all other variants of Gnex other than GSM!

Tried this last night, even now, OMAP works when the phone is connected and runs the .bat file perfectly however it has NO effect on the phone, as soon as I try to boot it just comes up with the > phone!PC < screen, however ODIN does detect the phone so I am convinced it isn't a full brick! Odin however doesn't go through the process of flashing it just says FAIL in red on top once I start the process because I cannot get the phone into download mode or fastboot.

Well I didn't use the conventional way; I had a the Wugs nexus toolkit (Yes I know xda doesn't take kindly to toolkits but I only use it to launch the ADB command prompt cos I don't really know how to use the SDK toolkit method) from which I launched the command prompt and used fastboot commands through that to try flash .img files to the phone. Unfortunately it all failed even when I could access fastboot. Now Odin doesn't let me flash anything either; It just says failed.
Sorry if this doesn't answer your question but that's how I went about doing the whole fastboot bit If you mean it crashes when you open cmd maybe try launch cmd through Wugs?

No problem
Heya, got an issue with a Galaxy Nexus phone. Phone does not seem to get any reception, I've attempted to add the Rogers network multiple times, and still either it says error or there is no reception at all. It is an unlocked phone, as the lock image shown upon restarting is unlocked, and as indicated in fastboot mode.
I figured it is the radio that is messed up. So I attempted to return to stock on my friend's phone. However, USB cable does not function properly, as I have attempted fastboot multiple times such as "fastboot devices" with the proper drivers installed etc. Using AirDroid to move the files, I've entered recovery mode only for it to load to the red triangle and then it restarts.
Also have repeated the steps after factory resetting. I am out of ideas guys, hoping maybe someone can provide some insight. Greatly appreciate it!!
Galaxy Nexus is the GSM one, not LTE. Thanks again.
-Thiefa
The red triangle is the stock recovery.
Having ADB working does not mean fastboot will work as well, they require different drivers, check in Device Manager for something like Android 1.0 or Android, then update drivers for it. There is a nice guide in this section by Jubakuba.

Will look into the guide.
The thing is, with the phone plugged into any computer, it doesn't show up at all on the device manager, in order for me to update the driver.

I don't use the toolkit in general, but it's probably the easiest way to get the proper drivers installed.

The drivers are a pain the the arse.
Actually, i did that for my N7, install the drivers and the toolkit never saw the light of the day anymore.
Btw regarding the naked drivers, plug the phone in > device manager > update drivers > then direct to the naked drivers folder right?
See the problem is I've updated the drivers and everything.
Whether in Odin, I don't see the phone pop up when I plug it in.
And no IMEI shows when I use a command prompt and attempted fastboot devices.
I'm just going to tell my friend to return it to Bell.
Thanks guys.
yup im done messing with this tablet i never had so many problems in my life... so i thought my tablet was dead a lil while ago... then it came on.... so i just was watching wwjoshdo video on youtube.. about updating your N7 to 4.4.. so i followed the video and now im stuck with a tablet with NO os... i can get into bootloader and stock recovery.. my bootloader is unlocked still... i also just tried to restore it i ran that tool also and that wont work it just runs half way threw then freezes... i been going nuts... can someone that has teanviewer PLEASE help me out... ???im still new to nexus.. i havent been stuck like this in a very long time.. its called the oneclick factory restore dead or alive.. thats what i used also.. both will not finish... i have stock recovery now.. but no os..
This is why you don't use toolkits... If you can get into bootloader mode, you're fine. Boot into the bootloader and hook it up to your PC. In a command prompt/terminal window type "fastboot devices". If it returns a string of numbers and letters you're all set. Just download the factory image from the Android developers site (Google: Nexus factory images). Then follow this guide http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...1477-guide-nexus-7-factory-image-restore.html you'll be back up and running in no time my friend. If you want to thank me, just promise to never use a toolkit for nexus devices again except maybe to install the drivers...

bro thats what i did that got me into this mess... i downloaded the factory image abd followed to a tee.. it got stuck half way threw... now i have no os.. that is why i used the restore tool kit to try and fix it.. well i used the tool kit i just used a diff pc and it worked!!!! IM BACK !! thanks!!
Just for future reference sometimes things like toolkits require a fair amount of available ram. If the computer can't supply it, then the response is usually to freeze. Sometimes just rebooting can clear up enough memory.

I have a nexus 7 tablet. It stopped working and freezes at the start up screen (coloured balls circling). I have tried restart and factory reset with no luck. So decided to flash the original settings using the skipsoft Nexus 7 toolkit. I managed to use this to install the drivers on my windows 7 laptop. However I am unable to enter developer options to enable USB Debugging because the screen is frozen.
Please can you tell me how I can do this on a tablet that is frozen. I am not an expert with android and although I have searched widely have come up with no solution.
Many thanks

Did you factory reset in recovery(power + volume up)?
If you did that already you should fastboot flash the factory image manually. There should be a guide in General section that shows you how. Fast boot is way better to learn than using a tool.

Thanks very much - I have now tried to fastboot flash the image manually but I am getting an error and it seems that there is a fault in the factory image for razor-ktu84p - either that or the problem is I cannot enable usb debugging because the device is frozen. I dont find the instructions easy to follow but I am a newcomer to all this. I guess I should try another thread but thanks for your help.
I will send you $50 via paypal if you can either instruct me how to fix it, or if i can mail you the phone and you return it back to me in working order.
I just got the phone. And i have spent the whole weekend reading and following what others have suggested in this forum to no avail.
I wanted to install TWRP onto it. I followed the instruction to unlock the bootloader first int the dev settings, then in the fastboot screen. When i unlocked it i got the yellow triangle, telling me to relock it, that the system cannot check for corruption, etc. It would not move past this screen. I had to reboot. It would not enter any recovery.
I tried flashing back the stock recovery from fastboot, from the stock images, i would not go past this screen. It would not boot into the system.
I then went to try to get back to stock with the instructions from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/help/req-help-to-unbrick-t3251740
Phone will not boot, it hangs at the "google" start screen. I can not unlock bootloader from fastboot now. It gives a "DENIED" message, unable to oem unlock bootloader.
In a windows machine, the phone will not be recognized. Under device manager, its listed under 'other devices' as 'android' and the driver fails to load. Under download mode, the LG drivers will work. I can only get in download mode on a Windows machine. I can only get to fastboot on a MacOS machine through terminal.
Please help, i am going to throw this phone in the trash otherwise. I will answer any questions you may have that will help solve this.
Turn on your windows machine
Download the tool in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/development/toolkit-wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v2-1-0-t3258492
Put your phone in download mode
Open the tool, click on the home button "Flash stock + unroot" and check the box under it that says "bricked"
Problem solved
since you have installed TWRP do as written HERE.
It is confirmed that is working for nexus 5x too, read the whole thread anyway!

Wug's may work for you. It may not. I've used it since its inception but have found issues with it off and on. As far as drivers go, my Windows 10 machine seems to have issues since last few updates. So far, (I have a rooted N5, N9, and complete stock 5X) updating the drivers through device manager has worked every time. Choose update from on drivers on PC then run through update on both drivers shown under android interface (or similar). Be sure the device is awake and connected when updating, of course.

Thank you, i will take you up on that offer.
This is the only thing that comes up when i connect via fastboot, this and a drivers not installed alert. I CAN NOT install them manually, the dialog just says the Windows could not find the drivers.
