Easier way to take screenshots? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm kind of an android noob, so sorry if this is a dumb question.
Is there an easier way to take screenshots? The ways I know of are swiping your hand across the screen (which doesn't work in some apps for me) or holding the spen button with the spen pressed to the screen. From what I gather these are both Samsung-only.
I've been using the Sixaxis app a lot and trying to take screenshots of various games so I can set up touch emulation profiles. It would be nice if there were just a button press combo I could do like on the iPhone.
Thanks!

Holding power + home button together (remember to hold and not just press and release) works on the i317.

It may take a few times to get the timing right each time, but just try again if you get a menu instead.

For the more recent versions, holding down the power button will bring up the shutdown menu, it should be on there.

How can I take a screenshot on Galaxy S2 Wanamlite 12.3? I tried the Home+Power button but it didn't take a screenshot.
Edit: Figured it out on myself already. Must press the Home+Power button at the SAME time. Not after one second before the other button and it took a screenshot. Thanks.

[MOD] Switch HOME and MENU Buttons - Hate the physical home button?

Do you hate the physical home button like I do?
Do you wish you could use the capacitive menu key instead of home, and assign much rarely used menu key to the physical button?
Just flash the attached file in Recovery.
The second file is for returning to the original setup if you wish.
awesome gonna try this

I especially like how the physical button still wakes the device. so I can hit it to wake the device, then double tap menu for svoice
i wonder if there is a way to make the "back" button long press = context menu. then can avoid the physical button all together
Hey I tried it on my vzw gs3 and it didn't work. :O

This is for the international Galaxy S3. For the USA versions, there is a separate forum on XDA since most things aren't compatible.

I think context menu might slow things down. But I understand where you're coming from, we have 5 options for 2 capacitive buttons so 1 option will have to be assigned to the physical button. I guess it depends on individuals on which button is the least used. For me is the Search button. Maybe a proposal like this :
Capacitive Menu Button
Short Press : Home
Long Press : Menu
Physical Home Button
Short Press : Home and Wake
Long Press : Search
Capacitive Back Button
Short Press : Back
Long Press : Recent

Love this. Does this mean that long press menu brings up 'Recents Menu' ?

Yes! Both keys are completely switched with all functionality, except that the physical button will still wake the device.
To other suggestions about more functionality, unfortunately I can only switch keys, I can't change the long press functions and such.
Great. Thanks
Does this work with cm9 or only sammy roms?
Works flawlessly with my device. Thank you OP.:good:
Awesome!

Hopefully one day it can be done like the HTC ONE X!
thanks, it works. but now my menu button does not vibrate anymore. it vibrates only in long press....
Installed it, running perfect!
This is how Samsung should do it.
Thanks a lot!!
Edit:
Short press menu button open menu
long predd menu button open taskmanager would be perfect!

I hate the home button but I hate more the lack of recents button.
Is there any way to swap the menu button functionality with that of "show recents"?

Hold down Home and Power button.
You can also add it to the power menu through ROM control
I might be wrong since I haven't been on AOKP in a while, but I thought it was "volume down + power". Maybe it changed.
There's a THANKS button around here somewhere!

[DEV REQUEST] Pause Button

[DEV REQUEST] Pause Button
Hi developers ,
I am really thankful for all your contributions that you've made for all of us , I am coming with a new request to see if this is possible ,
I've got mod which helps me to make the Volume rocker button on note to work as previous and next tracks changer when screen is off ,
If this is the case i am looking forward to check with you guys if its possible that when the screen is off can we make the power button for long press as Play Pause ?
This should be possible but power button could actually switch off the phone as well.
this is XXXDDDAAA

Hey, i dont know much about those things, but i dont think menu button would be a good choice since it is a capacitive button... I'd rather use the home button, cause theres no further use on longpressing it on the lockscreen?
peace

Yes i do use that option but when i m on bed and flip over i will pause the track and when i keep is normal the bed will reduce the sound so i've disable the Motion

it's too big, senpai!

how the heck are you supposed to start a new thread on this thing, there's no menu key!!
sooo whats the best one-handed grip technique for this thing. I hold it up straight, with my pinky under it so it doesn't fall. I don't have the biggest hands, but is anyone actually one-handing this thing successfully? technique pleaseeee!
Sent from my Galaxy S3 cuz it has a menu key.
