I have S-OFF nad unlocked phone I've tried to put latest CWM on ma phone and I get it flashed OK and when I try to boot to recovery all I get is black screen. H bot is version 1.36 and boot image was flashed from ARHD 17.1. Any idea why recovery won't boot?
which version of cwm did you flashed?
CWM touch 5.8.4.0
Now I noticed that even phone won't boot normally in OS. I tried with stock RUU 3.14 Europe and update wen't through successfully. If this has something to do with recovery not booting.
Go to fastboot and try
Code:
fastboot erase cache
Erasing cache didn't help. Now I got it to work again. I've downgraded to RUU 2.17 and then flased CWM and got it to work again. It looks like there was a problem between JB RUU and CWM.

hey everyone, i have an sim free desire HD that was rooted and s-off and has been running like that for a while. recently i tried to access clockwork mod to try and flash a new rom but when i did so the recovery does not load. Its just stuck on the htc splash screen, it doesnt even say quietly brilliant. The phone still works but i cannot access recovery. I tried the following procedure in fastboot to re flash the recovery
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recoveryCWM.img
fastboot reboot
after doing this it still has not worked. Any suggestions or a certain fix would be brilliant.
Thanks
You can put the PD98IMG.zip from my downgrade post to your SD card and reboot to bootloader, it will flash you the 1.32 stock ROM and you can start from a clean table.
use an older version of recovery

I had the same problem, with clockwork 3.0.0.6 ... I then flashed 3.0.0.5 (see the bottom of the Rom manager Menu that proposes you to use former recovery roms). I could solve my problem that way.
Please Help me, I don't know what to do anymore...
Phone is unlocked!
I wanted to install Stock Rom and downloaded RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.3_Radio_47.23c.35.3037_7.54.39.28M_release_236989_signed.exe from shipped roms, I extracted rom.zip and flashed system.img and boot.img in fastboot.
And now Phone only starts in CWM and won't boot... If I flash Ruu I will lose Unlocked bootloader I think?
Tried flasing sensemod rom but also didn't boot...
Please help :-(
Can I load batterie when phone is off or do I nee strock recovery?
CWM shows:
"E:Invalid command argument"
How can I get latest stock rom
PS: I'm downloading RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.3_Radio_47.23c.35.3037...exe from filefacotry at the moment but I'm not sure if I can flash (original branding was t-mobile germany)
EDIT:
OH MY GOD , I don't know why but I reflashed system.img and boot.img , wiped everything (dalvik, cache, data) and pulled out battery. After doing that phone boots normaly...
SORRY for making trouble but this isn't my phone!
I have shown how to fix that in my tutorial (link is in my sig)
flashing ruu wont loose your unlock. (and its obtainable again.) Just flash the ruu and report back
Thanks for your help!
The trick was pulling out the battery after flashing, after that the phone booted normally.
I flashed System.img and boot.img from latest ruu via fastboot!
IF it won't work after that try advanced -> "reboot recovery" and after that normal reboot
i had maximus 8.0 on my HTC One X and for some unknown reason i couldn't connect my phone in usb storage mode. then i had put it in CWM recovery mode and put the android revolution hd and superwipe zips into sd card. then i manually flashed boot.img and thru recovery performed superwipe. all went well. but when i tried to install the custom ROM it just didn't start. i rebooted system, performed wipe once again and got same issue, after that my CWM recovery went off and when i was trying to go to recovery i just got bootloop.
Does anyone have any idea what can be done???
P.S. my HBOOT ver is 1.31
Try fastboot erase cache
Also, if that doesn't work, check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609190

Reflash the recovery, flash the rom's boot.img and flash the rom
After flashing the latest ICJ 2.5.1 I suddenly cannot boot to recovery. I've never had this problem before. The rom itself works good, so does the bootloader. Though everytime I try to boot into recovery it flashes the CWM- or TWRP-screen for a short while and then just reboots itself.
I've obviously tried to flash both CWM and TWRP but the results are the same. The flashing seems to work, but when trying to boot into recovery just makes it reboot iself.
Any ideas?
ICJ 2.5.1
TWRP 2.4.3.0 and 2.4.0.0
CWM 5.8.4.0
hboot 1.39
Thanks in advance.
Try from the bootloader
Fastboot erase cache
Try again to enter

Wow, I can't believe it was this simple. From now on I'll always use the fastboot erase cache, not only when flashing boot.img's.
Thank you for your fast respone, I really do appreciate it!
I successfully flashed cyanogenmod 11x last night. I followed the steps and everything works great! The phone boots fine, all features work ok. I had a slight issue of it hanging on the CM logo, but I powered down, booted to hboot > factory reset, and it booted up fine the second time.
Strangely, I don't seem to be able to get into recovery any more? if I go into hboot > recovery it just boots CM. I tried flashing the recovery again using fastboot, as I did when first installing CM, but it still doesn't work. Next I installed Rom Manager, installed the latest CWM, and rebooting into it from there - Still doesn't work.
Any suggestions?
I had the same problem i was flashing the boot.img in the recovery partition. Fastboot flash recovery [recovery.img]
Fastboot flash boot [boot.img]
