Was waiting for an official thread. Will play tomorrow and I expect great things as usual !
For now I can confirm you can have normal eos toggles together with the 4.2 toggle stuff, lots of things in the EOS control center!

Toro is smooth as butter, myself I have the toro and brd has toroplus.
Currently we don't have a maguro maintainer but that shouldn't be a problem, let us know if you see anything specific issues or anything.
Have fun

Let me thnx u guys for the exceellent rom. I always look forward to using eos rom.
Running it for past 12 hrs with franco with no issues. Love eoscontrol centre.
One minor bug :: In tile/quick settings , using battery tile doesnot show actual battery status. It always show 0% with red exclamation irrespective of actual charge.
Using Maguro.

Do me a favor and uncheck then check the battery tile in eoscc and see if that clears it up, if not reboot for me and see what's up.
Thanks
I noticed it takes a second sometime to load right after its added to the tiles

Ya it happened once to me, but that was while I was testing so many different t things and it never came back so I didn't bother to dig into it much.

Hey guys. Can anyone give me an idea of the customization available? Clock and navbar and toggles customization is what I'm looking for. Also which firmware is this based on? Thanks.

Its 4.2.1
All the eos customization is there.
Set custom long press soft key colors, quick launch targets, all the good stuff.
Also plently of toggles as well as custom adjustable tile settings.
Make a nano backup and give it a run

Giving this a try, in fact I've just flashed, so what I missed immediately is the lockscreen quick pin unlock without pressing enter. Apart from that, looking good :good:

Anyone else having problem updating paid apps?
Code:
Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card
Is what I get for any paid app I have... latest gapps and latest EOS nightly. Tried different kernels but still the same problem and it's occurring in the last 2 versions.
Haven't tried other 4.2 roms so I've no idea if this is an isolated case.

If you're asking this question, I would highly recommend reading a lot more about 4.2 to save yourself some grief.
You'd see how 4.2 alters the file directory system to accommodate the multi-user feature. How cwm and twrp themselves had to be updated. And then ask yourself:
Do you really think a dirty flash is going to work?
(I think you get the drift... )

Thanks for your reply.
I was primarily asking the question to point out the instructions in the OP that only specified a full wipe when coming from ICS ROMs, which I thought was unusual.
It's those exact issues you described that have kept me from making the the jump to 4.2 prior to now.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

Not sure the jump to 4.2 is really worth it, other than to be upwardly compatible with whatever else Google will upgrade.
Multiuser? I'm the only user of this phone, so who cares?
Gesture keyboard? Meh. Swype, Slide-it, SwiftKey Flow.
Photosphere? Used it once.
Quick Settings? Any ROM worth its spit already had notification toggles. And I hate this two-finger crap so I still use Power Toggles.
Thank goodness that great devs like TeamEOS jumped aboard and made 4.2 on par with 4.1.2

I'm seeing the same thing with nightly 71 on toroplus. I thought it was kernel related but I'm experiencing it with all three kernels I've tried (Franco, Trinity and Lean). Not such a big deal since I can restore apps from a backup but I can't update them for now.
EDIT: There's a post in the toroplus forum indicating Franco's kernel is causing this which is consistent with what I installed (nightly 71 followed by Franco's kernel). Apparently flashing a new kernel doesn't solve the issue but a fresh ROM install with a non-Franco kernel appears to do so. Will give this a try as soon as my battery's charged.

Its been a while since I've used a stock rom.
However, we probably don't have as many customisable items as roms such as AOKP or CM, there is only a few of us that work on this rom afterall.
reserved for me
Menu?
One of the features I have appreciated from other AOSP-AOKP-CM9 Roms recently is the abliity to set the MENU icon(Soft Keys) so that there are four soft keys in the navigation - I tried to figure out how to make that happen with the EOS settings on this ROM and unfortunately I am either blind and can't see it or it doesn't currently exist.
Is this in the plan moving forward or will this not be something we can do?
Having said that - it seems like a great rom - very smooth - snappy - nice work!
One other quick question - the ROM Calls for downloading GAPS - 4-22-2012 - but there is a more recent version - 4-29-12 - is there some reason why you wanted us to flash that GAPPS versus the more recent one?

Yep lol. They are so quick to forget. But can't live on past glory. Gotta keep the win factory churning.
Is the compass working correctly? I already use EOS on my Xoom so I may as well run it on my Nexus .
the kernel u use what build is it # wise
before i flash, does this rom allow you to use the default slide unlock as well as a pattern/pin unlock simultaneously?
On stock its one or the other. so u lose your camera shortcut for the pattern/pin unlock.

Its straight aosp unmodified. As there are highly talented kernel devs in the gnex scene, the kernel is not a focus of our development. Personally I use Franco kernel with his paid market app.
I've done the touchstone mod and I'm having trouble charging from the pogo pin circuit. If I connect a USB cable to charge then power up the touchstone then remove the USB, it will charge from the touchstone. If I simply power up the touchstone charger it will only charge of the phone is off. It feels like a software problem. Any ideas?
Make sure to grab the latest nightly. Almost all linaro optimizations are implemented and its fast as hell. Camera and Netflix are fixed as well. We're still looking at string aliasing optimizations but its breaking prop libs atm. Let me know if anybody finds broken apps. Oh and please benchmark against some of the other crappy roms floating around.
What's the latest nightly 23?
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy Nexus CDMA using xda premium
Flashed the last est nightly i saw which was 23. It seems to be running great. Something I'd like to see is to be able to change the order of the notification Widgets. Thanks for the time and effort!

Work in Progress
Please make sure you have backups for anything you don't want to lose.
Google apps are not official, this is a community hack, we have tested all apps but you could still encounter issues.
This is still a work in progress. we are working hard to tame 4.2.2, which brought significant changes and bugs.
Do not ask about CyanogenMod features. We will continue to add more features in version 3.x, when we have a 100% stable base.
Installation
Update your recovery to the latest version. Pre 4.2 recoveries can mess up your sd card/storage. We recommend TWRP.
Download pa google apps: http://d-h.st/Do8 Updated 15-JUL-2013
Download rom: http://d-h.st/AnC Updated 18-JUL-2013
Follow PA on Google+ for changes and other info
Perform a factory reset in recovery, unless you are already on PA 2.99+
Flash ROM first, then gapps
Wipe dalvik & cache
Reboot and wait, first bootup can take up to 5 minutes, it will also restart once
Enter your Google account info, press home when you encounter the black screen
After the quirky bootup is over, the rom should work normally
Do not restore system apps, system data and Google apps. This can cause bootloops and other problems due to mismatches from CM to AOSP and Android version 4.1.2 to 4.2
Previous jellybean versions: toro
Features
Hybrid engine ported, Per App DPI and Per App Layout
Tablet UI back from the dead
Per app color
Quicksettings -> Quicktoggles (first draft, more to follow)
New recents implementation
We fixed the aosp lag in the recents view, well, most of it
New SystemUI Icons that can cope with transparent bars, thanks go to John Xionidis
See through Lockscreen is back
Transparent bars + Launcher2 modified to cope with it
4.2 Walls and Sounds
Google stock apps
Extended Desktop
PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT
This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR
ParanoidAndroid's newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

New option: "large" to trick an app thinking the device has a real big screen. some need it, like amazon kindle to jump into tabUI. some even react on it, gdrive will slightly adapt its layout - makes only sense if you give it a small dpi though.
The algorithm to extract the actual layout containers from apk files works more precise and can reveal more than before. there will still be a few apps left who do that layout stuff in java - we will add an override button for that, but in the meantime you can edit /system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf .layout=360 for phone-like UI, 600 for phablet, 720 = tablet, 1280 = super huge tablet

This is for the VZW Galaxy Nexus. I believe there is a different build for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus (which is also CDMA).
As of right now, no fix should be needed for 1.3. 1.2 only had a (simple) fix because the default DPI was set incorrectly.

Really like the rom, just wish for separate volume for notification. Also volume seems to be low. I know you are just getting started, very nice so far!!
Thanks

Yes,
Just made donation to [email protected]. (Donation does not appear as Maikai.Guy) Thanks guys for some great work! Please keep it up.
I needed the exchange to work. 4.2 seems to work really well. I played with all my important stuff and found zero issues.
Loving photosphere. Played with other apps that did this, but it didn't have the integration with my Google+ account. Now everyone/anyone can see my spheres.
Very nice, gentlemen. Latest nightly is running swimmingly. Enjoy the holiday team & take a well deserved break.

I just flashed 139... Very happy with the new changes. I came from 135. I was excited to try it with lean kernel, I have used it in the past. But wifi was very poor. Switched to tiny 2.5 and it's drastically better. I have been using his kernels with eos and loving it.. Rom has to be ready for a stable release..

Great work.....super smooth.....however still receiving "Fused Location" error every boot only on AOKP based ROMs ......any update on the cause and/or fix for this issue?

I've had everest for a couple weeks. Just waited till some of the bugs worked out. I pushed a commit trying to fix Apn Settings before the latest nightly started. Let me know if it worked.
wifi hotspot
How about the WiFi hotspot bug that any devices can't detect it? Is it fixed with the new gapps?

Not fixed yet and not a gapps issue. I talked with tdr and we think it's a permissions issue with proprietary apks.
I do not know is it bug or its my kayboard related, but i'm using kaymapper, before i figured out with keyboard layout in /system/user/...
But in terminal emulator i cant use from f1-f4 or f5 . I have moto keyboard on bluetooth . Whats can be wrong even in Generic files key surely good set... in defaults settings. exp. FN+f1 to achieve truelly f1 give me "P" ,FN+F2 / and FN+F3 R LOL ?

Ok can you please see if third party apn tools work. I need a temporary solution until I squash this thing.
Right so since the previous thread was closed, If i flash the nightly build over eos 3.0, 4.1.1 stable will i have to do a wipe?. I know about titanium backup etc, just wanted to know if i could just flash this one without having the need to wipe etc so all app would stay
Hi, I've just tried with "Offline SIM APN Database" which now produces an error

These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST 5.1.X COMPATIBLE RECOVERY.
Detailed instructions:
Going to EOS 5.1.X from another ROM:
Boot to recovery
BACKUP YOUR CURRENT SETUP!!!
Make a full wipe (Dalvik, Dalvik Cache, System, Data)
Flash the ROM
Flash optional kernel if you choose to not use provided kernel **We DO NOT support outside kernels**
Flash gapps
Reboot
Updating from an older EOS build to new EOS build:
You can usually skip the full wipe step and just wipe both caches. If ever you encounter an issue make sure you make a full wipe first before reporting it. This is what most call "Dirty Flashing". Normally this doesn't cause problems, but keep in mind a clean flash is always the best way to go.

If you guys want anything let me know. Manta has the noble assignment of being my Netflix / pRoNz device so if you guys want anything let me know. As long as Netflix and MX Player Pro still work I'm game. This device is a bit dated so don't expect any miracles. Seems the Manta boards are a bit dead so we'll try to liven things up a bit. For the most part, this build is your guys' build. I'm usually busy running the Eos project so I'm mostly focused on the platform as a whole. But if I you guys want another kernel or something I'm game. Cheers!

My xoom literally broke 2 weeks ago and I just got a nexus 10. Awesome to see this!!
Running great here! Just one bug I found: when you set the back key to hold to kill the current app (and possibly if you set the back key to hold to anything), pressing the back key normally becomes very intermittent and unreliable meaning pressing it does nothing most of the time. Restoring back to hold to nothing again fixes it.
Also, at your first opportunity, could we get a new build with the stagefright fixes and other commits from 5.1.1r9 (or is that already in)?
Much thanks!!!

I tried hard but I couldn't duplicate this issue. I haven't touched softkey navigation for some time so there is no reason for me to believe it is broke at this time. I recommend adjusting the long press time out on softkeys.

My Nav keys keep disappearing with no Nav mods like Expanded Display or Fling enabled.
Enabling then disabling Expanded Display brings them back.

Best ROM I've used in a while, its fast, smooth, has a low impact on RAM as apps tend to remain much longer and in a bigger quantity in memory than other ROMs
My device has been turning off during sleep but I believe that to be kernel related
Does this have OTA updates? The logo reminds me of the Team Exodus ROM I use on my OnePlus One. Is it similar in features?
