4.1 Jelly Bean Messaging - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Does anyone have a download link to the 4.1 Jelly Bean messaging app to install on a 4.1.2 custom Rom?
Thanks a million.

4.1.2 ROM is not Jelly Bean? and don't have its messaging app? I'm confused

4.1 is Jelly Bean.

You need to have the TW framework modified IOT make the MMS.apk work. Otherwise it will fc when you try to send an MMS

I'm curious about this too. If that works then I'd install the required ROM right away - I hate the Samsung messaging app!

Probably not due to the fact that mms is really tied with framework. You could try an JB touch wiz rom like tweakwiz Jedijelly embryo, etc.

You can get it to work if you modify/add framework2.jar and SecTelephonyProvider.apk from the same ROM you take the SecMms.apk from. If you are taking the SecMms.apk from an S4 ROM then grab the mms-common.jar instead of modifying framework2.jar. All these are TW mind you...

[[Jelly Bean Touchwiz UX Apk]]

Hello guys
This is the ported version of touxhwiz ux for jelly bean
Credits go to pfittech for his amazing ROM and work
Tested only on pfittech job rom.
As usual,if it doesn't install, move the apk to system/app via root explorer and set permissions to rw-r-r than rebot the phone

If you'd actually read you would've found out that Smando's port doesn't work on JB while this one (according to the OP that is) does work on JB.

If you'd actually understand that the OP of that thread did not update his thread and that he said it works on ICS only because at that time there was only ICS and GB, that will be great.

Hi,
Have anyone actually gotten this apk to work? It launches just fine but i says that it's not installed with the correct privilages to add widgets/shortcuts and such.
The other thread linked does not work at all with JB, force closes at lauch, so its not the same package at all.
I dont understand who is developer of this app - pfittech, sando? Is there official thread?

For AOSP ROMs you would need to include the tw framework files to get the launcher to work.
i recommend downloading this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26407681, then opening the zip with 7-zip and deleting most of the files except for the launcher in system/app, framework folder and lib folder, then after that flash this jelly bean touchwiz launcher. or you couldl replace the apk in that zip with this apk.
im not sure if this APK will work straight away when installed on any Samsung ICS ROM.

Stock Toroplus question

I prefer to stay on stock 4.2.1 sprint nexus but also want to be able to use modified apps such as modded MMS and a few others. How would I go about being able to do this? Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

you can stay on stock but it would be best to go ahead and root the phone so you can replace apk files with the modded ones you want. just use mskips toolkit to root, takes just a few minutes to do.

Thanks a lot, I checked it out but here is my main dilemma. I love stock android and love the stock messaging app but prefer a different theme on it. I get that obviously on custom roms but am not able to send out receive mms using lte/cdma on a custom rom but have no problem at all on stock. Any reason for this?

Moving to Q&A

[Q] most stable and closest to stock 4.2 rom?

does anyone know which 4.2 rom is the closest to stock? i just need something simple that's stable and simple. i need to have wifi calling and battery life at least similar to stock. i really need a 4.2 rom so i can finally have the reply all option for group mms with the stock texting app.
There isn't one. 4.2 is AOSP so it has non of the spen stuff and no wifi calling.

does it at least have the group mms multireply stuff? S-pen not important at all for me and no wifi is not a deal breaker. i tried looking up the group mms thing but it doesn't mention it.
It would really be best to find the rom and ask there.
