Screen Distortion Mimicry 1.5 - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Buds!
this my problem. I use ICS mimicry 1.5 version and Desire Z. I encountered this problem. Please help. I before flash, Full wipe.

Common bug. Just relaunch the launcher and it'll be gone. It happens in most ics rooms because I believe driver issues.

I have Lookout and its said there is no virus or something.
I think I have root but I didn't change the rom
There's just not really enough information here for anyone to help, see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297075 also if you have root you'll have an app called superuser installed.

OK, I have that app... but anyone know how to solve this problem?
I talked with someone else with WILDFIRE and he have this problem too
There could be many reasons, if you're overclocked turn it down a bit see if that helps, that's where I'd start if I was you as some phones aren't stable when overclocked.

Installing from apks from memory.

Hi, I've downloaded a couple of apps from xda and tried to install but to no joy. I get to the install screen showing permissions etc, press install and no response! Cancel works ok though lol. I have install apps from unknown sources ticked and am running 2.17.401.2 stock rom. Hope someone can help.

yep sounds like some 3rd party app causing conflict (just like 'screen adjuster' used to do before it was updated to ICS)
*try disabling a few apps see if that does the trick
Thank you guys, yep had a screen adjuster running. Stopped it and everything installs fine now. Thanks for the heads up never even thought of that.

Instagram & Android Jelly Bean

Instagram is having horrible bugs ever since I updated to Jelly bean 4.1.2, I'm currently AOKP's current ROM w/ no custom kernel. I also was having the same problem running CM10. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having problems with instagram regarding the xamera
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I'm running the same setup and I haven't had a single problem with instagram.

That's really strange, what do you think could be the problem?? Once I take a photo the picture isn't viewable because its constantly flickering in the editing stage but once I continue to write a comment for the picture its visible....

I am also having the exact same issue - I'm using CM10
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Same issues here. I've flashed clean to CM10 and still experience the flicker.
*Disabling HW Overlay in Developer Options fixes the issues temporarily.*
Same issue with AOKP
Could I just be because we are running Jelly Bean & instagram hasn't updated yet??

I was thinking the same.

What exactly does it do when I disable HW overlay??
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
"Hardware overlay ensures everyone has their own partition of memory so they don't have to do those checks and so latency to render things on the screen decreases dramatically."
Quick search on Google. I haven't noticed a difference in speed after disabling it.

Any explanation on how to disable it exactly? Googling it didn't bring more clarification unfortunately.

strange, i used INT2EXT+ with CM roms and works everytime, i even made 1 last night, completely changed everything, apps, gave it Opera browser, holo launcher, included gapps, int2ext+, made it so default theme was Crystal theme by Dark_dog.
Did u make sure there to delete any a2sd scrip in
system/etc/init.d
system/bin + xbin

I worked around this by deleting the script from rom daata2sd.zip
IMHO
I am full of praise for MILDWILD for his work on the new version, but do we need another a "stable" version of the new changes. Would not it be better to focus on the really stable version?
I thought the rom uses the partition automatically??

Same here.
Phone kept crashing after I had changed keyboard.
Had to restore backup.
Waiting for SR13
When you flashed the 4.2.2 gapps, you were supposed to delete LatinIMEGoogle.apk from the zip before flashing to avoid problems like this. It's mentioned in the third post. Open the zip, delete the file.
