i recently bought a extended battery with cover off of the official VZW online store. the battery worked great for about a day until the battery life ran out, then i tried to charge it and now it just started randomly shutting off on me even when the phone said i had about 60% battery remaining. so i left it in the charger over night and now it wont even turn on at all until i put in the regular battery. so i ordered a new one and you know what happened? the exact same problem occured with this battery to. it worked fine for a day, then it ran out of juice and completely stopped working.
so here is my warning to all of you. DO NOT BUY THE EXTENDED BATTERY. it is complete garbage and does not work at all. dont waste your time or money on it because you will for sure have the same problems i did. i am now stuck with 2 non working extended batterys that i need to send back to verizon to get my money back.
I was having crazy issues with my batter acouple nights ago. I never let my phone completely die but it happened this sat. I put it onthe charger then when I tried to turn the phone on the battery meter went from 0% to 5% to 60% then I unplugged it and tried turning it on to no luck... thereafter I put it on the charger and waited for it to get to about 15% and turned it on while still plugged into the wall and it started up. I let the battery charge full and the phone began working like normal.
I am on leaked 2.2, with rubix rom and o/c'd 1.15 and on stock battery
I have 2 stock batteries that I swap daily. If you let the phone die completely you can't turn it back on until you've charged the battery to at least 5%. Sometimes when I swap a battery from a fully charged to one that's about 15% to recharge, it says it's at 60%. Not sure why, but it sounds like the phone's software looks at the readings and says to itself, "there's no way I can go from 100% to 15% when I shut down and rebooted." I'm sure it's just the software being stupid.
I've had the extended battery since I bought the phone about a month ago, never had a single problem with it and my battery life is great...
I bought the extended battery when they became available, and have not had a problem with it. Knock wood
Love my extended battery. No issues here.

No issues with my extended battery either. In fact, I regularly get 30 - 36 hours out of it!!
Extended here too, no problems whatsoever since it was released. The issue I have is the motorola cases not fitting.
Had I known this, I would have bought the Siedo extended battery instead.

I just bought 1 of the hard cases from verizon and it's allllmmost perfect. No problems whatsoever except for that the 1 spot above the charging port will not stay snapped. i got my extended battery last night. I let it charge for 12 hours for the first time and I hope that helps it. I kind of believe that that is some peoples problem. they don't let it charge long enough the first time. I let it charge 10 to 12 hours and then let it die all the way the first 2 or 3 charge cycles. Then I usually plug it in once It gets down to 15 percent and every 10 or so charge cycles I let it die completely. I can't wait for the seidio 2800 mah battery. Is there any news on a release date? I had the 3500mah battery for the incredible and it was spectacular. I use the phone so much that the standard battery only lasts 3-5hrs but the seidio innocell lasted 1.5 days. A huggggeeee upgrade. But I couldn't find a reasonible case afterwards so I kinda put my silicone case on and traced around the new battery cover with a boxcutter to make it fit. Afterwards I melted the edges with a lighter to smooth them and prevent splitting. The DInc seidio extended case doesn't cover the bat door anyway. Not to mention it doesn't even cover half the edges. I sure hope they design a bettr case for the DX cuz I love their batteries are the best

Are you using the Moto charger?
I had similar problems with my first extended battery for the Droid X. However Verizon replaced it, and there has been no problem since.
As for incompatibility with cases, I use the snap on clear case from Verizon. Had problems with it not wanting to stay snapped together. After modifications to the case failed to correct the issue, I removed the battery cover completely. No issues anymore.
Plus since I use the clear case, I have a nice nerdy view from the back.

I received my Extended Battery two days ago. I love it! It holds significantly more power. And I can still use my Body Glove Droid X cover with the Extended Battery and included battery cover.
Anyway... I rate my extended battery experience as 10 out of 10.
I cant say I noticed to much of an increase but i'm back and forth with modding and o/c so I know lots of that goes into play with battery times.. right now i'm on an UV and I can easily go into a 2nd work day without needing a charge.
+1

Yes...extended battery didn't make a bit of difference...it made a HUGE difference.
It is barely noticeable in size...fits in the multi-media dock, no probelm with my hybrid TPU case...and lasts quite a bit longer.
Or maybe I should say...gets me through to where if I did run out of juice...I'm at home with a charger. Either way...I'm good from 6am to 6pm at least. (i dont call anyone btw). Just massive amounts of texting and web.
I have had mine for almost 2 months and it works great. I deffinitely notice a difference from the stock battery. Would by again if I had to do it all over.

It's good to post your experience, however don't you think a sample of one device and two batteries doesn't qualify as a crappy accessory? I've been running an extended battery since it came out with great results. As a matter of fact a week ago I tried to go back to the standard battery just to make sure the improvement wasn't in my head and the difference was at least 3 hours.
So assuming you aren't frightened at the prospect of returning a battery if it doesn't work for you, go ahead and get one. For a very modest bump in weight it adds a lot of life.

Don't buy the extended battery
I also bought the extended battery from Verizon. It works fine except for a small problem. The built-in battery monitor some times complains that I have installed a non-compatible battery or something like that and suggests that I replace it with the original. A question mark "?" shows up in the status bar and the battery level is not reported correctly.
I picked up "Juice Defender" and paid for the pro model. It says that in last 48 hours It has multiplied battery life by X1.73. I also downloaded an app called "battery Status" which shows the percentage of battery left. Lots of nice options for display.
So what did I do with my original battery? Hmmm I noticed that it is fairly thin so I stuck it in my wallet. Since the ram is non-destructive, I can change the battery when it gets low.
All in all I am very happy with the "Extended Battery" I got from Verizon.

I have been using my extended battery for two day now and......
It is uber-awesome! I am very happy with it at the moment!!!!!! (two days, I was typing faster than I was thinking!)
What is your experience with the official extended battery for the inc2? Although I appreciate the thinness of the standard battery, but I wanted to know how exactly how much longer you'd say the extended battery lets your phone stay on. What about the thickness, it seems that most people on these forums actually appreciate a thicker incredible 2. I downloaded an app which keeps the battery percentage in the notification bar and it's really depressing to see how quickly the percentages drop while actually using the phone, on the standard battery.
Vzw extended battery gives me about 6 hours longer than the stock battery. Extra thickness doesn't bother me at all. Phone is noticeably lighter when I use stock battery.

I have never used the stock battery, VZW sent me an extended battery (only) with my Fascinate replacement DInc2. My battery last a long time... Days...
The thickness is not bad, it is a bit concerning not having a case though...
Awesome, looks like I'll be getting one, once I ascertain that the gps issues I've been having are not phone related.

Well, I got the battery and the capacity is ridiculously good. It could likely last me two days under regular use. But it is too thick. I think I will look into those slim extended batteries. Of course, if anyone wants to chime in on those, by all means.
According to another thread, the mugen 1800mah is pretty good. Is there any reason not to purchase it from ebay? It seems to be a bit cheaper

Same here (I bought an OEM battery from ebay for like 10 bucks though). I bought a 5 pack of TPU cases for 7.99 from ebay to cut out for use with my extended battery. Worked out excellent (sorry no pics right now), but the contour lines are the same on the ext battery, so you just have to exacto around that area to let the 'belly' stick through the newly cut case. It at least protects the edges/corners and screen (so you can lay the phone down upside down). Would recommend giving it a shot if you got a few extra bucks laying around; can't hurt if you ruin one or two cases. BTW, the cases I got are excellent TPU cases (fitment and protection) for both my extended and OEM battery....
I love extended battery. Two solid days of moderate/heavy use. I would say close to double the battery life of the OEM, although it's hard to quantify.
Was given the extended battery from Verizon when they sent me my Dinc2 as a replacement for my D2G. Since I have never had the regular battery, I can tell you that with my phone being rooted, all VZW crap frozen and medium/heavy use (camera for work, texts, email(gmail auto sync) phone calls), mine last me well into 3 days. Just wish there was a case for the extended battery. May just get the belt clip since you can place phone display inwards.

I can confirm this as well. Just beware, the thickness it adds to the phone is almost ugly. The extended case is an eye sore.

I find that the extended batteries hump lends to a better grip on the phone.
If WiFi is on which is while home and work, at the end of the day approx 17 hours off charger I routinely have around 65% remaining. This is with about 3 hours of screen on, facebooking, web surfing, game playing and a few hours of music.
I have calibrated the battery yet. I honestly don't have that much time to let it drain all the way.

I found this extended battery case on eBay for £15.99 with free UK delivery.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=180939675217
It fits my SGS3 perfectly, very secure clip at the top and the micro USB connector at the bottom keep it in place very nicely.
It does effectively double the weight of the phone, but for added battery capacity I'm willing to put up with the extra weight.
It has all the required cut outs for camera, light, speaker, headphone jack, and the microphone.
The volume rocker and power button are exposed, and the case does get in the way a little, but not much, will probably prevent accidental button hits in my pocket.
It has an integrated stand which seems sturdy and clips snugly and securely into the back of the case. It does a good job of keeping the phone at a comfortable viewing angle and seems quite strong.
As for the battery part of this case, there are 4 blue status lights that show remaining capacity and an on/off button along the bottom. I have yet to properly test capacity, it came with about 50% charge, and I charged it up to full in about 2 hours from that, and charged the phone at the same time from 56% to full. I'll update this post when I see how well it charges the phone from around 1%.
I'll post some pictures of the phone in the case later, any questions are welcome.
Update: OK, so the battery case managed to get my SGS3 up to 84% from 4%, so an 80% charge without needing to reach for a charging cable is pretty good for a Chinese eBay battery, can't complain for the price!

what are the end result dimensions? I have the hyperion 4200MAH battery and cas, and was wondering mow much larger yours is than mine.
for reference mine is: 140mm long x 73mm wide x 18mm deep. (with the hyperion honeycomb case)
2. function:
what kind of change did you get in battery life? for reference, i more than doubled.. perhaps closer to 2.5 times my battery life.

1. Dimensions are 148 x 73 x 14
2. This is an external battery pack, not a battery replacement, and as stated in original post, I have not fully tested the charging capabilities yet, will be reporting on those later. From the capacity of the battery I would guess that it charges the battery 1 1/2 times, but that's only a guess, this is an eBay Chinese battery after all.

i tested it with a fully drained S3 (waited till the phone turned off by itself) and fully charge the case and installed the phone turned off
anyone else tested its capacity?
might just change the internal battery later on

Well mine is charging at the moment from 4%, currently at 16% and still going strong, I'll report back with results when either the phone reaches 100% or the battery case dies trying.
Edit: could be some time though, the battery case output is only 500mah!

First review; try not to bash/flame too badly.
I got the extended batttery with a white back plate(comes with battery) from Hyperion.
The product shipped and was delivered on time (in the mailbox; not UPS or door delivery).
The battery comes with a little pamplet that tells you how to effecitvely use the battery by completely charging and discharging the battery several times.
All in all I am very happy with this product. They battery life lasts me approx. 30 hours with reasonable usage (bluetooth media streaming, constant texting, occasional phone calls, and overall playing in general) after 3/4 charge cycles. The back plate is practically seamless and does not look aftermarket.
The ONLY problem I have had with this product is the back plate has a few stress fractures from removing/replacing it so much. there is also a pretty large crack that extends from the charge port upwards. I reoprted this to Hyperion via email seconds after it happened and they replied within five minutes to notify me that my new (and FREE) replacement back was on it's way and that I did not need to send back the old case.
I now realize that if you are particular about how you take it off (slowly peel it off around the edges, in a circle, rather than lifting one end and just pulling up and away) you can preserve the latches.
[EDIT]Now that I've had this battery for awhile I have, unfortunately, stumbled upon a deal-breaker. The thickness of the battery of course means a bigger back plate. Hyperion made the camera, flash, and speaker slots quite deep because of this and as a result; the flash doesn't diffuze quite right, sound is (very mildly) effected, and last but definitely the worst: in the right lighting, the back plate creates a "haze" effect around some pictures.
When I was doing initial research into this bad boy I remember seeing an extended battery that did away with the thickness near the camera, speaker, and light that should preserve the aforementioned features. I hope this saves somebody a few buck and a bit of frusteration![EDIT]
Just a quick question - why are you needing to remove the backplate so much? I'm hoping it's not to charge the phone.
I should be getting my battery and cover today!

Mostly just for soft resets to troubleshoot various problems, especially Wireless Tether for Root Users. Doesn't play nice with CM10 -- M2. lol
Nice, I was so excited to get mine and completely forget about charging throughout the day, it's the best investment I've made!!

With hyperion 4200, it needs to be charged fir 12hrs. For first time. Then afterwards go through 3-5 full cyckes for optimal results. But I can say even on first charge battery life is great. Im about to be on my 3rd. Cycle. I unplugged my phone yesterday at 6a.m.(worked overtime). Havent plugged it back up since. Battery showing over 28hrs. Of moderste use and I still have 70% battery left. No power savings tricks either. Running max power with auto brightness.
Follow instructions for battery for best results. It comes with battery. This battery is performing great for me so far. I highly recommend it. Back vover fits well also.

Well the thickness of the battery itself is no more than 1/4 an inch, maybe more. The thickness of the phone however, with the back plate on, is around about double the original thickness with the stock battery/back plate. I'd put it close to 1/2 an inch.
My ? Is when I first get my battery do I just run it till I get to 5% before I do the charge cycle
And what the proper way to insure I don't kill a cell

Thanks for a good review.
Purchased in 2014. Battery works perfectly. Tablet is not warm at all while operating.
Took back panel off. Battery casing seems a little baggy like filled with air. Is this normal?
Anyone have back panel bulging slightly?
It could be the battery bulging, I have seen phone battery`s swell and push the back off the phone, you need to be careful keep it somewhere fireproof.
Lots of video`s on youtube on how to replace the T800 battery if you want to do it yourself.
The battery can cost from anywhere between $10-60 dollars for a cheap ebay battery to an more reliable M99.com battery.
John.
I would like to bypass the battery altogether if possible? Its used for watching movies on that beautiful screen with the perfect aspect ratio.
Well the back panel is off. Hope they didn't glue the battery in.
Thanks for the info.

The battery is not stuck in as far as i know, be careful with the battery connector, Lots of problem on the T700 and some T800 are caused by a bad connection, like flickering of the screen or jumps in battery capacity.
I bought a spare battery for my T800 over a year ago just in case mine went bad, So far it`s over 27 months old and no problems fingers crossed, so the spare still has not been used.
John.
I barely used the battery all these years. My battery has about
40 cycles used. Perhaps leaving it plugged in at 100% charged
while in use all the time without cycling the battery enough, may have wrecked it. Could also be the age of the battery.
Even if you don't use it, the chemicals degrade. The battery
needs to be kept cold, dry and periodically charged.
they don't make t800 batteries for probably a few years now.
they are most likely old stock and nobody know's the temperature or environment they are stored in.
After testing all day yesterday, the battery still works like new.
just the ever so slite gas swelling that worries me although the battery casing still has lots of room to expand, it's still quite loose. I will replace it If the swelling increases. will be storing this thing when away and at night in a ouside, concrete enclosure. The next battery I get will be exercised monthly.
You live and learn! haha
Thanks for your help John
