Edit APNs on Sprint and CM 10.1 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello everyone! I'm trying to do a fix for my MMS which won't send or receive which requires editing the APNs. Unfortunately all the guides say to use Voice Dialer and say "Open APNs". However I am either blind or I don't have Voice Dialer. Is there an alternative way to get to the APN screen? It's not under Mobile networks either.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Just wanted to say I got it by grabbing Gesture Search from the Play store. I found Voice Dialer with it (although it doesn't show up in my app drawer) and that didn't work. It was stuck on starting up. So I searched for APNs and it showed up.

[Q] VZW Galaxy Nexus + Google Voice Installation

Has anyone had any trouble getting the google voice voicemail set up on the VZW galaxy nexus? Whenever i get to the voicemail section it gives me the error
"Carrier config: unfortunately your network carrier is currently not supported for automatic configuration. To use google voice as your voicemail provider, please visit google voice help center for more information".
Going to the help center has nothing on how to manually set it up.... My droid 2 had no problem setting this up automatically... am I missing something?

I've done those steps, but they didnt work. The *71, *90 and *92 also didn't work in my situation.
I eventually ended up uninstalling on the phone, and deactivating and then reactivating the vvm from the web admin panel. The *71 number worked, and then reinstalled voice on the phone. It worked after that.
It seems that the error i posted in OP is present always for verizon. Still works if you manually dial the instructed number. Not sure why....
try to have someone call you and leave a voicemail message. i've only had my nexus for a couple days but i was able to set google voice up on the first day. i got the error that it couldn't be set up the normal way but in the settings and everything it looked ok and i had someone leave me a message and everything worked like it was supposed to.
Hey I hate to bring up this old thread but Ive been troubleshooting this problem long enough so I figured I would ask here.
I'm having trouble getting google voice to work the way I want to. I set it up and it seems to work, whenever people leave me voice mails my google voice app pops up and transcribes it and gives me a notification of a new voice mail. But I cant seem to set custom voice mails for specific contacts. As a matter of fact I cant seem to change my voice mail at all...it just says my recorded name.
So I go on my computer to google voice and make changes to my voice mail greeting and these changes are not reflected in my phone. Also I call my google voice number on my phone and try to change the voice mail there but it also doesn't change it.
Sorry this is long and confusing but maybe one of you know what I'm talking about

[Q] Google Voice Issue

I always used Voice to text from my NS4G. Since switching to the Galaxy Nexus, I just don't have an option to compose texts from Voice, nor do my texts get directed there, even though the option is selected. Anyone know what to do?
So... did you switch to a non-Sprint Galaxy Nexus? Google Voice isn't integrated into your primary number like on Sprint.
Sorry, it's still on Sprint.
Try changing settings in Google voice but from your computer see if u can find a solution there. Cuz I remember when I was on sprint I didn't want Google voice to receive text msg on my ns4g so I had to change settings with my computer.

Texting is even missing from the website now, and I can't find any settings that would bring it back. I don't understand why just changing phones would completely remove a feature.
Try to disable the number from www then clear the app and redo it.

Galaxy SIII and AT&T Voicemail question

I'm trying to set up my google visual voice mail account on my galaxy s 3. When I'm trying to synchronize my visual voicemail account with at&t I keep getting error messages. I am attaching screenshots of these error messages. I have already set up the regular voice mail account through at&t, which I orignally thought was the issue . Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to do in order to get this to work properly?

I was going to start off by saying "OMG do a search" but realized that when they merged the forums, not everything made it over...
So anyways, here's my post from the old forums, with details on how to fix Google Voice:
Actually, I found a workaround I had to use with the Infuse...
Yes, you have to do the call forwarding code again: *004*[Google Voice Number]#
Then in your dialer settings, select Google Voice as your voicemail service. It will give you an option box popup which asks you to hit cancel or OK. Just hit the home button to leave the menu. When you go back in, Google Voice is selected, your Google Voice # is your voicemail number, and everything is set up properly.

When you see the "Change provider?" popup, just hit the home button. Next time you go in, you'll see GVoice is configured.
I believe I have it working now as far as forwarding voicemails, however, I thought Visual Voicemail was integrated in to the dialer now? I went in to "Settings" in Google Voice and selected to display on dialer, but I haven't seen anything yet. Is this feature not compatible with AT&T and/or the Galaxy SIII?

Fear of apple has made Samsung remove the Google search function that can search on contacts on the phone. However you can reinstall it yourself. Do a search for. 'universal Google search.'
The universal Google Voice can call and text as well as do lots of other things.
If you mean the Samsung S-Voice it can dial and text with the universal goggle search.
Also you install Google Now but again it can't directly text or call but can bring up the contact with the right app.

I have to correct myself on my last post. Google Now can do mail, phone calls and texts. I was using the wrong word or phrase. I would say text so-and-so and it would give me a list of the person's contact numbers. text or send text both work the same. It can invoke the gmail program simarly.
Saying dial or call so-and so work number makes it call out. You can also state a numeric number.
It seems to not have some rather short attention span for body of the messages and unless you can get it in to the initial search it doesn't ask you what you want to send, which S-Voice does.

To get Google voice to work you must first download it from the play store. Then run it. It will tell you that it can't change your forward numbers. The go on your browser and goto the Google voice website (make sure you hit menu and request desktop site). On the site look for settings. (Somewhere in the top right. Then choose to set up your phone. Choose your carrier and it will give you a number to call. That number will change your forwarding numbers for you. Then in the voice app change settings to show voicemail in call log.

FYI.., mine is an At&t Galaxy S3

Google Voice & AT&T JELLY BEAN

When I was using stock ICS from AT&T with my S3 the call log history on google voice would show the GV connect phone numbers in my call history instead of the phone numbers that I was calling. Can anyone with stock Jelly Bean AT&T tell me if this is still the case with AT&T JB ? This is a deal breaker for me as being able to see actual real phone numbers in the call history is a pretty basic function of the phone.
I'm on stock JB AT&T and am still seeing the GV relay numbers in the Call Log, no change from ICS.
There's a setting the JB version of Google Voice to show the Voicemail Display could that be off?
I'm looking for the apparantly missing Call settings page for forwarding the calls to GV for transcription......
Stan more than likely it will fail to forward to GV and you have to set the number manually. Also for voicemail service mine says "My Carrier" but it uses GV. No idea why, but GV works if you put it in manually.

I must have had a brain fart and forgot that Call Settings moved from the logical Network Settings menu to the sort of forgettable Dialer Settings menu in ics/jb. I really think that it should be in both.
I upgraded using the root injected version from MrRobinson and Odin, that keeps my apps and settings so that I didn't have to reconfigure Google Voice.

This is so disappointing. Do you folks think Samsung might fix their buggy ROM on Google Voice call log soon?
If not, what's the best option? I suppose just to go CM10 ? (assuming other stock ROM derivatives might also have this problem?)
If I go CM10 by following the steps listed in the CM GS3 wiki, it will be easy to unroot and relock in case warranty is needed, right? (the wiki had huge warning fonts regarding voiding warranty).
Really hope to know what route you guys take. Google Voice is my only number known to others, and I have to call using that, and the current call log is useless, and this is 2012 with a flagship android phone ....
Thanks.

You just have to configure it manually, just like the original rom. Put your Google number into the forward number settings. Even though it will say that My Carrier is the answering service, select Google at least once and Google WILL BE the answer services, and you will get messages transcription in the Google voice app. If you set Google voice to do all calls or ask you how you want to call it will bring up a dialogue box. I don't use the incoming call keypad stuff, but I assume that they would work on a incoming Google call.

GV voicemail actually worked for me, as I initially set it up by using the code provided by GV website. My concern is with the called numbers shown in the call log. They are relay numbers not my contact numbers ..... Never had this with my old Nexus One.. And I see many complaints if you search for "google voice call log numbers, galaxy s3 or galaxy note II". Some claim CM10 fixes this, but would like to get some insight into this before I void the warranty for this .... Why can't Samsung get things right out straight

I went back to CM10. AT&T Jelly Bean was awful. I couldn't get over the hideous status bar at the top with Green color and & AT&T spam. Also dialer is complete garbage if you want to use Google Voice. Everything is working for me on CM10 except I have no bass on blue tooth.

while the phone in the phone's call list IS a routing number, the calls' correct number are recorded in the GV widget's PLACED list. You have to use the new "Show All Labels" to get there.

Could you point me to the particular CM10 version you use with ATT GS3? Did you follow the CM wiki direction ? Also, I suppose the route back to stock/lock/unroot is easy in case we need warranty, right?
I don't care ICS/JB... as long as there are no known issues/lags/fcs, and GV voice mail and call log display work as they should (as with N1 in 2010 or even earlier...) --- I can't believe we have to work so hard to get that ...
Thanks!
I had to remove voicemail from my phone in the Voice settings page. Then I had to add GV voicemail back to my phone with the forwarding code via GV. Now I am working, though it seems to take a lot of rings to kick to voicemail. Like 10 or so.
According to this thread:

Some users (on Verizon?) are seeing it work correctly. This leads me to believe that some builds of 4.1.1 for the S3 may have this functioning correctly.
Some questions:
Does anyone know of any ROMs for the S3 that have the correct behavior with Google voice that work on ATT?
Can we take the dialer from the Verizon S3 and use it on an ATT S3?
Any other suggestions for resolution?

This can be made to work by using a ROM based on a canadian base:
