Two choices, find CM in cyanogenmod.com and find the latest stable version, which I think is 7.2 or in the development section of,this forum some unofficial updates (ics and jelly bean)

Hi Everyone!.. New to XDA and it's really helpful.
However, I am unable to find the answer to my query...
I have a HTC Wildfire S. Great phone don't get me wrong. I updated the software to 2.3.5 and I've hated it ever since Everyone moans about the "lock screen" but I don't have a problem with that. It's the fact it's slower and I am unable to root it.
Hence my question.. can you downgrade a WFS to 2.3.3 from 2.3.5?
All help would be appreciated
Yes, you can.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445867
you can do it , but also you can root it ! since you have an unlocked bootloader or s-off you can get permanent root using superoneclick , and flash custom recoveries and others !
downgrade from 2.3.5 to 2.3.3
hello i wanna know the procedure to downgrade my htc wildfire s.I also wanna know that will downgrading help in removing the "RELOCK" status of my phone to "LOCKED" for warranty purpose
. PLease help me I want my warranty
Guess what? It's old thread bump time!
My father wants to take my old Wildfire S (GSM) as I don't need it anymore ('updated' to Nexus 4). However I had CM7 on it and he disliked it for being different than Sense he knew from his Desire Z. I installed custom Sense 3.5 but he didn't fancy it either.
I can go back to stock 2.3.5 Android as I have it in my CWM backup folder in PC, but I know it will work similar to what I have now, that's why I need a tutorial how to go back to stock 2.3.3.
TL;DR - I must flash stock 2.3.3 on GSM Marvel.
Thanks in advance

You would need root permissions to do something like that AFAIK. Why can't you root your device?

OK to answer your question, no you cant not run Android from your SD card like you can on the HD2. Read the whole thread on the ace hack kit and it will root, and unlock your device so you can flash custom roms.
You can multi-boot with Boot Manager Pro in the Google Play Store. Works much the same way as what you're asking for.

If it doesn't work on a Windows PC, use a Ubuntu (Linux) bootable cd instead (worked for me).

You will lose the data in the phone...the sdcard is not touched at all.
When i first rooted mine over a year ago, i used the Ultimate Multi Tool.

For backing up my contacts and sms messages and transferring from one rom to another, I use MyPhoneExplorer (found on the market), so far not had any issues using this.

Hey there, i'm on the same "level" as the topic creator and yes, i've been reading around + reading the AAHK manual a couple of times now and well, i think im ready to use it. There is just one thing that bugs me, and that is the downgrading. I understand the downgrading itself, but im just unsure about the whole; "Was my DHD shipped with Froyo or Gingerbread and what does this mean and how do i check it etc etc" :/
I really hope someone can help me with this
Thanks in advance!

HTC Desire HD Success root using One Click Root
I want to share that if anyone wants to root HTC Desire (DHD) A9191 Gingerbread 2.3.5 ---> One Click Root 3.7 works well.
1. Used Windows 7 32 bit (because HTC drivers did not work in Windows 10)
2. I unlocked the bootloader as intructed in htcdev.com/bootloader/
3. Downloaded one click root from sendspace.com/file/ylqkve

The first thing you have to do is to root your device with advanced ace hack kit (search in google), then you can flash custom ROMs. Be careful using the aahk, you must follow the instructions attentively.

Though risky, the benefits is worth it. Jellytime FTW!
There is no stablest jb. Yet who knows maybe it will be soon
Jellytime is the best until yet.
JellyTime is good but I prefer the AOKP Nightlies. Now that BT is fixed it is my new daily driver!
