Simple question about mute - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I had an epic phone before this and was cyanogen.10 when I upgraded to the s3 and never noticed this until jelly bean and then root. I am stock and just rooted last night and noticed that mute only mutes system and calls not notifications and apps. Is there a way to make mute mute everything? I dont know why rooting would cause this but it muted everything beforehand.

I have the same problem, wish someone had an answer... What I do is hit my volume button down the hit the little settings icon on the volume sider that pops up and slide everything down... It is a pain and not a real solution, just a workaround in my opinion. Mute should mute everything. LOL.

End Call Delay

When a call is ended, it takes a few seconds before it automatically closes and takes you back to home screen. My friend's T-Mobile Galaxy S III is much faster.
Setting to change this?
It would be nice to get rid of this, or if the back button made it happen instantly. I make many calls a day, 30-200 depends on business.

That's weird he probably has different apps running that are not slowing down his phone. You might have something running to slow it down

I got same problem, it takes awhile to go to home screen since day one, so nothing to do with other apps running, plus we have powerful phone, write?

I usually press home after the call and it goes rather quick. Maybe I'm just not expecting it to be so quick, though.

I think the delayed screen is to give you access to reply with text or call back. Hitting the home button takes you home quicker than hitting back

I also noticed a delay in audio resume. long enough that I goto reach for the phone and then poof it starts playing again.
this is where I am listening to a podcast it rings so pauses the audio and I take the call when I am done it "resumes" the audio. on the S2 this delay was VERY short on the S3 this resume delay is really really long.
I call so many people during the day no delay and instantly back to dialer would be nice.

[Solved] one button to make phone silent?

So is there any way to press one button to make the phone completely silent? I was in class today and I used to notification menu to go in what I thought was silent mode. A few minutes later I accidently went into the galaxy s voice thing and that robotic ***** started shouting during a quiet class.... I tried using the volume rocker and no dice as well.
Edit:solved with simple sound widget. Thanks for the help.

***Your post made me laugh***
You could try that motion thing where the phone mutes when turned face-down. It's under Settings>Motion>9th option down
Not sure if it will work in every situation, particularly your robotic *****, but you can try....
I downloaded Simple Sound Profile Widget. Seems to work pretty well.
Sadly when this happened my phone was faced up so the motion thong won't work. I'll try the wigit though and see how that works out

So.. I don't mean to sound like a troll at all, so please don't take it this way... Just a serious question...
When you are on a call... You can use the volume rocker to lower your in call volume. Have you tried that?
Also, rooting in and of itself shouldn't cause any changes to the phone other than granting super user privileges.

Another option would be do a factory reset and see what that does for you.

First thing I thought of too. Why not just lower the volume?

Can Anyone Duplicate This ZVB Bug?

Installed the Jelly Bean OTA a few days ago. Noticed that when I was on a call, had the phone on speaker, and went into Google Now, the audio switches to the earpiece, and from there, can be switched back and forth between earpiece and speaker by swiping up and down on the Notification Bar. I'm on stock, rooted ZVB with an unlocked bootloader.
Anyone noticing this issue as well??

Lol, I just randomly stumbled upon this bug.
Make a call and then put the call on speakerphone. While on speaker, go into Google Now by any method and the call will switch back to the earpiece. Then if you swipe down on the notification bar, the sound will go back to speakerphone, and if you swipe back up, the sound goes back to the earpiece.
Strange to say the least...

Can't help with call volume but with slide to call you have to do it from the right of the pic in the number box then it should work.

Having the same problem here.
Did the update now call volume is low. All volume n the phone is turn up tho.
Was searching online and came up with this.
must be rooted.
Use Root Explorer
At the top right hand corner switch from mount r/o to r/w
Go to Systems/build.prop
At the bottom of build.prop text file there is a line;
ro.config.vc_call_vol_steps= 10
Ex: If number is 100 change to 10
save, mount r/o
Reboot
If that line is not in your build.prop then just add it to the bottom.
That seem to have work for me.
