[Themed App] ICS Themed Gmail Application! (For Stock & Custom ROMs)

Ok guys so here it is, after a lot of trying to figure things out and a lot of testing, I think I've got a perfect gmail app. I have to give credit to fatsix, B-boy, and MM for their work on this apk. I have taken what they started and continued the modding. If you notice anything off let me know and I'll try to fix it. Although, my knowledge is still rather limited compared to some others on here. In any case, the screen shots are below (sorry in advance for blacking out most of my info):

INSTRUCTIONS:
If you are running a custom ROM, install the .zip below in CWM then reboot. Once rebooted the gmail app will force close, so simply go to your apps list and delete data and it should work fine!
As always, I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone and make sure you make a back up!
If you like what you see, then please use the thanks button, then just flash this .zip in CWM and you should be good to go!

This is strange. I'm running on a stock rooted LTE 4.0.2 build and it works with no errors. Perhaps someone with more experience can shed some more light as to what the issue may be? I'm wondering if one of you guys give me your framework-res.apk and then I decompile and recompile the app using your framework if it will work? Can some of the more experienced xda-ers shed some light on this?

Now i see ure app is not odexed but our Roms are so we need odexed apps i think

it needs to be deodexed since it relies on aspects of framework. Did you start with a deodexed apk?

Download a rom, extract it, go to /system/app/gmail.apk
Adb push it to your system/app folder on your phone

If you have a ROM zip saved on your phone just extract it from there and move it to your system/apps folder.

This is actually pretty good. Loving this Rom! Thank you so much!

I'm about to try it out. I tried using the Tablet UI manually but it would not boot. about to try it now.
Edit: So far, its great! Really enjoying it! i don't have an android tablet so the feel is a little different than regular CM9. One things that i would like however is to have the status bar in the top. In the bottom i accidentally press button. but that's about it. everything else is marvelous. THANK YOU and also thank you for choosing to work with our LG Phone

Now i ported Rob43's CM9 Kang rom(from here) too. If someone want, i can upload too, but usb storage no work.

i finally got to a point where i could install this and give it a whirl, it is very very slick!
[q] i always get a fc when tapping about phone in settings, so i am unable to see which cm9 v this is running, i assume it is rc1?
also, does anyone else get the fc with about phone?

this ROM is dyn-0-mite! the only fc's i get are for storage :-( and about phone.

thanks again, special for you I'm will make new version. Only you support my works.

Don't get me wrong, but the ROM is good! I liked it a lot. I also figured out how to kill those constant force closes. Well not kill but easy the process. I like the From very much. What's killing me is the bar at the bottom. It it can only be moves to the top it would be great. Its the software button and then hardware button right under. On too it would be different. I'll give it another go now for about 3 days and give my opinion. Thank you though andasa!

I managed to extract this from the latest CyanogenMod nightly...I'm currently using this on Liquid Jelly Bean RC7. I'm going to be working on an inverted version today, so we'll see where that goes.

Here's an update on the inverted CM File Manager. It's coming along nicely, but i think i hit a bump in the road....
1) That pop-up dialog will not turn black for the life of me!
2) Settings text is black and can't figure out why yet lol
These are the only two obstacles left....if ANYONE has an idea feel free to let me know lol

Can someone please confirm whether it works or not on ICS, or on versions of JB earlier than 4.1.2? My phone is on 4.1.2 and it's working like a charm but I want to confirm about ICS and earlier JB versions before I finish writing my portal post on it. Thanks.

This won't work bro....it's for Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean...not even sure if it'll work on Android 4.1.1.

That's weird. I'm running RC7 and it shows perfectly fine for me.
I have an idea why it may not be showing. I'll check and see.
UPDATE: Just fixed the issue with the inverted not showing up! I left out a crucial file....should work great now! Download and flash again...

I think most who use that disclaimer are saying that they won't troubleshoot any problems if it's flashed with anything but CWM. That's what I've been told anyway. Plus I've never run into anything that can only be flashed in one recovery and not the rest. Even if it can be done, I just couldn't see any good reason to go through that trouble anyway. Seems to me it'd be alienating a lot of potential fans.
Of course I've been wrong before, but that's just how I understand it.

That's how I took it also, but saw the person above saying nevermind so I thought they attempted and failed lol. Ya I've never heard of someone doing that to not be able to flash with a certain recovery and I've flashed a lot!!
All good, and totally forgot to try and see if it worked with Enewman's latest build and already got everything setup, so someone please try.

I'm on enewman's latest and greatest. Flashed the theme without any FC but I'm not seeing a difference? Pushed the messaging apk and it's a nice change from the norm. There are some new bubbles and backgrounds to choose from. I pushed the phone apk also resulting in my T999 showing no signal so I just replaced it with the stock and everything went back to normal.
Thanks for sharing... I'll have to see if I have better luck on another ROM.

Does the theme have to be installed first? I ask because I pushed the contact and phone apks but they did not work.

Just flashed [ROM][4.4.2] HellFire™KITKAT 2.8 and now this to my card. I use as DD my S4 stock for now. So my S3 is my rooted monster and test w/WiFi only. Good for me however bad for when everyone is asking about data. Your HF is the only 4.4.2 that camera worked is great because I can only use the camera in the field so it and WiFi are all I need working. I'm going to run HF today and maybe install this later either way I'll have it and glad I can still be 4.4.2.

Here is something you can do I keep a working camera apk on my SD with romtool box and if I have a bad camera I uninstall the stock build one and restore the working one it works everytime

Im making my backups... I really want PA. I'm going to do an extra clean flash. wipe internal, system, data, dalvik, cache, and use an alternate external sd card w/ only the rom gapps, supersu and tibu zips. I want NO bugs. lol. still waiting on Vanir too kinda so it works out to be patient.

Duhhhhhh Go figure I have never thought of that..... any suggestions on a great working camera apk? I have almost everyone somewhere on my computer I should be able to find one easy. In your opinion which is smoother HK or this?

I can't really call a better or smoother ROM they all have their own thing

Its a beta so yes there are bugs like but there are work arounds if your looking for a dd replace camera with the one I posted OR try Hellfire 2.8 or Gummy

I love this ROM! I had the best battery life and signal connection I've had in a long time today. My only con is the Bluetooth. It won't turn on for me. Is there a work around for this. I just tried it on Hellfire too, and couldn't get my BT media to connect to anything. Only the phone part would connect then cycle on and off. I'm going to try Gummy next, but I want to come back to this if I can have my BT again
