[Q] Downgrade from ICS to Froyo - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Evo 4g is is currently running ICS.
I want to use it with HdmWln and the only option for it I think is to downgrade it to use Froyo or Gingerbread.
Can anyone help?
Not sure how to do that and what to download.

Look for myn's warm 2.2 ROM

But how do I do it?
Do I just install the rom and that's it?
Can you please send me a link to the discussion list I couldn't find it

Just flash this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...LS 5 - 01/07/2011] - More Than Meets The Eye!

I very much doubt you here anything. Maybe you hear something?
What shows up in ROM Manager is up to a ROM's developers And in the case of MIUI, the sticky message on forums.miui-dev.com which announces the new release requests: "PLEASE do not post direct links to the download or mirrors on other sites. I am trying to keep track of as much information as possible. Thanks!".
So go to MIUI-dev.com to get that site's fruits.
Installs with cwm 3, runs awesome with chads newest!

[Q] Gtalk for eh17 hurricane rom not working?

I hve google talk version 1.3 installed and everytime I open it, I get a force close.
Any tips to get this working?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I posted a working version, if the Hurricane rom is based on Crawjr's deodexed version, then be sure to have a flashable su in case it breaks root, its a side-effect on his deodexed version, not the gtalk app.

Thanks for the response, I will read over it and try it out. If it does not work I will give the urban vendetta ROM a try.

Be sure to go to system/app and delete the gtalk app you have with root explorer before you flash, so you won't have two.

[Q]where do i download the old market apk

I just installed the new 2.3.6 and it only has the new market and cannot stand it. where can i get the old market apk so i can delete this one and run the old one only?
thank and yes i did search but could not find info on it. thanks again
What market version did the update give you?
I have 3.3.11 and 3.1.5 ...
the OP does not want the newest, he wants the OLD version of market without all the fancy slow stuff
IMO, you should be able to pull it off any old CM7 or CM6 ROM zip
and ADB push it to the phone, or use root browser to move the file there ../../App/..
Click on settings/manage applications/market/uninstall updates. You should be back to stock.

you should try clearing cache and data for the browser. Mine is super smooth even on a website full of flash.
Done that. It was working fine before the update that added the wifi calling.

How did you update? What update did you use? The deodexed roms of the updates have browser issues.

Use this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391174
[STOCK] [ROM] T989UVKL1 [09.12.2011][Android 2.3.6] Tmobile
Its odex version and flashed through odin. Very easy to do and in the same link one of those post has a flashable superuser zip file. Flash stock then cwm recovery then superuser for root. If superuser aborts keep trying to flash. It kept happening to me until the third flash

The deoxed version is having issues with the browsers lagging real bad to clear it up I had to use odin and flash the md5 update found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391174 also member named mikeyinid posted a flashable odexed zip for cwm on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...391174&page=17 post #168 but you will have to upgrade the baseband yourself with this zip.. If you use odin to flash the md5 update file you will have to reapply root again

Hey guys please help me with this!

I have had my EVO forever and I finally upgraded to S3 but I want to sell my Evo 4g but not sure if the girl buying it can get it activated with root and jellybean rom. Sprint will not activate rooted/romed phone will they? I have been reading and reading but too much info to decipher on forums and would like to at least get it back to a OTA update rooted or not. If I wanted to or had to for activation go back to stock what would I need to do since I have H.Boot 2.10 and s-off? I know you guys are going to give me the go search quote but I have and I can't get exactly what I need to do and the sale goes down tomorrow so time is limited. Please give me a hand with this because I have been flashing for awhile so I am not a Rom rookie but never tried going back just ahead to newer Roms! Thanks!
You need to search for a 4.67 RUU and run it. That'll put it to stock.

Or just flash this stock rooted rom. Shouldn't have any problems activating the phone with this rom.
