[Q] How to remove the crappy lockscreen?

So. I got my 5th android telephone now, Galaxy S2, and i absolutely love it. I have ofcourse, rooted the phone and removed most of the crappy samsung apps as most of them just seem to drain battery.
Its almost the perfect phone for me now. There is however one thing that remains and endless anoyance for me. Was the same with S1.
How on earth do you remove that redicilous lockscreen? Or change it to something else? I dont mean changing the lockscreen picture. Just replacing it with some other lock screen. Like the one that comes with HTC Desire and so on.
Just to be clear. I know how to turn lockscreen of. But i want to CHANGE it. I hate the swipething.
5th Android phone and you haven't heard of Market?.. Widgetlocker or who knows how many other options? Maybe post questions in the Q&A section also.
Sent from my HTC Flyer using vodka
You can try "widget locker" from Market and there is also an app "Agile Lock" that makes the same Lockscreen as its in Sense 3.0 (with the Ring and shortcuts).

Don't usually jump in these, especially when I'm new to the samsung side of xda but I think your the one being a sour tard... Your the one posting questions in the themes and apps section and when he provided you an answer you insult him... smh go investigate the market and while your at it learn how to search.

Lol the OP is obviously not that experienced and he got a pretty ****ty smart ass response from the first person. However the second response was informative and helped the OP. And you sir, a jackass for bashing against someone who made a mistake of putting a thread in the wrong category

Widget locker and Agile lock(currently using) are the best alternatives to stock lockscreen. But if you like to read your facebook n rss feeds then you might want tui try out the Flyscreen which is also free. There are other apprentices as well. But these are the best ones to my concern.

Way too much *****iness on here...for starters, not everyone is a super android user like some portray to be and secondly if you cant answer properly why take a dig....you must lead pretty sad lives

A cool trick I stumbled upon.

While browsing in internet and different forums for our phones I stumbled across this video.
I looked through threads here and didn't find it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ_du-rW1Ns&feature=related
I found it cool and useful so I decided to share it with you guys.
I didn't know where to post it so I put it in general section.
If I posted this in wrong section mod please move it to where this belongs.
Holy crap, I wish I had known about this a few months ago. Great find!

At least few of us didn't know about it till now. Some good came out of this post.
Another tip. When you are in your log you can hold and slide to the right to call someone and to the left to text them. This saves a couple clicks and is pretty cool. I believe you can also call from the texting app by sliding to tthe right too.

This and the slide to call or text from log or messaging are the 2 biggest things I wish were in CM7 and CM9. I use both features all day, every day. Gotta give Sammy some credit there.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
I liked this feature so much when I had an Epic 4G that I wrote code for Cyanogenmod 7 to implement it there.
To all those that complained about Op posting his find, please try to remember when you were a nooB. It's not like this feature is posted on a Wiki or anything for everyone to browse.
-Daryel
Old Epic had it too.
Thanx for this tip though, because its little different than it was on old epic.I tried it on my new epic touch and it didnt work,i thought why would samsung take away such useful feature? But they didnt-they just made it different.
On old epic you could just slide your finger across top bar.But on epic touch you have to hold your finger on top bar for about a second before sliding. Its a little harder than it was before but prevents acidental setting.

Any chance that could be updated for the E4GT? If so I wouldn't think twice about making a permanent change to CM.

Why not just send a PM to the user and post the results back here? Its more than like a locker with widgets added, it cannot be a theme, too much there for a theme. Maybe I'm wrong...
It was posted on a website.. I forgot where I found it... it was showing top 10 lock screens. If I knew who made it then I would've asked them directly instead of posting... oh well that was one nice lock screen.. sucks we can't find the source.

Haha. I like the idea of this thread.
Hold the back button to enable multiwindow, but you have to be on the 4.1.2 update.

If you hold the back button also it will make the little handle thingie disappear, which is good because sometimes it gets in the way if left out.

I really don't like the clock/weather widget that comes with JB and would rather have the one from ICS.... How would I go about changing that?

You might be able to find the APK somewhere or extract it from an ICS rom from another device. I use Beautiful Widgets from the Play Store. There are a lot of different options and themes you might like. I enjoy having the three shortcuts directly from the "superclock" itself. Click on the weather part and it brings up the weather app, the clock brings up the clock, and the date brings up the calendar. This way it saves space on my home screen. You can also have the temperature displayed in the status bar, which I like a lot.
I have a not so stupid/stupid question.
I want to root and flash a custom rom just like I have on every other phone....But I like the Note II. I only want it to be free of all the bloatware and be a little quicker with better battery life... But I still want the complete functionality I have now, including the SPEN. Any suggestions.

Clean Rom and Jedi both offer what you are looking for. I have used both and I am currently running clean rom with great results. Over 8 hours screen time yesterday.

Or if you want to stick with the unrooted way, go into Manage Apps then disable the bloat... but yeah, CLEAN ROM and Jedi are awesome rooted alternatives to stock.

Nexus battery life?

Hey guys, I just want to ask what kind of battery life are you guys getting on your nexus? I'm about to make a switch from an epic 4g touch, and badly want to cause of stock android. Just bought an n7, and absolutely love it. Now i want it on my phone without the hassle of putting buggy roms. Any replies are welcomed.

Quick answer, it's completely subjective to your usage patterns so no one can tell you what it's like as what might be awesome for me could be crap to you
