2) Switching off taking out battery , mmc and sim.
3) Fully charging the mobile , disabling auto brightness and screen rotation
I was not using any custom rom as i new to andriod world .

Hi, have you tried changing the color profile? By reducing it to cooler color might make you device render less . If you still get this problem feel free to drop some question in my thread, just click on the link below

Settings > display > screen mode and change from there. If the other fixes didn't work I'd be sending it back if it was me.

Hi to all,
I checked this forum and I can't see similar threads. If it exists just merge it or post a link and close this one. Thanks.
My problem is that I recently bought Samsung Y and for now I can't use to its touch grid. I used HTC tattoo before and it was everything ok with using its touch grid. With Samsung i always must touch slightly up and left than "I can see it needs to be touched". I red in some forums that you cannot calibrate screen because Samsung have some algorithm for autocalibrating but for me it isn't working. The phone has horizontal calibration but it is not what I need. And this problem I have with all applications not just with keyboard (although it is annoying when you type one SMS for a long time!).
Please help me if you can. I rooted my HTC, and if it helps I can root Samsung too, but I can't see that that would help.
uhmm try going to the settings then use the calibration tool..lay flat your galaxy y on a flat surface and press calibrate..this works for me.. ;-)

Like I said in Subject of the thread, I do not need horizontal calibration. :-(
I think the best solution is send it to Samsung service centre since you still have the warranty.

I think that the calibrate function under settings calibrates horizontally and vertically as well.

Hello,
I know I am not a most active member of XDA comunity, but I am lurking here for a while now.
I tried to search across the forum to find help for my problem but couldn't find it.
Here is what happens. At some parts of a menu(app order or blinkfeed themes) letters are not shown the way should be,but I'm only getting some weird artifacts instead.
When I accces setting menu through those artifacts,my setting menu is shown same way,but if I acces it normally, through an app screen(home>settings) letters are shown normally.
Since English is not my native language, and I have trouble to explain and describe what my problem really is,I attached 3 screenshots therefore.
This is an ebay phone,so I don't have a guarantee list what makes xda my first choice in trying to solve a problem.
Thank you in advance
Cheers

Uhm,sorry.I'm on the stock rom,unrooted,JB 4.2.2 and sense 5.
Can you add some screenshots of the software info panel. Settings - about - software ?
Only thing i can think of is to do a factory reset and re-set up the phone

Back to the civilisation...
I tried to turn phone on and off several times but no success at all.I searched all over the internet to find people with similar problem, and have actually find quite a few,but their problem was broken screen, where artifacts were always on the screen, and not only on 2 menus with submenus.Since I haven't been at home,I did most of my search on the phone, and of course,at the evening, battery was almost drained so I put the phone on the charger over the night.Unfortunatelly(or maybe I should say luckily),somehow the connection between phone and the charger was loose, and was interrupted,so till morning, phone was really dead. After connecting it to a charger,it needed couple of minutes only to get a charging light, but after turning the phone on,the artifacts were gone!Everything was as it used to be,
Conclusion:
Where the problem was?I really can't say.
Like I said before,I tried to get rid of those artifacts by switching the phone of and on several times, but it didn't help.
I haven't done a factory reset primarily because I was to lazy to even think about adjusting the phone again, not to mention doing it.
And at some moment, when O was already at peace with those two menus shown with artifacts instead of letters, charger situation happened,Seems that battery draining and recharging it again had some weird connection with artifacts on the screen.
Thanks everybody for,at least, reading my post
Cheers
Hi,
Firstly i am sorry for my Bad English,
I own a NOte II and i am using DN3 Rom.
I am having this new issue since last night.
Issue :
The Mobile accepts S Pen Touch input while still in the air.
I mean, if i am holding the S Pen in the air (no touch) some times the Air Command Window Opens, or if i am moving the S PEN in the air, the windows move (I am bad with English)
Is there any solution to this ? its very annoying.
The mobile is NEW (bought it 4 months back)
Please help
Please help me, its very annoying .
I read long back an article to adjust the sensitivity of the S PEN, but which sensitivity does that change ?

you just need to flash the rom again and when u do so try Philz 5.15.0 and delete dalvik cache and if u can format your internal sd carf before installing that will be much better

I really dont see why that should help (may be it does, but I dont see a point)
How ever, i have been digging through How this S PEN actually works and found out that there are 2 potentiometers (pots) for calibration.
1. is for the sensitivity
2. No idea,
Also I found this video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viDDKGPj2FI
This is exactly what i am facing too, so i will be trying this.:fingers-crossed:
Does any one know what the OTHER POT does ?
EDIT: Update
I just followed the video and It worked :victory:
I still wonder if some one can explain what does the SECOND pot do ?

Guys I observed this closely and I found that this flickering occouring oly some times and it's clearly visible only in apps when I set a white wallpaper on homescreen can't see any flickering but at same time its there in browser gallery etc and when I touch screen it disapperas and reoccur when I didn't touch display but this flickering is present only for some time not continuous. I think it's not display problem but software glitch which all of u have and u guys might not noticed it

I took it to customer care yesterday and it was funny that the guy there showed me his note 3 which also have same flickering and they said that it's normal with amoled due to voltage variation at low brightness levels. So I left customer care without replacing display:victory:
Actually I don't want them to teardown my new phone so I thought of changing display after some time if it get more worse

am using latest 4.3 update I think it's problem with Indian INU firmware will be solved by 4.4 soon guess
I did a factory reset yesterday and kept brigtness above half till now I didnt have ny flickering.
I found this on web
There seems to be a
problem where the phone has problems
deciding if the software or hardware(CPU
vs. GPU) is what should be drawing the
screen… So this indecision causes it to
switch back and forth, redraw, etc….
Over at XDA there are lots of post relating
to this problem. Below is a temporary
solution to the problem
Here are the instructions!!
Temp Fix: (until they find/fix the problem)
1. Go to settings > about phone
2. Click “build number” 6 times fast
3. You’ll see “you’re now a developer” as
a notification at the bottom.
4. Go back to settings, you’ll now see
developer options above ‘about phone’.
5. Go in developer options, and click
“disable hardware overlays” under the
drawing section
This will fix the flickering!! The problem is
with android 4.2.x, the OS gets confused
and can’t decide if the CPU or the GPU
should be drawing the screen, so it flickers
do to it switching between the CPU and
GPU real fast…
Hope this helps anyone out there
experiencing this problem, and spread the
word to anyone else you know to make it
known! Loads of people are re flashing,
returning to stock, even returning their
phones because of this bug! So spread the
word to prevent others from making this
mistake.
