SlimBean or LiquidSmooth? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I'm currently running on SlimBean 3.0 and have been for a couple weeks. It's a good ROM but I'd definitely prefer one that doesn't drain battery so fast. I've read about LiquidSmooth and think it's fairly good but I'm not very much of a flashoholic (I try to at give each ROM I flash at least a month). Would anyone recommend one over the other? If so, why?
I feel like I just made this a test with that one last question, haha.

I'm on Slimbean, first rom and only rom I've used since I got my SGSII about two weeks ago. Battery life is amazing, you should probably try a different kernal or lower the max CPU speed to 1.2 instead of 1.5

I'm running slimbean 3.0 and I love it but not to happy with the battery life. I'm new to the whole rooting world and I'll be looking for some kernels that'll fix this issue. Over all a badass ROM.

Another great find..

So I was exploring the att GS3 section again. Looking at different roms. I came across one called Ariel that seemed to have all the feature I love to have(long press volume to skip track with screen off, center clock, selectable toggles). So I flashed it. Wow. Very impressed. I haven't had any issues with it at all, it's smooth and everything seems to work.

Thanks for the tip. But I'm running that right now. If you've actually had MIUI on your phone you'll know the launcher is only a small part of the MIUI experience.
These things take time. So, for now, we do not have MIUI, or any AOSP ROM for that matter.

I actually check it every day hoping to see something new. There are two roms in there, both of which haven't been updated in over a month. I'm not complaining and I'm not holding it against the devs, I know they have lives and they aren't getting paid to do this. In the mean time I'm dealing with bugs from LG's poor coding. But I'm just saying, this phone has been out since November and things aren't exactly poppin.

Lol, I love how all these noobs come here and think they're experts caused they rooted their own device then wanna talk about our development section. Little do they know all the work that's being done behind the scenes since we now have source. I am just curious to know, do they really want a sh*t load of ICS roms? I'd rather wait for a few quality JB ROMs rather than have a lot of ICS roms that do NOTHING to release this beast of a phones potential.

I'd love to have MIUI as well. Fell in love with it on the GNexus, maybe even the Photon.
Anyways, we just have to give them time. (I know its hard..)
And to "where's your ROM?"
I'm sure you know as well as I do its not an overnight study session to learn any programming language. C isn't easy, neither is Java.
This phone or ROM isn't exactly developer friendly yet either.

Can't believe how poor battery life is on KitKat. It's supposed to be much better! This is my second ROM Omni, same as AOKP.

I also have similar **** battery usage experience with both those ROMs also. Hopefully it will improve.

Where did you find dn3 ROM? Battery life is awesome. I switched to Jedi x2 and it's even worse...

Happened to me too. Full wipe Flash the rom but don't check factory reset in aroma then flash modem and reboot. I didn't flash devil kernel cause it gave me problems

What made a diff is PhilZ recovery. ROM, tmo modem, reboot, no WiFi. Install devil's 2 kernel all is fine. But even before I restored my apps battery was so-so. After restore TB - stuck @ Samsung boot logo., Jedix2 or 4.4 now.

Sorry it didn't work out. lts a very nice rom. Took me about 10 tries before it worked

Eventually it did. Your persistence was my inspiration. This time I used twrp .1 instead of .2. Rom, modem - reboot to rec. Used devil not latest but second latest dual. TB to restore. What didn't work was attempt to install tiny OTA update - perhaps this was the culprit. All good now great Rom. Battery is indeed much better.

@ciphercodes what rom/kernel are you running?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk
Stock 4.3 with devil kernel, on 4.1.2 bootloader.
Manually debloated, hibernated few apps using greenify and I have turned off the media scanner. I use root media scanner app to enable it when needed.
