Hi!
I have been searching an answer for this but haven´t found anything. I would like to sync my Contacts, Calendar and Tasks betwen my phone, google account and exchange server.
For example, if i add a contact or event to my phone´s calendar/contacts i would like it to automaticly sync to my exchange server account and also my google account.
Is it possible ? If yes, how ?
I have both accounts on my phone but when i create an event i have to choose were to sync.
Also i would like that the contacts and events i currently have on my phone were synced to exchange.
Hi Guys,
i've got DZ from Santa. I have question about sync between people and calendar apps. I've imported contacts using MyPhoneExplorer. When i start adding birthdays found out birthdays don't go to the calendar automatically, like my UIQ3 SEW960 or even my [email protected] So is there way to sync these apps, or calendar app on the market that can import info from people app?
If you open up your google account online, you can access the Caldendar or Contacts and add and remove information as you wish. Then it will sync with a phone connected to that same account.
I'm using CyanogenMod 7.1.0-RC1-buzz. i use an Exchange email/account for my work and gmail for personal. I can see fine the Gmail side of things but the Exchange calendar doesn't show up in the settings so I can't see any events from that account. Also in the Account & sync settings it does not display my exchange account under Manage accounts.
Anyone help me out?

Maybe I can help.
From your PC or normal internet you need to log into your Google account and link your exchange Calender etc etc to your Google account and then from your phone you will be able to choose which accounts to sync/show. I can't give great detail as it was a long time ago I had to do this but for Facebook Calender sync so can't recall exactly what the process is. Hope it helps though? Regards Slymobi.

Thanks for the tip, but that method I'll have to export my Exchange cal and then import it into Gmail - that way I won't be able to edit my events with have to redo the export from exchange etc etc.
Cheers anyway

i wanted to know if when i sync my google account to joi market place, if i also have to put my active exchange sync to my gmail account also. ive had it like this on my HOX since i got it but now i noticed that in contacts under edit options, contacts appear to have the same info for exchange and sync. so i checked and saw exchange syncs mail contacts calendar tasks, as does google sync.
so i was wondering if i could just disable exchange and stay with a google sync and have other accounts like hotmail linked to hotmail account and ignore active sync
ty in advance
Call me paranoid, but I don't like the idea of keeping my appointments in the cloud.
The problem is, the stock HTC calendar reduces available options when I'm switching from a Google account to either the phone (i.e. HTC Sync) or local account.
Does anyone have any experience with the Google calendar app and local accounts? Is it possible to use it without syncing with Google? Is there any other decent calendar app that would work with a completely local account, with an occasional backup to either SD card or PC?
You can turn off synchronization for Google Calendar under settings.

Somehow on my phone this setting has no effect and Google keeps syncing the calendar.
And then I'm using several gmail accounts, so the events get scattered between different "accounts". I have no idea why a simple list of appointments has to be associated with any kind account.
I don't think you are doing it right when you turned off the calendar sync. Anyway, there is an app called Offline Calendar. Perhaps you could give it a try.
I know this app. It creates a local (offline) calendar, but does not do anything else, you have to use this local calendar as an "account" in some other calendar app, like the stock HTC calendar.
As to turning off sync, I don't think you can do it "wrong". You just go into Google account settings, tap on an account (if you have more than one, like I do) and then there are sync settings, you can choose whether to sync gmail, contacts, calendar, apps, etc. I uncheck all of the boxes except for gmail, since this is the only thing I need to be synced - otherwise I will not be able to read email and that's the whole point of having a Google account. In any case, the calendar sync setting is off and still the HTC calendar app syncs every time I add an event to a calendar associated with a Google account.
Two ideas to try:
1. Use Google calendar with sync turned off. See if it still syncs new event.
2. Stay with HTC calendar and use the offline new account created by that app. Add new event to the offline account.
Try a calendar on the play store that has no sync function........ Or, don't worry. Everyone syncs... If there were security issues, it would be reported all over.
I doubt Google will show up at an event you have scheduled and mug you. ?
