By the way , That Light is really a Battery Drainer . If you want to turn it on just use Automatic Brightness on the Display setting then light shows up .
I Know.
I installed CM9 again and it work. I think its maybe when i get in the recovery mode. after this the lights dosent work

Hello!
I just switched from HTC Hero to HTC Wildfire S
Is there any ROM or App that lights up the hardware buttons permanently?
I know that they are linked to the light sensor. But in low-light conditions I really can't tell where the buttons are

Hmm, don't know if there are any apps. But I'm sure the light sensor works perfectly when it comes to seeing the soft buttons..
Welcome to the WFS forum anyway.
Well for me the light sensor does not work properly here. I cannot see the buttons dusky in light conditions
Try screen filter it has options for turning on the button lights.
When u Start the program it'll dim ur screen then click it's settings in notification bar and adjust the slider to set the dimness and select the option to light up the buttons.
Not sure what u mean by permanent but just try it out and give a thumbs up if it helped
Hi! Screen Filter does not work even thought I selected the option for light up the buttons
By permenent I mean: I want the hardware buttons to light up always when the display is on.
Isn't. That the. Default case?
My buttons. Are always lit when. My display. Is on
Edit: using cyanogenmod 7.2
Maybe this will help

Watch QBkings video of this rom, he shows how to turn these on screen buttons off in the first two or three minutes. Forget this, misread the question
There used to be an application called led hack that would turn off the capacitative buttons. Not on the market but you night be able to find the apk and see If it works

Not to be a necromancer but I'd really like to tackle this and be able to turn the backlights off.
LED Hack does not work for our device but Screen filter does, It'll turn the lights off until you turn the screen off and back on, the lights will then turn back on.
I'm not seeing anything in the logcat that gives a hint as to what the app is doing.
Any news on this?
It seems like many ICS based ROMs, not only AOKP, keep the capacitative button lights on whenever the screen is on. This causes more battery to drain and makes it hard to use as a clock radio (too bright). I have yet to find a setting to turn that off so it times out like most GB ROMs.

On any TW based ICS rom, you can select them to be always off.
Menu -> Settings -> Display -> Touch Key Light Duration
there should be a flashable zip to turn off the lights either in the codename thread or the aokp thread
Hi All!
Just got my OneX yesterday.
All was great until nightfall came and I've noticed that the keys aren't lighting up.
The light sensor works fine, and when I plug the charger the buttons light up, but when I unplug the phone, even in a very dark room - no light...
I saw there were a few posts on this subject before but with no conclusion.
Anyone else encountered this / knows what to do?
Thanks
Eyna
I find this only happens when the battery drops below a level and Powersave kicks in? How charged was the battery?
It happens at all levels.
When i go to *#*#3424*#* and do Led test it sometimes works qnd sometimes dont, so its not lamp issue.
Any ideas?
Do tour buttons light up every time you cover thé light sensor (the same way the brightness is reduced)?or is it inconsistent?
Anyone?

Try texting yourself?
I'm fairly sure the leds light up when you receive an SMS or something.
Texting didn't work...
I know the led works, its just that it doesn't work systematically. I can be in a pitch dark room and not have the buttons light up, and I can be in a dimmed light room and have them lit.
My questions is if you guys have the same issue, or does your buttons light up every time its dark?
Appreciate all you help!

I'm running a custom ROM so the LEDs behave differently anyway. Can't remember what they were like on Stock (didn't run stock for very long)
Hello, I'm currently using CyanogenMod 11 [BR4] and I'm unsure if it's an issue with the rom or my device as they used to work before this rom.
The bottom button light is always turned on when the screen is turned off. The brightness goes down, but they're still turned on at a dimmed level.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Not from my side at least,I'm also on BR4. Well the only way you may try is to change the rom, Try any nightly or any other rom. But in my opinion it has nothing to do with Capacitive sensors. Some sort of light panel issue(Hardware Issue) :fingers-crossed:, not rom itself.

Seems the issue was to do with overclocking. Reduced the CPU speed and seems to work perfect now.
autobrightness is not working for me. after ive flashed fastboot rom .. i noticed that my screen was very bright at nigth. so checked brightness.
manually brightness works ok up and down.. but in auto only works on high settings but it wont go down. or seems to go down but brightess doesnt change..
enter cit presing kernel verion did a test on light sensor. flux sensor goes up and down depending of light but the brightness value doesnt change down only up high.
