[Q] The process of installing beats audio - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on a stock n7100, I was wondering what the full process would be in order to install beats audio and remain stock with the ability to receive ota after uninstalling root. If that is possible?

[Q] 2 Questions D:

Hello everyone! I have 2 questions about: unlocking bootloader - updating via official software
First: Unlocking Bootloader, what's the safest way to do it? I heard that if you do it you loose the DRM Data. Does exist a way to do it without loosing it?
Second: Updating via official software (PC Companion) Some days ago I uninstalled some pre-installed apps (Navegator, protips, digital clock, etc.) do I have to reinstall them to update?
If you unlock using the official method. DRM certificates are deleted and can never be recovered, if you pay or use setool/omnius. The certificates are not deleted.
Also if you unlock using the official method, you need to relock bootloader before you update by OTA/SEUS. If you have deleted system apps, you can still update using SEUS, but OTA's will fail untill you restore /system/ to how it was.

Questions About Kit Kat

Hello
Basically I'm going to be out of the country in 2 weeks time and did not want to update in case something got borked and I'd be without certain stuff while away. Essentially I've got the viper audio mod on a stock 4.3 rom which is now "unrooted" so certain other apps can work properly. Viper still works fine on this unrooted phone though.
In relation to Kit Kat I have a few questions so I know whether it's worth me upgrading now.
Can I downgrade back to 4.3 on a knox voided boot-loader phone?
Does the stock camera or the new google camera app allow you to save to the SD?
Does viper4android work on it?
With this SD business, can I still download stuff onto it and/or copy stuff from a usb stick connected to my phone onto the SD?
That's it for now

[Q] root and OTA

So I'm planning on rooting my LG G3 soon, (using PurpleDrake I suppose because TowelRoot doesn't work), and I will be installing Xposed after that. I will be keeping my stock recovery as well.
I want to keep my ability to update OTA however, and I know that there are issues with updating while rooted.
As such, will I be able to a) uninstall Xposed and then b) use SuperUser to hide root / or unroot somehow, and then c) accept the OTA
To make sure that no system files are touched, I plan on freezing any unwanted apps through TB (and unfreezing them before the OTA)
Will this work? Is it possible to unroot without having to wipe data?
It should yes long as system apps isn't overly modded. I plan on doing same as well as backing up system apps i mod and placing them back for ota
I don't have a G3 yet to verify..but we use 'boot unlocker' app to toggle root and tamper flag on N5.
Thanks for the responses guys! I wish that there was at least a small OTA update so that the people that are already rooted could actually test this.

[Q] root access with ota available, ota updates not working

I have successfully done the guide to rooting your m8 while keeping the ability to do ota updates. However the ota updates are not working. It just keeps rebooting trying again and failing again.
I have xposed and xprivacy installed. I have the stock recovery installed. Was I supposed to remove xposed? I tought I read that I didn't have to in several places.
I read the entire thread of the guide and have searched for a while. I couldn't find any other errors like mine in any way.
Thank you for your time.
I am not positive on the M8 yet, but on an N5 for example, you can't take an OTA with a custom recovery, or Xposed.
And you need to properly uninstall Xposed. Search on that, I haven't done it.
Also, if you've made other system changes.. Like uninstalling system apps, it won't work either.
I'm not an OTA type, I flash updates manually... And I definitely am not sure if this applies to the M8. ?
You have to have stock recovery, stock rom, and stock kernel to be able to OTA.
I think you must not have any system installed mods as well. (HK sound mod etc.)
s-off and root and xposed do not affect the OTA.

[Q] Sony Bluetooth Headset Help

I have a rooted aftv box a nd want to use a Bluetooth headset but the sound will not come through the headset. I have installed sideload the settings.apk and see Bluetooth is on but just will not recognize the headset.
I presume the rooted box with the old Amazon firmware is the issue where Bluetooth was not supported...
What's the safest way to get it to work? I'm scared to update the firmware and lose root abilities...
Thanks to anyone who might be able to assist with this!
Just install the pre rooted firmware from rbox, it works very well and you will keep root.
