if you mean disable lte and connect for hsdpa then:
im on aokp and i have 2 different apns (one for h+, one for lte). so check your apns.
if you only have the lte apn try dialing *#*#4636#*#* and going into network settings and selecting another network mode.
Stupid me....I found an apn just called att and I think that will work. Thanks a lot!

Does anyone know how I can change the network? Most of the jelly bean roms don't have 4G I'm on 3G with the dragon rom. Anyway where would I go to change this? In the build prop? I know some say change modem but that has nothing to do with it. Any help would be great.

You would think it could be changed in the build. I have been looking through the build prop but just not sure if that's the right place to start or not. Has to be a way to re write it.

Change the network? It's determined by the Access Point Names and the Network Mode. If you're accessing an LTE-capable APN then as long as you're Network Mode is set to LTE/GSM/WCDMA (and your in an LTE area and have LTE provisioning on your plan of course) you're phone will access it if it's the strongest signal for you.
1 bar of LTE is way faster than HSPA+ btw

Do you have 3G or Hspa+ because on the stock roms it says you have 4G but it really isnt , it is Hspa+.

Have you actually ran a speedtest to determine your actual network speed?
I did a speed test and u get like 23mb download but that's included with my build.prop tweaks

You can Change the apn right then add z few modification to build.prop then you should have better faster network speeds in theory

So how do I set my Network Mode? My S1 (I9000) has a 'network mode' setting under 'mobile network settings'. It lets me choose between GSM, WCDMA, or both (auto). My S3 has no such setting or option. By the way, the I9000 always worked better in WCDMA Only mode.
I am on a Straight talk plan and have no access to 4G network.
Am I missing something where are 4g settings? Lol

More settings> mobile networks> network mode
Then choose combo with lte listed

Hmm. Doesn't seem to work for me.

It's not working on my either and the LTE option was already chosen.
I believe they screwed up on this, they'll probably fix this with an update.
They're setting us up. They're not gonna give it to us until the 4g lte price hike.

Funny I get 4g like no body's business. I stay connected even more so than my daughter's evo lte.
Try set to home only (sprint) under roaming. Notice my data is a whole lot stable compare to automatic.
Yeah it works...i get 4g. It connects automatically

For those of you that have good lte/ehrpd service in your area I found a little trick to turn on lte only and ehrpd only mode.
Go into ##data# select edit, select others, then select HDR/1x selection I found this out today. Sorry if in wrong thread, a good way to check if you have lte in your area try the sensorly app free on play store
I dont have HDR/1x section!?

Are you on LJC? Or LJ1
thanks...i already know I have lte in my area but we dont have ehrpd and I have been looking for a way to turn it off. on the evo lte tirning it off drastically improved 3g speeds
still playing...so far turning it off does not stick.

Have you tried going to data edit ehrpd menu then select ehrpd you should be able to turn it off like that

those playing with this note...phone calls will not work on lte only
indeed...doesnt seem to stick unless i choose cdma only. wife distracted me tho so havent seriously toyed with it.
hybrid seems to stick...ehrpd stays off and most consistant 3g connection
cdma only was garbage (.02 down and .04 up)
going to test more tomorrow from other locations.

well...so far hybrid may make a difference if there is no lte available... but my tests really have shown nothing conclusive.
for me in my area (lte) it apears to work best on the default setting.
still a cool menu to play with

After flashing a custom rom on my t999l, there is no longer an option for lte in network modes. Is there a build.prop edit that would get lte option back? Or some other way?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I think I figured it out. I changed everything in the build.prop that said T999UVUEMJC to T999LUVUMK4. Now I have the Lte option in network mode again. And it seems to be working fine.
Sent from my SGH-T999L using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You didn't have to do that though, it should connect to lte as long as it's in auto mode
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
That's what I thought too. But it wasn't.
Sent from my SGH-T999L using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It was only connecting to umts and hspa. This is the first rom that this has happened with.

What is your APN ? For TMO LTE you need different APN than us mere mortals
Switch to fast.t-mobile.com instead of epc.t-mobile.com
