How do we backup the phone if we don't have access to an SD card? :/ I'm not sure where it's backing up to.
Root, unlock, and backup with TWRP. It'll save to internal sd. Save a copy on your computer just in case

Where can I get TWRP?
Its all in Android development section. Root with AIO, or root with Windows method. If you buy Freegee ,it'll install TWRP. for you.

Which is better, clockwork or TWRP?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 2
Personally i prefer CMW. But it doesn't backup/restore properly yet. TWRP is the only, fully functional recovery. So far.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
So I chose TWRP, does it install as an app? I don't see it
Its the recovery. Power off phone, hold volume up+power, wait for LG logo and release. Fastboot should be on the bottom. It'll say unlocked. Then press volume down twice, then power. It'll reboot to TWRP.

Let me guess.. you used the darkside cache wipe. That's the only way to break CWM. Flash this.
http://db.tt/6lVWyHhD
Its TWRP 2.3.0.0. It should lock up when it says installation complete. When it does just hold down the power button and reset your phone and boot back into TWRP instead of CWM. FOR THE LAST TIME PEOPLE STOP USING WIPE SCRIPTS.

Cool beans. Glad to see you're back in business. Now follow my flashing methods so you don't screw up your CWM installation again.

So I flash liquid smooth was all great so I wanted to restore my apps that I backup with Samsung toolkit. So I flash inseruce boot IMG. Now my phone won't go past samsungs boot logo can't get into download by pressing volume down plus home and power.
You might have to do a factory reset in recovery mode. Thats normally the easiest way to get past softbricks.

- pull battery
- then hold home, volume up, and power and release when ever the blue text on top right flashes.
You flashed a TW kernel and not an AOSP one. That's why you got a bootloop

So when you flashed zvb, you wiped /system, /cache, /data, and /dalvic?
might need to wipe your SD too then. Sometimes it just gets messed up.

Press and hold the power button for 20+ sec. That'll turn it off
Then plug into a wall charger for bout an hour. Unplug it and turn it on and go to recovery and factory reset. If it boots great if not plug it in for another hour.

I've noticed you like CWM for your recovery.
Try installing TWRP and see if that helps. Our phone seems to prefer TWRP.

I'm afraid too lol, last time I used freegee, it bricked my phone. And I'm more used too CWM. Ive had several Roms installed, it makes no sence why it would start doing this randomly.

You probably need to use the sbl unlock in FreeGee's menu. Or teeny bins with LGNPST.
Maybe CWM isn't wiping things correctly. There's flashable zips for TWRP and CWMv so that makes it easy.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Its pretty simple we didn't have CWM for our phones for a long time for a reason. TWRP is much more current and supports our phones.

Cwm is infamous for not wiping everything correctly. Twrp is built off the amon ra recovery which is a lot better at wiping than cwm is

He's not alone. PAC and Cyanogenmod have been freezing up on me for at least a month. I use TWRP. It locks up when I type most often and then quits my message and I lose it all. Im resetting to stock and back today.
ughh

So when you install roms, are you wiping /system, /data, /cache, and / dalvic?
If you're using TWRP 2.6.3.0, go to wipe, factory reset, then advanced and tick everything but internal storage. Then install a rom.
If you're still having issues, then in TWRP, wipe everything. Including internal storage. Make sure you backup your files. You will lose everything. Also make sure you have a rom to install or restore in TWRP. If you don't, you'll learn to adb sideload.
If this doesnt work, then LGNPST, or LGFlashTool.

Can you get in to recovery through your bootloader? Hold down power and volume down until your bootloader screen pops up.

I would assume you'd be good to go if you did a clean install of a rom...give that a shot. Someone else might be able to chime in soon.

youd likely only have to restore the system partition, make sure to wipe dalvik too.. next time use xposed + gravitybox (that's what it's there for, so people don't flash willy nilly and break things)
