Hi,
Really annoyed that Google Wallet isn't supported. I want to enable it, but I don't want to root the device.
Are there any solutions available that allow you to enable Google Wallet without rooting the device or having to format it?
I did some searching but didn't find a concrete answer.
Thanks.
You have to root your phone to get Google Wallet. The method I linked below will not delete any data on your phone or format anything. You can unroot your phone after installing Google Wallet if you want to.
Root your phone using CF-Auto-Root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956180
Your phone now knows that you've messed with it. So, reset your flash counter so it looks like you've never installed anything custom on your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
Now use the Google Wallet Enabler here to install Google Wallet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2037416
The app SuperSU (which is automatically installed when using CF-Auto-Root) has a handy unroot option built in. Go ahead and click that to unroot your phone. More info on that here: http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2012/06/how-to-easily-unroot-any-android-phone.html

So my phone was just pinged for the latest Sprint Gnex update that will unfortunately remove local search. With that, I have a couple questions.
1. Is there a way to get rid of the reminder notifications to update the phone? Ideally, I'd like to ignore it and keep local search.
2. I am currently rooted. If I update, will that unroot my phone? I am still running stock ICS.
For root puposes download and install Supercurio's RootKeeper app on Play store and back up your root access. Even if the update wipes out your root access this will easily restore it
Hi,
This is a great site.
I am doing this cause I deleted some photos by accident and want to use one single program that needs the phone to be rooted. Because there is no mass storage connectivity you know how it goes.
I used Odin3 to install "CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5" to my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with Android 4.3.
Odin says "PASS!". When I try to start the SuperSU (version 2.01, was installed by Odin and CANT BE UPDATED in the play store, not even removed only opened form play store. This was the most common fix that people are giving to this situation, but it does not work for me because there is no update possibility) Because KNOX says unauthorized attempt to access not accessible areas. SuperSU does not prompt the possibility to terminate KNOX like some people are advising to do, even tough the 2.01 version of SuperSU should be able to do this. Even the RootChecker says that my phone is not rooted.
So my assumption is that the Root has not worked on my phone even tough Odin says so. So I want to try some other approach to root this phone. I just would like to know should I do some check for what Odin HAS changed in my phone and to try to change them back so I can for example try Kingos root safely.
So the questions are:
Does some one have a possible fix to my problem without me having to re root?
How can and what should I check before trying another root?
If I have to go back with stuff that Odin did, without it doing the root properly how can I do that?
And one a bit different question:
If I factory reset my phone it will install the 4.1 I thin on it, has no KNOX, will it write that on the part that is empty and might include that data of my deleted pictures or does it write it on the area that has the previous data of the Android system?
Thanks for advance if there is any advises.
Partial answer:
I followed basicly this instruction,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991
just needed to find the correct TWRP for my phone and used the older 1.65 SuperSU, there is something wrong with the 2.01 and it compatibility with my phone.
This video also helped cause the information was similar to the one in the link.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQAkLgXjnCo
Installed the DiskDigger and got most of the photos, so now I need to find out how to convert it from root version to version so I can upgrade my phone.
Everything is really easy with Odin. If the packet that I installed with it first that does't istall the custom recovery system would have had some other KNOX combatible version of SuperSU I think it would have worked. No I just needed to use the KNOX remover to remove it from my phone.
Thanks for the form all the answers where her and it just took me some time.
I have tried to follow the instructions for the Kindle Fire but that is not working and I have not found a thread that specifically gives directions on how to install and make the google play store work on this device.
I have downgraded my software and rooted my phone so that step is done.
I have attempted to follow the directions in downloading and using ES File.
I have downloaded many versions of the play store and play services but all seem to crash or give errors at some point. Please help!!!
I need google play!!

You gotta downgrade to 3.5.0 first then factory reset, then download towel root and root the phone, install SU, disable OTA, then Xposed...
Disable OTA is not necessary when installing xposed with hdxposed

Would you happen to know where to get specific directions for the above? I've done the UNLOCKED fire phones (that was easy to install Google Apps), but I bought 1 used Fire Phone that was locked to AT&T and has 3.6.5 and the procedure I'm used to just doesn't work (constant gapps crashing).
Also, I did SIM unlock this phone...can i update it to 3.6.8 or is it stuck on 3.6.5 regardless?
Thanks!

After I downgraded I had apps crashing to, to fix that you will have to do a factory reset, since the reset I have had no crashes. Every thing I have read says do not upgrade if you want root access, but you can downgrade and root anything up to 3.6.8, my even include 3.6.8 but to a search to make sure, root is on 3.5.0 and after root you can not upgrade and keep root..

I didn't downgrade. It was my understanding the AT&T locked phones are at 3.6.5 and unlocked are at 3.6.8 and the two are not compatible (you can't upgrade a locked phone to 3.6.8).
I'm not interested in rooting, but just want the simple GAPPS install experience I had with my unlocked 3.6.8 phone.
By factory reset, you mean wipe it?
I need help with getting Android Pay to work on my rooted Note 4 because I keep getting the Android Pay cannot be used message. I do know that Android Pay does does block rooted users so I've tried various workarounds with none of them working.
I tried the method where I installed Root Cloak and added Android Pay, Google Play Service and Google Service Framework to apps it hides root from and cleared the data from those 3 apps. I also installed No Device Check since from what I saw, Android Pay does use SafetyNet to check your devices firmware whether it has been modified or not. Does anybody have any ideas of how to get this to work without losing root access or having to go back to stock?

I disabled supersu and was able to add my credit cards however when i go to use it for example at a vending machine at school i get a message that says something like, Amex**** is unable to be used at this time and the same goes for my discover.
any ideas how to fix?

I want to be able to use android pay on my LG G4, but I am currently rooted which doesn't play nice with AP. I want to know if there is a way to fully remove root and all traces of root without a factory reset or flashing a fresh new system on my phone. I know supersu has the "full unroot" option, but I wasnt sure if that would actually make it pass the SafteyNet test, since I do have some modifications on my device. Thanks in advance for any help/feedback.
For Google Play, you need to use the Root Cloak2 Xposed module and block both Android Pay and Google Play Services and Android Pay will work fine.
