[Q] Unroot S3-i747 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

How can I unroot my Galaxy S3 to completely stock ROM?
Do I need just to download the latest 4.1.1JB from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625
and to flash it with Odin?

Yep, just download the stock ROM, flash with Odin. That will overwrite the custom recovery, remove root, and go back to an untainted Touchwiz stock ROM. If you have an incremented flash counter, be sure to solve it before you flash back to stock. Triangle Away can reset the counter to 0, but requries root. Flashing back to stock with Odin will not (in my experience) increment your counter. So after flashing your phone will be virgin again.

Root with Docholidays root66. Its just a rooted factory image. All you have to do is flash it in odin, then install a custom recovery, and flash a custom rom. Do not Odin your custom recovery or custom roms, because it will trip you flash counter. If you dont want to trip your counter flash then root with the latest ICS Root66 image(UVALJ4), then flash custom recovery, then flash custom roms. When going back to Stock without root, all you have to do is Odin back to stock and do a factory reset(It typically wont boot stock, if you dont factory reset). Although, I odin back to root66, use triangleaway(from the play store) to reset my flash counter, Do a factory reset, then flash stock. You can find the root66 files here

I have a question about the flash counter.

I rooted my phone without stripping the flash counter and recovery by goomanager and i checked and it was still 0.
We after i have only flash roms and newest twrp updates from goomanager. today I was trying to boot to recovery and messed up and booted to download mode. So since I was already there I went to check my flash encounter and it was set to 1. Witch it made me wonder how it got there if I havent used odin, only to root without stripping the flash encounter.
So by flashing roms etc via recovery can stripped the counter?
Not that it bothers me but just a thought
On the later stock firmwares, the bootloader was changed so that your counter will always show 1 if you are using a custom recovery.
TriangleAway will clear it, but as soon as you reboot, it will be back.
No worries.

So as long i have a custom recovery it will be 1 even after TriangleAway reset and reboot. With stock recovery it will stay at 0 right?
I know that to be the case with UVDLJC. Unsure of when that started though.
Flash counter is irrelevant.

If you ever want the counter to remain a "0" just odin flash a Tmobile Jellybean v4.1.1 stock or a stock-rooted rom.
After doing that use the triangleAway and the flash counter will remain at 0 unless
you flash a custom rom which is not based on a Tmobile T999 Jellybean v4.1.1 rom.
If you want the stock-rooted Tmobile Jellybean v4.1.1 rom here is the link: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426451
Flashing CWM or TWRP recovery has no effect on the flash counter, it will not change it one way or another.
Rooting has no effect on the flash counter either.

Indeed it is. I think I understand what he meant (not what he said). But it's still incorrect. What I said is tested and researched by me personally.

If you currently have the ll7 bootloader then simple.full wipe and flash 412 will be fine. You need triangle away to reset binary counter.

no need for triangle away or stock recovery?
Nope, flashing stock rom via Odin with flash stock recovery.

How to clean up rooted phone?

I have SGH-T889 with SU (rooted) on 4.3. How would I completely remove the rooting? Just re-flash 4.3 via ODIN?
Yes, flash stock ROM with Odin and perform a factory reset from stock recovery before booting the stock ROM for the first time.
