After some study, it seems PrimoU kiss kernel started to support USB Host one month ago, but I have a PrimoC HOV, any kernel also supports USB Host for it?
Apparent no PrimoC with USB Host for HTC One V

I can find no trace of one either. It seems that special effort with kernel modules are needed too.

Thanks. Do you have references to the procedure to install those, especially which drivers and how to install them? Having bricked my old Buffalo router trying to set it up as a dedicated DNS sever by using what appeared to an OK updated version of DD-WRT I am walking around very carefully in regards to burning new kernels into firmware. Just getting used to Busybox etc. My long term interest is to use old Android phones as specialty servers once retired from cellular use. They don't use much power and have built-in UPS capability. Ideally I would like to connect via USB Ethernet adapter. Still trying to determine if the phone could draw rather than contribute power from a powered USB hub in OTG/Host mode.

Yeah, I caught that. I almost was ready to do PrimoU flash previously because it advertised USB support and I had an article how to go about that. Then I started to notice the difference between PrimoU and PrimoC and heavens knows what other dragons await. Do not wish to get bagged on flashing two weeks in a row.

Hi. This is my first post. I'm a noob however I have rooted before (HTC Sensation XE) Several times in fact and I can quite comfortable install new firmware, roms, kernals etc to the device. However installing a Jelly Bean ROM on my HOX seems to be quite different. I'll give you my info and well you tell me what I should do next. I would like to clarify I have searched extensively and all information relating to this topic lacks something.

However all this talk about boot.img and whatnot has bewildered me. Any help at all is appreciated. Sorry for being such a noob.
Thanks. :good:
renovate or ARHD if i where you and flash the boot.img with your rom with this command 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
then 'fastboot erase cache' then flash the rom thru recovery and you r done

At the moment we do not have S-OFF which means we can't flash boot directly from recovery. You need to flash it using PC from fastboot.
Basically you do that by extracting boot.img from [insertromnamehere].zip to fastboot folder and flashing it from there using
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
I've attached fastboot if you're unsure of your's location.
Then install ROM in recovery using the install zip from sdcard option and finally wipe dalvik-cache, cache and battery stats in recovery
For choosing a ROM check this:

May I suggest the Android Revolution HD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334
Video for slightly older tutorial is in the ARHD post above.
Process I used on my Mac (for win ignore step 3 and for step 5 choose the bat file, linux choose appropriate files in 3,5)
1. Move Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_17.0.zip to root of SD card
2. Unzip Flash_boot_17.x_0.1.rar
3. chmod 755 the mac scripts install-boot-mac and fastboot/fastbook-mac in the Flash_boot unzipped dir
4. Put phone in Fastbook USB mode
5. Run the install-boot-mac.sh script in the Flash_boot dir to flash the boot.img file
6. Reboot from the menu and disconnect USB
7. Boot your phone in recovery mode (vol down + power)
8. In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard"
9. Select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of Android Revolution ROM
10. Use data wiping option in (AROMA) installer if if coming from stock or other custom ROM
11. Choose all needed options
12. After flashing process is complete, reboot the device
I can't really understand if you are going to update the hboot first.
You can't install any sense JB rom on hboot 1.12 !
To install JB sense roms you have to be on hboot 1.28 or higher

Hi.
My LT26 is actually on rom stock .211 (tried .96, better battery but trouble with camefa focus).
Was is a good rom for JB 4.2.2 (and what kernel with it) ?
It seems that 4.3 roms are still in testing sequence ?
Thks.
in my opinion the 4.3 rom is more stable than the 4.2.2's I've been using it daily since it's release and never any issues
Sent from my AOSP 4.3 Xperia S via Tapatalk
4.2 rom
I think... PAC rom might be want you are looking for, but I'm not sure... :-?
Different flavours...
Hello,
during the last few months, I tried several roms. If you rely on HDMI and want to have the best from your camera (but not the newest features), you should stick with modifications of the Xperia rom.
Most of the time I had SlimBean on my Xperia S, but they have for now finished the development, stopped with a (in my opinion very good) 4.2.2 stable version. For me it worked perfectly on a everyday basis, stable, fast, and with a very nice all-black interface (as most roms offer now). You can download it on their website. And here is the link to the according xda-thread. But many links on that forum thread are now dead, as the downloads have been moved to the "Old Releases" section on the website. If you want to use another kernel with it, I chose the OpenSEMC beta2 kernel, but I did not find any differences in comparison to the stock SlimBean kernel. Don't use 3.4 kernels with the 4.2.2 SlimBean Roms! SlimBean relies on 3.0 kernels, here is a discussion about this topic.
But now I wanted to have some android 4.3 running, and so far I see only two options for that:
The PAC beta1 which I have currently installed (still some issues there, but is OK for daily use and FAST), and the AOSP alpha1 which I have not tested so far.
I hope this helped you a little bit! If so -> thanks-button is waiting
RC2 kernel should be the same as slim bean hence not noticing any difference.
I'm still on aosp 4.3 and it's still consistently smooth and fast
Sent from my AOSP 4.3 Xperia S via Tapatalk
OpenSEMC beta2 with SlimBean, NOT the RC2
Hello,
as corrected by now, I made a mistake in my post above, it is the OpenSEMC beta2 kernel you need for the use with SlimBean, NOT the RC2.
In this post is an according link (second one).
Any forecast about a stock JB 4.3 launch for XS? When?
