I stupidly installed an unsupported Chainfire Battery Mod (eu.chainfire.nomoarpowah.pro)
which now freezes my phone completely when I attempt to plug it in while powered off.
The problem I'm having is as follows.
1) Shut down the phone.
2) Plug in a USB cord to charge the phone.
3) Get sent to the battery (full screened) which indicates battery status while charging.
4) Phone locks up with an empty battery icon and a circle in the middle.
5) Have to pull battery and hope that I still have battery life left.
As you can see, this potentially can brick my phone if I'm left without a way to charge it
Can anyone dump the stock battery charging partition and create a flashable zip so I can restore?
I've attempted to re-flash the ROM / Kernel as well as do a factory restore.
Thank you!
When you reflashed the ROM did you also wipe the system? That formats and removes the ROM completely which is a bit dangerous but if you have a copy of another ROM on your phone you can install it right away through recovery. If that doesnt work try one of the battery mods from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2053075
I noticed the same thing happening to mine. It started after I soft bricked flashing a note1 rom. Ive since recovered by putting a rom on an sdcard and wiping and flashing.

I have a one X unlocked international version which I had rooted and set up a recovery. I then went on to try to flash over ARHD after super wiping, and did a battery stat reset since I had flashed at around 30% and figured it would reset the calibration on the battery. Anyways, from here this is where it goes bad. After restarting it goes into a boot loop and ends up getting kicked back into bootloader. After this I try to factory reset to no avail. After trying to reflash the rom a couple times using recovery, recovery just died and won't even load anymore. In addition to this I can't get the battery to hold a charge as each time I plug it in it reboots and loads then says 0 battery and dies instantly. I can get to bootloader and fastboot but can't flash anything through fastboot because it says the battery is too low.
Any suggestions on how to fix this and get it back up and running, or am I forced to send it to HTC the moment they bring in parts for it. (right now HTC says there is a wait on parts as they do not have any in stock as its a new phone and their texas facility has diddly on hand)
Any suggestions are welcome as to fixing this predicament.

How did you wipe batterystats, from CWM? As the recoveries are new I suppose it's possible something went wrong if you did it that way, but it seems unlikely.
However, though probably not the root of your problem, there's no point in wiping batterystats.bin, as all that file holds in information on what processes have been using battery since your last unplugged your charger. This was one of those android myths (I used to do it too ) that was officially put to bed early in the year:

I'm pretty sure I've seen others with this issue, have a search around the forums. Have you tried turning the phone from the bootloader screen, and leaving it plugged in to charge for a while?
Try this:
1. Boot into bootloader
2. Select Fastboot menu
3. Select "Power off" to shut down the phone
5. Plug in charger
Leave it for a while. From what I've read, the power LED may flash at first, but should settle after a few mins to a solid red. I'd leave it till it's green and fully charged then try again.
If that works, and you can get into recovery again, try restoring your backup of the stock ROM if you have one, to check the phone boots okay. (If you didn't take a backup first, you will next time. ) Otherwise try re-flashing the ROM, or if that fails you might have to re-flash stock recovery, re-lock your bootloader and then run the relevant RUU for your device to flash the stock firmware back. You'll have to unlock and root again in that case.
Good luck, hope it works for you!
Hello Guys
I have a desire z that im not using atm and I give to my friend for her to use it, but she give it back to me because some problems
If the phone is on and have battery would charge for something like 1 minute and not charge any more
If i switch off the phone and plug the charger would after a minute turn on and go straight to CW recovery
if i don't do anything would switch off and start the cycle of charging for a minute and boot in CW recovery
even if i select turn off from there would turn off and would go to CW again
somehow the other day the phone started to charge, as soon as it was 100%
I format partition / clear cache / and flash again on a new rom (some sweet JB one Jb baby or i think is called )
the phone was working fine i let it drain the battery normally
When i tried to charge again would not allow me to charge for more than a minute
I switched off and when i plugged the charger when to CW recovery again
ok today after many switch off and stuffs is charging again.
Is not the charger is the same charger i use everyday for my phone and is working fine
(also i tried with others too )
any idea what can be? im not feeling like say to my friend , ok everytime you want to charge do random stuff until it does
many thanks
I would look into a new battery from what you saying.
The boot to recovery was a common issue with old clockwork recoveries
But stopping charge after a minuet sounds like the circuit in your battery is about dead
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I had the same problem on ClockworkMod Recovery. I changed recovery to 4EXT Recovery Touch v1.0.0.5 RC9 and my problem disappeared
Thanks for you answer
A new battery had no problem to be charged until 100% and im testing how it works
seems like the problem is a bad battery at the end.
also thanks for the recovery tip I am using the 4EXT and the problem is gone.
I wish that you might have the pit file for the Galaxy S4 Mini Duos because everytime I go to recovery and try to wipe cache it gets an error and restarts the phone! an of course that creats the random reset problem that I have!!! Tryed to flash via odin the stock firmware 5-6 times! It says pass everything is fantastic but it still makes random reboots even when trying to setup the phone! By the way the phone has never been rooted or anything!!! Please help!!! saw a GT-i9500 with the same problem but no solution in that site! they did say that it was a stock recovery problem but even so by reflashing the rom should of fixed that correct? the phone works but could randomly restart 2-3 times at once and then work for a few hours and then over and over again!!! It seems that the more I use it intensevly the more prone to restarts it gets!!!
1. Switch off the phone, plug the phone into its power source, and do not turn it on until the charge has reached its maximum.
2. Try to factory reset and clear cache by going to recovery mode.
3. It can also be a firmware problem, so download a different firmware and flash through odin.
4. Main reason can also be due to the battery. Check to make sure the battery stays tight in its slot. One possible cause of a phone restarting on its own is a loose battery. The phone can turn off and back on quickly if the battery is slightly loose and momentarily becomes jarred free.
5. Replace the battery.
6. Go to samsung store.

Hello
I have a question if anyone can help me what the problem is with my LG LU6200 handset
On the stock Rom once set is operational it runs smoothly charge and discharge as regular but after a week it automatically reboot and after reboot it not start and continuously rebooting saying use genuine battery. I remove the battery plugin the charger into the handset and put the battery after a minute it start in the charging mode showing the battery charging in off mode then I turn on the phone and it start working as normal until it reboot automatically or I turn off.
I use the custom rom for testing in the custom rom it run as normal but once I reboot the phone or turn off and turn on again it not reboot but start draining the battery even with charger plugged in the battery keep on discharging instead of charging and it come back to normal with same process by removing the battery plugin charger then insert the battery after a minute on the start of charging turn on the phone now it charging is increasing while charger is plugged in.
Now please someone help me what is the problem? ROM or the battery replacement or the phone become faulty ( That is unlikely because phone work as normal for weeks even if I not restart it or it automatically reboot)
Also when it happen my phone date go back to the last time it was booting in normal working state

I not tried the format battery state through recovery but I did try it by deleting the batterystat.bin from the system and reboot the phone so that the battery index is fresh and it not helped phone start the abnormal behaviour after any reboot. Format battery state in the recovery do the same thing I suppose deleting the batterystat.bin file from system but I try to do that with the recovery now as well
.Try to discharge the battery completely, play with game or video until your phone die then charge it until it completely full at 100% then leave it for a hour. Then test the battery life

Thanks, I already drained the battery and charged it back full many many times but battery life is not the problem my battery run 24 hours approx with medium use some calls couple of sms, facebook, Whatsapp and Wifi is on 24/7 and connected usually.
I tried the battery stats reset from the the recovery mentioned by abuulala there is some improvement now it is not rebooting after power up and charging as normal. Thanks abuulala for the tip, but still have the random shutdown and start again automatically sometime that stop only by removing the battery and inserting it again.

I did all those and currently using the Sphinx 4.1 rom posted by AMACreative working very good battery discharging problem is solved but this rom also force shutdown and keep on rebooting one time it happen that I am not sure why. my guess is when the ram get used alot with many apps running it shutdown by force but I am not sure yet it is sw creating the problem or hardware however after the wipes and coming to custom rom discharging problem while charger is plugged in is solved
hi,
I thought my battery is start to die. I stuck in TWRP new layout. Just finished wiping all data, and need to flashing.
But drastically the battery is dropping out. Let me stuck at bootloader. I cant go for flashing due to the battery is too low to flash.
In searching button had found many workaround to fix this issue. I have no idea. What I need to do now is to charge my HOX for flashing.
Question is
Did my workaround below is correct?
Go to fastboot menu. Power down option. Plugged in wall socket for charging. There red led with battery lightning in the screen.
Will this solve my problem. How many hour to get back my 100% full for flashing?
thank you

After stumbling and digging via search button
If you stuck in fastboot with low battery to flash. Just flash an original stock recovery.
Than via fastboot, power down let your HOX charge with wall charger. This give you 100% full charges.
After that you can flash again any custom recovery you need. This is fast and reliable than battery script which take forever. This is life saver. Credit to dortok.
