Galaxy note 2 vs future Nexus

Wow I just saw a "hands on" of the galaxy Note 2, man! gotta love that big screen
With jelly bean.
Release date by October which means around the corner of the next nexus also with jelly bean, but smaller screen

Why? the Super AMOLED HD used in the S3 is much improved over the one we have on the Nexus

sources seem to be all over the place, but from what i've seen it's basically SAMOLED+. whatever it is, it's an improvement over the pentile arrangement in the Nexus/SGSIII.
unless i see something coming down the pipeline for a US release with the S4 Pro (quad core) i'll be getting the Note II on release day for T-mo.

I wish the next nexus can have a huge screen. Software wise I don't care about another device but the Nexus. Can't help it man, I love gadgets.

Trust me...you don't want to go past the 4.8-inch mark. I own the Note...and long-term....it's a little inconvenient. =)

Nooooo! NO bigger than what it is now. Not even 4.8. I'd actually prefer a 4.5 inch or something, the 4.65 is a tad large at times when I want to reach to top left corner.

Screen Size
Im an x note owner, I have had my Nexus for more than 5 months now. I have to admit that I still suffer a little bit from missing the larger screen, I even ran Tablet UI mode to take advantage of my screen. Yes I wish the next nexus has a bigger scren ! Cause I don't think I can own anything other than a Nexus at the time being...

In a business enviroment, the way they implemented the s-pen to work as a MAJOR feature of the note 2, it is going to change the course of smartphones pretty drastically. I think once it is out, and its functioning as they designed, people are going to start expecting a new level of interaction and function with their phones that will likely set the enviroment of which other manufactures will have to adapt to or be eaten. I could go on, but point here, This phone is going to be a big influence in what tomorrows devices will be capable of and i think it it is going to show undeniable ingenuity in the smartphone business that cannot be ignored.:beer:

It really is MUCH more than a stylus, its the leader of its 5 in. Ecosystem. Its designed to lead the software even better than the software was designed to acknowledge its directions.

True, the note 2 is coming out and might be worthy of one of your upgrades. Personally I would buy two iPhone 5s and flip em, make 5-600$ and keep my GS3.

I think ifbit has the octa5 it wouod be an upgrade but I still woukd not leave my Note2 for it. I am waiting for the Note3 I feel the Note line is better with more features than the S series

No. If the leak holds true then the GS4 has got to be the laziest design upgrade, ever.
Rather keep my horses tight for the Note 3

Still haven't seen a phone announcement that makes me feel compelled to part with money for a new phone. 8 cores are cool but there are still nothing software wise that makes all those cores worth it.

It will all depend on the specs. If it gets wireless charging, way better processor, 2gb ram, 32gb internal memory, same or better battery that's removable and better features plus the ones I currently have then yes I may sell my note 2 for the gs4. But it really has to impress for me to go through the trouble of selling my note 2 and buying the s4 at full retail.

Waiting for the note 3 regardless. However, if I didn't know about the note 2, and stuck with the galaxy s line, I wouldn't go for the s4 based on the leaked photos that I hope aren't real, spec wise with a different look, I'd be all over it.

Nope. Note for life. Will never go back to a GSx phone. All the rumored tech will make it to the Note lineup eventually anyway. I love my N2 too much to blow an upgrade on an inbetween phone.

It remains to be seen if the footprint of the phone gets bigger with that extra .4 inches of screen; it may be the same size! That'd be cool. But regardless, the S4 looks boring and it'll be more than 2 years until 4 cores of processing will not get you where you need to be. 8 core phones are something that I completely do not care about, I'd rather they put that effort into better design materials.

Note 3!!! Anything less is uncivilized!!!

Agreed. Although, the iphone 4G to 4GS (or 3G to 3GS) set the precedent for lame/lazy design upgrades. I think Samsung is just following suit.

I dont think its worth giving up the Note 2 for but if you have a update and are going to get it thats the way to go
Thats what I did im keeping my Note 2 and upgrading to the S4. Keeping the Note for backup device and for work purposes

I got a upgrade a few days back. Choose the Note2 over the S4. Had a S3, Best buy gave me $268 for it. I could have left the store with the S4 for total $4.78 after my trade in , tax and best buy reward points. But I wanted the larger Note2 indtead and dont regret it.

Me personally wont trade my note 2 for the s4, my buddie has the s4 and man its to small for me its a cool device but also were going to get 4.2.2 in the middle of may or jun so im keeping mines.

I think it will be a little longer than May-June that we have to wait for 4.2 2 I would say july-August. If I had to guess that is what I would guess.

Sorry but there's no other phone out there that I would give up my Note for, I'm too spoiled by the screen size & 7 hours screen on time & I can never look at a smaller sized phone the same ever again.

My Choice
My Epic 4G died a few days ago and I had an upgrade. I chose the Note 2 over the S4. Battery life, bigger screen (to make up for the loss of my keyboard) and SPen plus other things that I cant put into words sold me. I used both side by side and just loved the Note2. When we get 4.2.2 I think that will make the note 2 even more awesome...IMHO. Now I have TWRP on it and trying out ROMs...Loving the Note 2. :good:

Try synergy. Best rom imohop. I have flashed at least a 100 on my S3. Since I bought the note 2 this is the only rom for this phone. It is stock on speed, but I themed it with a seperate program and have it just the way I like it.

S4 is beast man who ever said it looks like the s3 in every way can suck it. It dont. It has so many wicked features that we wont get. The screen is so much crisp you can right away tell. 13meg Camera comes in handy in low light litteraly

I don't think the megapixels have much to do with low light as the quality of the sensor itself and f.stop and aperture. I'd much rather a lower MP with better sensor and F.stop than all the megapixels in the world.
But i get your point nonetheless.

Just got my S4 today coming from the Note2 and I have to say I don't miss the Note2 one bit this device is world class

What was your problem with the note2? I had a chance to pick up the S4 cheaper than the note2 but choose it because of size which fits me perfectly.

SVDO is the only reason why I'm skipping to the next release, hopefully they'll add it back. But also because it's not that impressive.

Has any one developed an add on for S Voice. In the past I had a Iphone 4s and jailbroke it. Then added some files for Siri. When you launched Siri I would say load brain and Siri would be much funnier, and have great comebacks. Is their an android version?

If the GNote 3 looks anything like that I'll be buying one the 1st day it comes out.

The only thing holding me back getting the S4 is USB mass storage. Not sure why Samsung does not allow that.

Rumors say that it's benchmarks are lower Sg s4

Benchmarks are double that of the S3. Battery is slightly better. My only complaint about the s4 is that sSamsung bloated the software so much that only 8gb is available on a fresh device. After removing bloat I was able to get it to about 9.5gb but that's still not much.
I only got the s4 because my daughter needed a new phone and I wasn't going to pay for another s3 when I can pay a little more for the s4 and pass down the s3 to her. I will still be around the s3 forum as there is 2 of them in the family.
As for the note if I am not wanting something that huge. Might as well carry a laptop or a tablet and put on Skype or something similar
